So sorry for your loss Abby. I lost 2 of my furkids last year, and whilst nowhere near the depth of your family's loss, it still hurt so very much, and still does. I was more than pleased to see the back of 2024.
Abby I hear you, 2024 SUCKED! My father suddenly died and I have to do all the estate stuff, my partner got hit in his bike twice, my cat developed diabetes at the same time my father was in hospital, and our hot water tank crapped out and flooded the basement. Here's wishing for a happy and healthy 2025! 💕
“How is she not a lesbian?”😂😂😂 in all seriousness, I am so sorry for your loss- 2024 sucked but here’s to hoping 2025 is better! I can’t wait for your book and am so excited to see what videos you’ve been working on. Your channel keeps me inspired on my fashion history journey ❤❤❤
I'm so sorry for your family's loss. I lost my mom to metastatic melanoma in 2016 when she was still what my sister and I thought of as a fairly young woman. I do hope that 2025 brings you and yours much joy! I get so much laughter from your videos! You're amazingly creative and funny af.
Thank you for the update. I'll be looking forward to the book as well as anything you have time to post, but do be careful not to burn yourself out. I hope 2025 treats you kindly ❤ and surrounds you with loving supportive people
2024 was rough for so many people! May 2025 be better for all of us! Side note - I adopted a Blue Russian car who was a hurricane refugee this fall. Watching my Louisiana girl see her first Colorado snowfall was a hoot! Hope your California girls are loving winter!
Im so sorry for you and your family's loss. We lost my mom in 2024 to colon cancer. I moved across the country last year, so I get what you meant by 'hold on' energy lol. I hope 2025 is a bit more peaceful for us all (Im tired of living through historical events, grandpa!) but I wont hold my breath :,) lol
Happy new year. Heres to a less wild ride in 2025. It probably won't be. But that's why we talk through it with loved ones and watch fantatsic, funny, historical content on UA-cam. Best to you and yours Abby.
2024 was....a year. Take care for yourself and your fam. I've recently been enjoying rewatching your old videos. I wish you the best for the upcoming year and can't wait to see what you have been researching
Love you Abby! So sorry for your loss. I found out after the funeral that my uncle who lived closest to me had passed away on the first of January and by way of his obituary I found out that his son who was closest to me in age had passed away two years ago. Plus on top of that a long time family friend passed away about the same time as my uncle. That's how I ended 2024 and started 2025. Life is chaotic and challenging. All I can say is do what is best for you! I'm sure all of us will be here for you, cheering you on and laughing at you and your friends silly antics as you bring to life your amazingly educational stories. I wish you all the best on your book. I can't wait to see it fully published and doing well.
Wow! Sounds like you've really had a roller coaster of a year! I'm so sorry for your loss...but happy for you about your book! Girl, just get some rest and focus on taking care of yourself.
Thank you for the life update and good luck on writing the book; I can't wait to read it!! Additionally, my deepest condolences to you, Jimmy, and your families. I hope this year goes smoothly for you!
Hello from Kansas, Abby. I didn't know you were a Midwestern girlie, but I should have guessed by your sass, grit and tenacity! We too suffered some devastating losses in '24, a year I am ever so glad to see the back of! Congrats on selling your book. I look forward to more fun and fabulous videos later this year.
I'm so excited for your book. Take your time. Your energy and dedication is appreciated and we want you at your best and that includes you resting and recuperating!
Sorry for your loss. Putting you and your family first is the best decision. Hopefully 2025 will bring better days, success, and fun! Looking forward to your book!
I absolutely adore your content. Especially since you have such a similar style and commentary as my older sister, who is one of my best friends. I’m always laughing with your incredible sense of humor and I am so grateful for all of the time and effort you put into these videos! I’m so sad to hear about the struggles you and your family have suffered over the past year. I am happy to hear that you plan on taking care of your mental health and I hope that this year is better than ever! I look forward to your next video, as always, whenever you are able. ❤❤❤
Happy New Year and may your year be brighter than the last! I lost my Granny this last year and helping my parents go through her house has been difficult. She just packaged up her mother's house and kept all of it when her mother died, so we were going through two households worth of stuff. We got to piece together a lot of family stories, which was nice, but trying to figure out what was a keepable vintage heirloom and what wasn't was a challenge. May all of us find some joys in this...already tumultuous next year.
Aw! Hugs to you. I'm sorry you had a tough year. Change can be super rough, especially when it's the loss of those we care deeply for. Please take it easy. We're super lucky to get whatever amazing videos you have the time to create. Can't wait to see your new book!! And sorry to hear about your nose hairs. Mayhaps they shall return in 2025!!
I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. I am so glad things are working out for you at the beginning of this year I'm happy to hear that you're taking time for yourself and your family and then you have some new fuzzy friends. And again, I am sorry for your family's loss. And I hope in the new year you have even more good luck loves and good laughs for the future here and continuing. Watching from northern Ohio
I’m so sorry for your loss… Grief is always unique, even people who lose the same person lose them in different ways, but you’re never ever alone in it. I hope you and your family have lots of support and care ❤️ Sending lots of love
You have our condolances, my father passed away, tragically, and suddenly too in April. It upended our life, and we still are struggling to recover. Congratulatioons on your book, and cant wait for your new videos to come out.
Also here in Southern Indiana! Currently snowed in from the winter storm. Also moved from the west recently, so not used to the snow at all loll. If ur ever in Evansville you should check out the haunted historical library here! Beautiful Victorian building with live feeds going 24/7 to capture the ghost.
I’m sorry you had a rough year. I enjoy your videos but I have to say I miss your “making” videos and even the older ones exploring vintage fashion finds. I look forward to seeing what you have in store for 2025.
I'm so sorry for your loss, Abby. You know when you lose a loved one for some reason we forget to take care our ourselves. Both of my parents are gone now and it's been a journey to realize that I while I mourn them I also need to get on with the business of living. I am so glad to see that you are stepping back when you can and simply existing in the world with your family and friends. Happy New Year to you and I wish for all the best for 2025. BTW, you made me roll off the bed laughing so hard with the peri-menopause comment. Ain't it grand? This menopausal woman had to relearn everything about her body when I hit the peri-phase. Hope it goes much smoother for you. xoxox ♥🙏🏽
I am so sorry for your family's loss. A close friend of my family lost his father suddenly a few weeks ago, and he got the news after he was prevented from visiting him due to flu! His father was 100 and had a full life and they were able to visit a few weeks prior, but it was still a blow. I was wondering where the 2 extra dogs came from and it's so sweet that you and your husband adopted them. I took my grandmother's cat when she passed a few years ago, as I had promised her. He's been a great help in healing from the loss. I wish your family all the best with their healing. I can't wait for your book. I actually got the Christmas pin from your shop for my mom.
I'm so sorry for your loss, Abby. We lost our mother last summer. She was 90 years old and in an advanced state of senile dementia, but it's still hard to lose a parent at any age. I hope you and your family have a much better 2025.
Congrats on selling your book! I will definitely be purchasing, I have a copy of the first one you wrote as well. I’m so sorry for the loss your family went through in 2024, it was a hard year for so many. If you’re ever looking for more friends with nerdy historical interests, I’m available! :)
2024 was rough for most of us. The last quarter in particular hammered my mental health back several years. I'm just taking lots of naps. And to start off 2025 I missed a deadline for submitting my book and now they won't take it. So more naps.
First my deepest heartfelt sympathies. You have had a very rough year and I’m sending you ❤ and 🤗 I am very excited about this book. I’ll be ordering today, the signed Fashion Print. You are such an amazingly talented woman. All the best in 2025! You look awesome.
New year Blessings to you and yours! 😂 That city slicker clip is very spot on, at least for some parts. Looking forward to sharing in you new endeavours.
Congratulations on the book yay!!! And do what you need to do, your videos are both fact-full and funny as all get out so I will always come back around for more. ❤
Take the time you need. First snow for anyone can be a wonderful experience or terrible. Most of the time good though😅 (from personal experience) sounds like you are doing the things you should be and pacing yourself. Take care!❤
Oh Abby 🫂 My condolances to your family, that is A Lot for anyone to go through. Please do take some time to yourself to keep yourself on an even kerl, we won't mind ❤
Sorry to hear of your loss. I was wondering if something major was up in your world. Looking forward to more videos and your new book (Congrats on the deal!!) Best of luck into 2025 and beyond!
We've missed you ❤❤❤ sending hugs, you take your time as we will still be here. Make a big fuss of your new california girls, you could even do a video of your dogs because I for one would love that especially your dogs have sillyness in the snow ❤❤
Love ya, Abby. I hope your new year is wonderful. Whatever you need to do, we'll be waiting. Your videos are a guilty pleasure and something worth waiting for. You're responsible for turning me onto a lot of dress (and its accoutrements) history.
Abby I am so sorry for your losses and so happy for your achievements! I hope you and your loved ones have a peaceful beautiful 2025. Much love all the way from Brazil
Thank you kindly for the life update. My most sincere condolences to you and your loved ones. Also, congratulations on book sales. Best wishes to you, for a much better year.
I'm really sorry to hear this Abby. But what i am glad for is you making good choices for you. Have been rewatching your videos, I'll be more diligent for that passive ad revenue ✌️
Happy New Year 🎉 Hope you and your loved ones are thriving and healthy and may we continue to be delighted with many more drag history niche interest video essays 🔥
I hear you on 2024! However, my family's bad year was 2023. Lost 4 fur babies (2 cats, 2 dogs), and lost 10 family members (attended 6 of the funerals). It was wild and chaotic. Last year was fine, I got engaged and got a kitten. I'm now a week into 2025 and the engine blew on my car, and my kitten broke my $100 headset within days of each other. Hoping to send and receive good vibes for the rest of this year!
2024 was so all over the place for me. My partner and I finally graduated and started working, and we got married. But also, my dad died after a very long and painful process of recovering after a stroke he'd had a year and a half prior. I'm ready for 2025 to be less chaotic (here's hoping!).

Happy new year, Abby! I hope yoy and your family have a lovely, happy, gentle year
I send some big hugs from Italy.
2024 was so all over the place for me. My partner and I finally graduated and started working, and we got married. But also, my dad died after a very long and painful process of recovering after a stroke he'd had a year and a half prior. I'm ready for 2025 to be less chaotic (here's hoping!).
2024 was a doozy, definitely hoping for a brighter 2025. Condolences for y'all's loss as well.
May the memories of love outweigh the grief of loss.
Sorry to hear 2024 was tough, 2023 was that for me! Also... Holy shit you sold to Penguin!!?!??! Congrats!! Is that a process you'd be willing to share??
I love jigsaw puzzles! They are great for de-stressing.
2024 was a tough one here too 😒 Job loss, undiagnosed health issues for me and my dog, nerve damage from donating blood... it's been a "fun" year 🙄 Here's to a better 2025 ❤
I hope you have a happy healthy year.
Do what you need to and relax whenever you can. We’ll still be here.
2024 was a difficult year for me too. I'm trying to getter energy to start 2025. Tomorrow is my birthday, I'll be 35yo.
