    Just like to make a quick suggestion after plastidip experience. The first coat make extremely light. The second just a fairly bit thicker. 3 and after let it rip. Lay it on. The first and second coat are the bonding coat and the thinner they are the better it holds up. Make sure all surfaces are extremely clean.

    I just dipped mg bike for the second time. This time I sprayed megurires ultimate spray wax and it literally makes a world of a difference
    Changes the rubbery feel of plastidip and makes it less prown to scratching and marring
    Give it a shot and put a few good coats on to protect it

    Tip - don't 'dip your parts outside like that, like in the vid u can get bugs, dust etc stuck to the coats. Overspray and fumes from spraying plastidip are not as bad as painting. I do mine in my garage with the door open and the ducted air con inside turned on so I get a gentle airflow happening. Other option is to do it in the bathroom with a a few down sheets and the extractor fan on. By the way the bike turned out pretty good!

    I really love your videos they helped me decide to get a 250 myself (my first bike and I'm new to riding). I was wondering about the plasti dip though, how is it holding up and is it hard to clean? I just dipped my rims and found them to be a bit sticky and tacky. I was planning on dipping my ninja but this has me reconsidering, I feel like everything will stick to its tacky surface it and mess with the finish.

    Hi there from Germany.
    I bought myself a 1998 Honda VFR 800 three days ago, technically erevthing's fine but it's painted black with Plasti Dip and the job has been f***ed up, so I want to remove the black Plasti Dip and recoat the remaining original blue color with white Plasti Dip, install some gold Honda and VFR stickers and finish the job with Plasti Dip Glossifier. (lights and instruments are getting changed with blue lights, should look awesome :) )
    Compared to your Ninja 250 there is a lot more fairing which needs to get painted, so can you tell me, how much cans of Plasti Dip white and how much of Plasti Dip Glossifier I will need to geht the job done? If you needed 5 for your little Ninja, maybe something between 8-10 cans each?
    PS: Your bike looks awesome, great job! ;)

If you don't use it you might get little scratches on it. Nothing to worry about but if you like the clean look you should try it. www.dipyourcar.com/Dip-Coat/

    • @saddlebroncSilver
      @saddlebroncSilver 8 років тому

      No problem, all depend what effects do you would like looks, if do you want vivid metallic red, could you spray matte red basecoat , then red metalizer top coat, think about 2 coats of base, plus 4 coats of metalizer, waiting 20 minutes between coats, thin and even coats. basecoats will give you different final result, black, white, gun metal. So over all , red basecoat with red metalizer would give you vivid red metallic .if do you want something more dark would be black basecoat, more bright white, more shine gun metal, =) remember the best result is good base prep, good clean your car or bike paint, could you use clay to make smooth clean paint and wipe with alcohol, then starting if nice basecoat couple times, then 4 top coats.
      good luck 'n I hope you get good job done over there. take it easy =)
