    This is so true. Being locked in one position is really limiting on your musicality.
    I had a great jazz guitar teacher, who taught me to play single string scales. In addition he made me improvise using only 3 or sometimes 2 fingers on the left hand (like Django did). What it does is it forces you to change positions much more often (among other benefits).

    Nice! Single string nonrecognition is so important. IMO it's the single most important guitar lesson after the chords scale.
