You know there's something very Melancholic about Cremia saying "someone out there sees you as an adult" just really hits home that nobody remembers you. When you really think about it Ocarina of Time Link's biggest regret is that nobody remembers his deeds and this game is basically that on infinitum.

Immediate example I can think of is the Windmill guy. Like they'll remember you until the end of time. But Majora's Mask is a perpetual cycle of having a clean slate. Anju and Kafei don't remember you once you go back in time and got them married

I'm fairly certain Marche is talking about how Link in the child timeline gave up everything for Hyrule and lost his childhood and nobody even knows who he is. The original bet was crating a game in 6 months if I'm not mistaken, but obviously they extended development time. I'm sure dialogs were still being implemented far in development, that could explain so different interactions.

No, you misunderstood, and her words are way more ominous and crushing than you think. It's "My friend is getting married soon, too..." She thinks Link has witnessed a marriage, since that's the purpose of the Couple's Mask. It has nothing to do with Kafei and Anju's marriage being too soon. She then wistfully says "Soon..." because you know what else is soon? The end of the world.

I love how the in game lore is set up where wearing a mask of someones face means that you are looking for them... if the game didn't have inventory restrictions I'd be curious about how others would react to wearing the masks of other NPCs faces... though this sounds like it would be a lot of work...

u know that Cremia is hinted at being interesting in Kafei right? There are some dialogues, even from her younger sister, that explain that detail that is key to understand this.
Romani says (while wearing Kafei's mask btw) that her sister Cremia actually likes someone in town but that same person she likes is getting married impling that Cremia does in fact like Kafei. I'm pretty sure the wiki states this as well.

I love the theory, but the offficial Zelda Encyclopedia book lists Anju and Cremia as "Close friends" while the arrow to Kafei says "Secret crush". It's kinda sad they ended up giving us that information, it's way more fun to speculate on these things, imo.
secret crush is a mention to Romani telling Link that "there's someone in town that Cremia likes". So if you put all the dialogue options together it has to be Kafei (or maybe even Anju )

I feel if the Majora polish was given to OOT, it would be a perfect game. OOT was a good template for what came after. I feel OOT was stiffer, like maybe I'm wrong but I don't really recall facial animations being there. Romani has more animation in her step I feel too. MM is not perfect, there are things I'd have added. For example, Romani helping Link fight the ghosts, even something simple as her throwing arrows at you if the logistics of having an NPC aim was too hard or her being there made it too easy without making her flat out redundant to make it harder. This could have been done for the milk chase too. I'd like it if the implications of time travel were explored more. Too. This isn't the right video to go into much more detail.
This game took 1 year in develovment, 1. And no, I'm not trying to come with the "too short time" stigma but is less compared to the 2 and half years Oot take. Devs didn't wanted to make something complex given how little time they have and yet they managed to quite did it on some ways. Not perfect? Ok, how many uniques dialogues/endings are in oot depending on what you do or not do, are there more sidequest/secondary missions other than Epona and BGS worth doing(doesn't need to have a unique reward, good deeds count)? The game is more than perfect but ok if you say so.

Maybe the "not perfect" sentence could be misenterpreted that way but I grant you is not the case. I simply wanted to remind you factors such at the time both games were made and the implications of having to add more with the time given, the solely reason most of mm npc are reused models from oot was to save time. However if it was the 3ds remake I would agree that they should have done so much more other than "hey this eye is my weak point".

Plus it seems to lean more towards just being just done by kafei's moms constant annoyance, given how she knows that the moon is 100% going to kill them all and is just seen in the game as a tired, pessimistic girl that's already accepted fate. And while Im not saying anything of the sort about Zelda being a LGBTQ excluding game series, there is (as far as I know) no lesbians or even gay people in this game. Breath of the wild seems like the only one as of recently to start really making characters that want some linkussy.

It's not known, but the doubt he is]) And from the answer at the end "Kafei is not here" we understand that she knows that her mother Anju accuses her (or would accuse her) of having run away with Kafei.
I like how this meshes with what the Owl says to Link in Ocarina, how he's like "Link, you've fully matured as an adult" to kid Link.

I love how the in game lore is set up where wearing a mask of someones face means that you are looking for them... if the game didn't have inventory restrictions I'd be curious about how others would react to wearing the masks of other NPCs faces... though this sounds like it would be a lot of work...

I think Cremia's "friend"😉 is Kafei, because she says that her friend is getting married "too soon", implying that Cremia didn't get enough time to win him over. She then refers to Anju as "some middle-aged woman" which shows her resentment towards their love for each other, and could also mean that Cremia and Kafei are closer in age.

Always figured the two were just really good friends and she is being assumed by Anju's mom to be the one Kafei is presumably cheating on Anju with. u know that Cremia is hinted at being interesting in Kafei right? There are some dialogues, even from her younger sister, that explain that detail that is key to understand this.

I mean, one can read that, but in all likelihood the implication was that Cremia and Anju were friends and both had feelings for Kafei, and Cremia is hiding it because it would risk her friendship with Anju.
The reason Romani doesn't assume a gender is because back then, people didn't clarify gender. Boy/girl was considered normal and anything else was labelled as odd, no matter how much people try to retroactively pretend that the late 90s, early 2000s were progressive. Not saying you are, but am saying they weren't.

I love the theory, but the offficial Zelda Encyclopedia book lists Anju and Cremia as "Close friends" while the arrow to Kafei says "Secret crush".
It's kinda sad they ended up giving us that information, it's way more fun to speculate on these things, imo.
secret crush is a mention to Romani telling Link that "there's someone in town that Cremia likes". So if you put all the dialogue options together it has to be Kafei (or maybe even Anju )

I feel if the Majora polish was given to OOT, it would be a perfect game.
OOT was a good template for what came after.
I feel OOT was stiffer, like maybe I'm wrong but I don't really recall facial animations being there. Romani has more animation in her step I feel too.
MM is not perfect, there are things I'd have added.
For example, Romani helping Link fight the ghosts, even something simple as her throwing arrows at you if the logistics of having an NPC aim was too hard or her being there made it too easy without making her flat out redundant to make it harder. This could have been done for the milk chase too.
I'd like it if the implications of time travel were explored more. Too.

This game took 1 year in develovment, 1. And no, I'm not trying to come with the "too short time" stigma but is less compared to the 2 and half years Oot take. Devs didn't wanted to make something complex given how little time they have and yet they managed to quite did it on some ways. Not perfect? Ok, how many uniques dialogues/endings are in oot depending on what you do or not do, are there more sidequest/secondary missions other than Epona and BGS worth doing(doesn't need to have a unique reward, good deeds count)? The game is more than perfect but ok if you say so.

@@fanthonyfictions You should take your own advice because at any point I didn't say you hated mm, nor did you say anything bad or good about the game. Maybe the "not perfect" sentence could be misenterpreted that way but I grant you is not the case. I simply wanted to remind you factors such at the time both games were made and the implications of having to add more with the time given, the solely reason most of mm npc are reused models from oot was to save time. However if it was the 3ds remake I would agree that they should have done so much more other than "hey this eye is my weak point".

And while it could be that she's just sick of Anju's mom bothering her, it's Kafei's mom that gives the mask and for someone she supposedly loves, Cremia seems totally unconcerned about Kafei. Not even a "he's not here but please find him"
So, it's entirely possible she's actually interested in Anju...

Hell, I only said it's *possible* and just taking things into account. When Romani brings it up she even mentions Cremia's love interest as "that person" and not "him" or "that man" when it would've been incredibly easy and likely felt less awkward than "that person" unless it was *supposed* to be vague.

I mean it is pretty much implied by the fact that her mom specifically is giving cremia h ell by insinuating that he ran off with her. Plus it seems to lean more towards just being just done by kafei's moms constant annoyance, given how she knows that the moon is 100% going to kill them all and is just seen in the game as a tired, pessimistic girl that's already accepted fate.
And while Im not saying anything of the sort about Zelda being a LGBTQ excluding game series, there is (as far as I know) no lesbians or even gay people in this game. Breath of the wild seems like the only one as of recently to start really making characters that want some linkussy.
