Bought a used Lexus ES 350 5 years ago, best used car I ever bought. I owned Mercedes, BMW 5 series, the 2007 525 was the biggest lemon I've owned, so stay away from the Germans, heck, I'm German, buy a Lexus, if not, at least a Toyota product.
Coming from a BMW 550i to this is a BIG difference for me. It's more comfortable than an M340i but greatly underpowered. The predicted reliability alone trumps it's option and performance shortcomings compared to BMW.
It amazes me that 300+ hp today are mild and average performance. What does one do with 500hp in public roads? I feel that we have lost the sense of scale. My last car was a Mercedes C400 4MATIC, a 330hp car. 99% of my driving time all this power seemed superfluous, unnecessary and sometimes dangerous.
Well this 311 is from an old naturally aspirated V6, it won't compare to any turbo 6-cylinder competition. It's barely if any faster than some of the turbo 4-cylinders in this class.
muricans have been spoiled by big v8s that cost nothing they have no idea how ridiculous they sound when in europe most cars have 3 cylinders 1.2 without turbo...
@@thepro08 that is because your country is robbing you on fuel costs and overbearing vehicle taxes. Has nothing to do with cheap V8's. I am American and most of my cars have been European V8's.

The turbo 4 was decent enough, but the V6 is far better. I would go for the 2022 IS500 V8 if I could afford it.
Coming from a 2011 BMW 328i! Can’t go wrong with Toyota. They say the BMW 3 series is the most reliable series out of all of them, but I had really bad experiences from engine oil leaks, to transmission problems even though I baby it.... I gotta say, my 2013 RWD Lexus Is350 has giving me 0 problems and it was one of the best options I’ve had ever take. Nice review sir!
I recently started researching this car and now I'd really like to own one. The nicest car I've ever owned is my current 2017 Jetta, which I bought shortly after graduating college and landing a job. So I definitely believe upgrading to an IS350 F-Sport will be just right for me. Thanks for creating this video!
I loved seeing you reviewing a Lexus IS 350. Owesome car. I missed bmw when i got my first encounter with Lexus. But now, i understand why Lexus is so nice. Comfortable, fast, super reliable. You can drive hard and don't mind about blowing a turbo or having an check engine light on..

A fairer comparison would be with the Audi A4 and BMW 330i, which have roughly the same price and 0-60 times as the Lexus. Just got a 2023 is350- no performance package and no upgraded sound system. The sound system is a MUST- this 10 speaker premium is lacking for a 50k car. Aside from that it handles like a cloud- can't imagine what it would be like with that extra sport + mode. Anyhow- this car is a SPORTY luxury sedan. It is no longer a sport sedan like the 2 IS. It is not very fast. Even if it was tuned with 20 more horsepower it would make a difference. But 311 HP on a car that is almost 2 tons, well- its a bit lack luster. The F sport comes standard with a cold air intake so that's off the table and the ECU has not been cracked yet for a tune. I would have gone with the IS500 if it wasn't for the 20K mark up my California dealers are charging. Overall the car has super and I mean SUPER aggressive styling and is so comfortable to drive. But if you are not concerned with long term ownership and reliability, and want something that throws you back in your seat- this car is not for you. I don't see the complaints with the infotainment or technology aspect of the car- but I am coming from a 2IS. Personally I think this car is a great choice if speed is not your main priority. It is a quick head turner and a DREAM to drive on Cali roads. And if you have been to California that says something. TLDR- GET THE UPGRADED SOUND SYSTEM AND THE PREFORMANCE PACKAGE- IF SPEEFD IS YOUR NEED GET THE IS500 AND SPEND THE 20K ON MARKUP. Much love Lexus Family
Last week, traded in my 2018 Infiniti q50 Red Sport (10,500 miles) for an IS350 F Sport. The chassis on the q50 was not balanced. Engine took off, and the car followed. 311 HP on the Lexus feels smooth.
When they were ending the GS. My lease was ending and I waited to see the IS before I searched all of America for the last GS. This IS is nice. But they could have done so much more to it. It in person it looks like major refresh. And sadly this beautiful Atomic silver is being terminated after this year. It’s Nice but still a little small. So I found a GS f sport Blackline in Virginia , I live in NY. All happy Nice review.
I test drove this car and it's very nice however I felt like it was very masculine, the front grill and styling. I ended up leasing the Mercedes cla 250 4matic and I love it!
Agree with your comments on Lexus not doing enough vs the competition. I went with 3 series M340i instead, and no comparison. If the IS500 was available in my country, it may have been more closer decision. However no regrets with the M340i and it still trumps IS500 for performance and efficiency.
The big gaping grill of the new Lexus looks like something is broken off the bottom, leaving a wide, dark gap. The black grill adds to the effect, looking like the front end has suffered some serious damage. Other cars have a very similar look after hitting a deer on the highway. Just a big, dark, gaping hole where a grill and bumper and/or lower valance should be.
Just test drove both the BMW 330i xDrive (with M Sport package) and the Lexus IS 350 F Sport AWD. I can tell you the BMW is definitely more of a "driver's car," but the Lexus is more luxurious and comfortable. What's more, the Lexus is not far behind the BMW in terms of performance and handling. Unless you're carving canyons on a regular basis (in which case, why are you buying the 330i instead of the M340i or the 2-series?), then the Lexus is the better choice. It has a certain elegance that the BMW lacks.
You bet, the BMW has crisper handling, a more urgent engine, and more stout brakes, but for street duty, it’s a close match up. Also, I enjoy the exhaust note better from the V6 Lexus than the 4 cyl BMw
How about showing how the infotainment works. That is still a touchpad isn’t necessary at all. They could use that space more efficiently. No usb ports in the rear? Lexus is still two steps behind the competition.
I just watched this vlog and a few others. These vehicles are getting more and more technical with more and more electronics and gizmos that means the vehicles will be less reliable and more costly to fix in the future. A second hand Toyota Corolla or Camry, pre Hybrid makes more and more sense even if it costs a bit more on fuel because of poorer fuel consumption.
Great vid. I love the new IS, everything is vastly improved except for the rear... Can't quite get used to it...
Thanks a lot for watching. They really are quite a nice step from the last generation.
Rear looks so much better. Not a flop in my book. Car is just stunning.

311 HP on the Lexus feels smooth.
reliability is the key
Yes
Two weeks as an owner of IS350 in infrared with white leather interior.
Thanks for your honest review The durability along with the luxury makes this car a great choice
What's the smoothest riding car in the toyota or lexus models
Luv the review Mark 😄! It's a great keeper!
Great review. Thanks Mark.
All happy
Nice review.
I went with the bigger GS for the rear leg room. But I do like the IS compactness.
It's good to see you walking away from the BMW's. nice job.
Thanks 👍
Would you prefer this over Camry TRD?
100 percent
Apples and oranges. No comparison.
LEXUS 😎👍🏻
Did you leave out handling, or did I just miss it??
I test drove this car and it's very nice however I felt like it was very masculine, the front grill and styling. I ended up leasing the Mercedes cla 250 4matic and I love it!
Agree with your comments on Lexus not doing enough vs the competition. I went with 3 series M340i instead, and no comparison. If the IS500 was available in my country, it may have been more closer decision. However no regrets with the M340i and it still trumps IS500 for performance and efficiency.
Dude, is that the Atomic Silver or the Iridium on the car you're reviewing?
I believe that was atomic silver.
@@mmmoli1171 - Thanks!
Can you help me to buy used Lexus 350
Mark what about leaks with timing chain housing?
Time will tell for sure
Great review
Thank you very much. These are very cool cars.
I like that color
It sure is a wonderful color. Shows the lines.
Really wish Lexus would put a b58 engine in this car. That’ll make this car really appealing to me.
Good job dude
Thanks a lot
Lexus all day long. Awesome car.
It is a great car
I swear you can't find a 10" screen and the Mark Levinson system together anywhere. Its like they only made 10 of them
They should have put in Supra's BMW engine into this car.
Your broker is different from mine..
I'll definitely give him a try today.
