I think, if someone goes to a place and has a bad meal , then they are fully entitled to say so. Of course, it has to be considered, that it could also be for " click bait"
I prefer Darren John to the Macmaster every time, Macmasters drag on far too long, there’s too much mindless chit chat, too much travelling and the guys just plain irritating. I’ve seen DJ give other places bad reviews apart from the Chinese, I’ve seen him leave sausages, saw a video where he clearly stated the curry was too expensive etc. He had every right to criticise the Chinese meal, it looked absolutely terrible and the staff really need to pull their finger out if they think it’s ok to serve that rubbish. The only decent food review UA-cam channels worth watching in my opinion are Darren John and Gary Eats, I don’t bother with the rest as most of them are unwatchable and just like the sound of their own voices like that awful Macmaster fellow.

I totally agree with you, I felt at the time when I watched that Rick video he was having a dig because he’s a mate of DJ’s. I found it hard to believe at first that it could have been the Harriet’s vlog review he was talking about as I didn’t think it was harsh or that bad. I’ve seen several videos over the years from Harriet’s from the vloggers including from Lee and they always got great reviews, maybe it was just an off day. I’ve had lunch there myself and was a bit underwhelmed by it to be honest but maybe that was just a bad day too.
Yeh I think it was a storm in a teacup I think the friendship AND the other video by the Knightstrider that had come out that week re muggings in Los Cris tipped the balance and got him to make a big thing of the food review. Its weird cos as I stated in a previous video Mac and the Craicmaster did a review a couple of days before in the Ginger Pig and ALL gave it great reviews - youve got to be allowed to be honest and review what you see/taste

Macmaster regularly visited Harriets when he was in Tenerife in 2020, he enjoyed the food then but did say that particular meal was disappointing. I think he felt he had done enough of Tenerife and as Knightstrider regularly posts Tenerife vlogs he felt he would leave it to him.
@@bgog999 first of all he spent time in Perth then flew cross country to Sydney. One thing you will find down under is the cities are very very clean, no cigarette ends, chewing gum or crap on the floor. Not one speck
I like Dj a lot he’s as straight as they come ,we all know that unfortunately he has hit a wall atm with his employment status and admire him for trying to keep his head above water doing more vlogs whilst searching for other employment ,I know that money may be very tight but it would be nice if he would do more vlogs abit outside of the m25 zone ,not miles out of the London area but just in some of the surrounding villages close by ,😊

After seeing this and the things you saud about what you like in regard to food reviews, I recommend the lovely Gary Eats ❤✌🏼 I find Darren John to be a pretentious and rude. He has a serious chip on his shoulder. Wants to kid himself by having a champagne lifestyle on a lemonade budget yet has the nerve to be rude to viewers who commebt stating his channel "DJ Food Audits" that was meant to be all about the food really doesnt rate or review the food accurately Does he really research the places thecway claims... I doubt it. The former "chef" coukdbt even name or give an accurate description of a traditional Marinara Pizza recently... He's sp far up his own backside he can see through his nostrils

I too watch them all Anne Marie and like them all on different levels (nothing contreversial there in my mind) you say know the facts - how can anyone know the facts nobody name checks anybody. After the original videos 2 of the main players have said things about one another and the 3rd player keeps on bringing up the original video but doesnt comment about anything within the video. If there are FACTS AS YOU PUT THEM that people should know about before comments are made please let me/us know what they are. I will bet you are happy to tell others (me) not to comment but wont share what you purport to know - which really is the big problem with the person and original video that started this whole series of follow up videos from 3 or 4 vloggers

It will be about how tribal some of the followers are and how once they are in 1 camp they can NEVER see 2 sides of any argument or falling out, I find it fascinating and weird in equal parts.

I always enjoyed the Darren and Lee (Macmaster) collaborations and am disappointed to hear they fell out. I always thought they made a good pairing due to Lee's extroverted bold personality and Darren's more quiet, "straight man" quality. I hope they will bury the hatchet eventually and do more London videos because life is too short.

Ive nothing against DJ and I want him to do well because of his job situation but I think Mac is prob more genuine (many dont agree) and I have to say DJ sells himself as a top critic of food and a top maker of food - I only do a basic You Tube channel but I would trust myself as a cook and as a critic before DJ But like someone said last week its just an opinion and we all have them. Have you seen the channel reviews I did in my You Tube n Me series ? I did one on DJ and also on Mac amongst others

I dont walk around with a camera as they all do Davy so you will never get to see any meet ups in Tenerife, but its great to have you on board. As for honesty it is all you will get here - BUT you wont always agree with what I say - that for me is just life and I feel we should all be allowed an opinion. I must admit, Macmaster has every right to call out bad food or service, but I find he praises virtually all of the places he reviews, even though some of them are obviously really bad. Just check out his video when he took his family for a Christmas meal. Not once did he complain to a member of staff even though the food they were served would have been unacceptable in a soup kitchen! I haved mixed opinions on DJ. I got fed up with all of his hard luck stories, yet he managed to pay over £1,000 to have a crash helmet painted! Some of the places he reviews are super expensive, so how is he struggling? I don't bother with his channel any more. The best food reviewer on You Tube is Gary Eats by a mile.

He keeps reminding us of his 30yrs experience on Tenerife but all he does his moan on about his problems. So boring. On his latest he is giving up on his rapping experiment. I mean a man of his age trying rap on middle aged audiences. Complete knob
I hadnt heard Mac call Shelley (that I must admit surprises me) I think she is a great vocalist, I knew Rick wasnt happy with the Knightstriders video. Got to say I dont mind Rick's channel at all though can understand that it wont suit everybody, that said i do wish he was even more up front with his viewers (he should of named the resteraunt and the reviewer) - and I do feel he can too easily take things to heart NOT GOOD when your running a You Tube channel. As for the rapping bit in my early 60's it wouldnt be for me -he was talking about trying to be a comedian I for one would of hoped he would of gone down that route. In fact let me add to the above -2 or 3 of Rick's videos are 2 or 3 of the best Ive seen anyone connected with Tenerife ever do
