As hard as it is to see such an original icon that fans have loved for generations get taken apart and re-done. I will say that TK elevator did a great job making the Dieselducy look modern, and I hope they take good care of it when it comes to maintenance.

@@DieselDucy Yeah. To be honest, I really don’t like it when elevators that are my favorite from when it’s original gets modded. But new elevators are awesome as well on the other hand.
As sad as it was to see my favorite elevator go, I'd say that ThyssenKrupp knocked it out of the park with the new elevator! It looks absolutely beautiful and I still love it, even though it's modernized! ☺️

Didn't expect the door hold on the new elevator to last only 10 seconds. This lift runs much smoother now

Tasteful mod! Like the digital readout panel, the sound is easier on the ears, that bell before was very loud! 🔔 🔊

I remember riding one of the elevators on the other side of the garage, what a GREAT memory that is! THANK YOU for it Andrew, I TRULY appreciated it man! Hopefully you’re doing alright and I’ll be sure to talk to ya sometime soon 😎
Miss that show a lot
As a long-time viewer, this is one of the most fundamental elevators to early DieselDucy history for sure. Honorable mention goes to Market Parking Garage with all of its funny skits over the years (ex: voice-activated elevator)

I was honestly nervous when this thing got modded. I thought the mod was gonna suck like the bank of 2 elevators. Especially since this is the famous elevator in the garage. Thankfully it’s a good mod! I think it kind of needed it because of how slow the door got over the years. Now the door isn’t slow anymore!

there's one thing i don't quite get and its why the new indicator on this one is surface mounted on a flush-to-the-wall metal panel as opposed to the others which are flush mounted in a larger surface mount panel. They did an excellent job with it tho

Ahhhhhh the flash back brings back so many memories!!!!!!!! I love watching that video. I have not a one clue this thing was getting modernized until yesterday when it just entered service as a Thyssenkrupp elevator!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This mod, like all TK mods, is a good one. 4 years ago the other elevators across the garage have been modernized by Thyssenkrupp, and now, 4 years later, this elevator got modernized by Thyssenkrupp!!!!!!!! I will miss the old elevator as so will everyone, but this new one is very nice!!!!!! This one doesn't have an exterior lantern unlike the others ones. This one serves the B floors first and doesn't serve M unlike the other elevators that do serve M and serve the A floors. The old elevator and the old other elevators made so many memories. Everyone knows these are featured in alot of videos going through their history making. This is still and always will be the DieselDucy elevator even though it is modernized.

This could’ve been made scenic and that’s the alarm that was on MAC cartop stations
I set it off one day and its SO LOUD lol

The logic still seemed to be somewhat original because the doors didnt open immediatelly after you hit the call button but thats typical of thyssenkrupp to do that so I dont think thats the case

I think this needed the modernization, because the doors were very slow on it.

And this is why I’m not a big fan of ThyssenKrupp these days, they just got to ruin every epic elevator out there
Original elevator parts are hard to find.
That's very much with any elevator company. But, I wouldn't take full blame on them. These modernizations are decided by who owns the elevator, and in this case, park Roanoke. And like what Elevatorelectricgate said, parts can get very hard to find on old elevators. But I completely understand why old elevators are better, they are much more unique.
