The game is based on the Tales from the Loop RPG game, which in turn was based on the retro-futuristic artbook of the same name by Simon Stalenhag (came out a few years ago - wonderful art set in an alternative Sweden in the 1980s). It was then turned into a short series by Amazon Prime set in America. Thanks for the helpful video.
Great walk through. There are some really upsetting things though: 1. "Is it based on a book or movie?" It's based on ALL the books and movies from the 80s man! 2. There's NO INTERNET in the 80s. There are Bulletin Board Systems!! You get on FIDONET! :-D
Just played this scenario with a friend and lost also! This one feels pretty hard compared to Bot Amok! Simons art is really fantastic and I’d recommend checking it out. I’ve also played the RPG and it’s absolutely fantastic as well!
Loved the playthrough! I noticed on Thursday you remove both conditions from Lena and Sasha when resting, but the rest states you can only remove 1 condition.
You remove only one condition when you rest, you removed both the conditions. p.20 (it was at about 56:20 or so). And there are six scenarios plus the sandbox scenario (Mystery Islands) and then two expansion scenarios. ... and I loved the playthrough ...
@@OneStopCoopShop I agree that three kids is a bit of a sweet spot, but that can depend on the scenario. I won this scenario with the last time cube used, because I had a machine hacked. So sometimes the machines are useful, sometimes they are just obstacles.
At 24:13 you say it takes also two "spend time" to go from a restricted location to another restricted location. Is that right cause it literally says "if open to restricted".
@@OneStopCoopShop On BGG this was the answer: Move cost one time cube, except when you move from an open location to a restricted location (because you have to sneak and/or steal a boat to get there). So I assume it only cost one spend time to go from restricted to restricted.
@@juan4aigle You are totally right though the Restricted locations do not have bus stops so how could he take the bus?! :) Thanks so much for watching!
I want to like the Amazon show of this title. It's strange because the director did so much to make it seem like an 80s drama, that he made the episodes long and boring like one as well. The concept is neat though.
I would say the scenarios have branching paths and there are 6 in the box with 2 expansions. So I would say at least 15 plays before you really start to repeat!

Thanks for that and thanks for watching!!
Colin’s playthroughs are the gold standard in this hobby.
Well thank you so much Andrew you made my day!!
Yup 👍🏾
Great vid, I believe at 23:05 that if it shares both a restricted and open sector the machine would be routine.
Got it thank you!!
Thanks for this excellent playthrough. I just opened my game and this kick-started my learning very well!
So glad to help!

So cool! I live only a few kilometers away from Stenhamra ☺
That's so cool!
Great video. Thanks.

Great catch! I'll make a note! Must be they are expert resters I think!!
Great video. This helped a lot with learning the rules. Thank you!
Glad to help!! Have fun!

Nice! Just received my copy of the game. Will give it try soloing it with 3 kids.
Have fun!! I think you'll enjoy 3 kids solo a lot!
Wow, those dice were really cruel to you.
Great playthrough never the less.
Yeah they did not like our team today! Thanks so much for watching!!
You should look into Simon Stålenhags books!
I think I will!!

In dunno I'd assume moving to any restricted location cost 2 to move into. Maybe ask on board game geek?

Well that is amazing thank you I will make a subtitle!!
At 56:40 you mentioned that he could have taken the bus, but there’s no bus stop where he is going?
Thought there was sorry about that!
No worries! I’m also learning the game so my comment was formatted as a question as I wasn’t 100% sure either :) great video though!

Ahh bummer! Too bad cause the theme is quite unique! Thanks for watching!
@@OneStopCoopShop Yeah give it a shot. It's worth watching one episode to see what it is
I will be! Thanks!!

TV show??? I love the movies
How repayable is this?

HE or SHE I guess pronouns do not matter nowadays who knows what Lena identifies as!? :D
Haha yeah I'm pretty sure Sasha can be gender neutral but who knows!
@@OneStopCoopShop sure, I meant Lena. Corrected it now. You kept calling her him lol
Ohh haha!! My bad!
