    Beautiful Job. My first airplane was a 1941 J4. I flew it for over 500 hours and I loved it. It was getting close to needing fabric and a complete rebuild like this one. I was unwilling to lay out the money so I sold it.

    Congratulations on an excellent job! This is the first report / feedback I have read on the Stewart covering system.

    Well done, Sir! I'm neck-deep in a similar project with a 1971 M-4 220C Maule. My goal is to have mine turn out as nice as yours did. The Cub (65HP) was the first aircraft I ever took a lesson in ... Love 'em. Skal, ^v^

    You make it look so easy....but in reality I'm sure it was allot of work, even some dissapointing moments. Great job and great video. Thanks for posting it for others needing to revamp their Piper.

    I am so impressed. Absolutely beautiful Super Cub. Deep respect, and a tinge if envy, for your skills. I so wish I could do work like that. I’ll bet it’s a pure joy to fly as well. I sure enjoy my daily-flyer J3 Cub so I can imagine how much your brother is loving six-oh--Delta! Congratulations on a superb job and informative, inspirational video.

    Great job, love the PA-18 as it was the plane of my first ride and lesson. Fond memories of the barn door flaps and steep approaches.

      Same. Actual first flight was in a Delta 727 ... New Orleans to Nashville and back (Hooked!). Third time ever in an aircraft was a 65HP Piper Cub to see if stalls and spins would stop me from further pursuing flying ... Nope! ^v^

    So great... This plane was the reason I just bought an "A" model... I picked up a 55 PA-18A back in September. I saw 60D up in KOSH and fell in love with it. Working some kinks and fixing a few neglected items but should be back flying it this month. Plan on rebuilding it one of these day and incorporating some Alaska mods as well as the Flanagan STC. Thanks for sharing!

      I'm glad you saw the airplane at OSH... my brother has over 200 hours in her now, and did all his training in the airplane, including his Private check ride!

    I just realized, just from the pictures, that the turtledeck on the A model is shaped with a different contour back to the empennage.

    Good evening, fantastic looking welding work on fuselage modifications. Did you gas weld it, or tig weld it? Great looking welding beads. Great video, take care and good luck.

      @marttclupperopendoorflying7558  3 роки тому

      Thank you... I'm old school, so it's gas welding where the float fittings attach to the fuselage tubes, however, the welds that make up the actual float fittings are not gas, they were done by Dakota Cub.

      1,108, but after swapping out the old generator, and a few other engine compartment changes, it's down to 1,098.
