I just got a 99 taco. The first thing I did was get the stereo and speakers upgraded. I gotta say I am super addicted to moding this truck. I will be updating just about everything I can on this truck! Thanks for the tips
Just bought a 99 Taco TRD extended 4×4 3.4L/134kmiles. 1st thing was stereo and alarm with remote door actuator locks. Then did the Tunda big brake upgrade in the front. Has new shocks and struts w 265/70/17 ATs on 6 lug 2020 TRD 4runner rims. Repainted the Toyota FJ Voodoo blue. I stole this zero rust zero accident Taco for $8k
2004 Tacoma with 204K that I bought new. No issues with mine either :) I have leveling kit on it now but plan on getting a 3 inch once the current shocks wear out. One of the best automobiles ever.
Lots of good info! I got the same truck!! Ended up ordering the oem shocks on eBay for $500 bucks, the first pair lasted 20+ years! My hood looks the same as yours lol
Nice lift, thanks for the video. Painting my 2004 tacoma prerunner with raptor liner, so far have the hood and tailgate in olive drab green. Looks and feels great, should have the rest done in a month or so.
This is great info as I think about which Tacoma to buy. I was at the dealer and looking at a 2021 TRD Pro and could not get my head around the price. My truck will be used to get on the beach every morning with my dog, haul some junk, lumber and tools now and then, plus a paddle board. Think an older one set up like this is better, hope to get some more education from you. Also check out the Yakima Overhaul, it's a good customizable rack for the bed.
I dive that exact truck. I painted the hood already but the roof is still bad. It needs struts so im in the process of getting a lift. The truck came with new falken tires and i love them. I did swap out the wheels for factory 16” from a 2019 and it looks amazing.
I’m sorry I have a k02 now Are used to have the grabbers which chopped on me and I rotated every 3000 miles I also got the grabbers from Walmart do you something you should never do
Moral Productions, First of all “Nice Tacoma “. So your rear is about 1 Inch higher than your front? I am about to pull the trigger on 2881s with Icon progressive AAL + Bilstein 5100s all the way around. 2002 TRD EXT CAB 4wd. The only thing I question is my stock Leaf Springs? 180,000 miles?
@@MorlaProductions Thank you for responding. Very well done. A few questions please 1. Did you have to take eye bolts out of your stock shackles to add the icon AAL-New bushings? 2. Any squeaking and are they sagging? Now that you have had the icons on for a while, what’s your honest opinion? Thank you for all your experience/advice.✅ My stock rear end goes a little sideways when I hit a good bump on interstate?
I did similar lift, and my drive shaft is vibrating the whole truck. I installed carrier bearing spacer, and new u joints, but still vibrates. Not sure what’s going on…
Super informative video thank you so much! I just got a 2004 trd extra cab although it’s on spacers and the ride could definitely improve. I’m thinking about the OME leaf kit in the back and was wondering what would be some good springs and shocks in the front as I want to build some custom metal bumpers that would be fairly heavy
You can get 883 springs and nitrocharger shocks if you want to keep it all OME. Those springs are made for Tacomas with a heavy bumper. 5100 shocks are a good option too if you want to save a little money.
I'd like to ask more about the parts you went to buy and how you knew those parts would fit the truck. Since I have the same truck only a 04 and I wanted to ask some questions if your available to talk to?
I have the K02 because I’m not able to get the 265/70/16 because of Covid. I have the grabbers but they seem to chalk call me inside front call that’s why I went up to the 17 rim Any ideas on the vibration greatly be a help
Hey thank you for the video I have a 2002 Tacoma double cab TRD for some reason I get vibration neck feels like it’s coming from the driveline but I’m not sure it’s got 170,000 miles on it and I’m on Is set of 265/65/17 Which is the same size as yours I’m not sure where the vibration is coming from it’s at 65 miles an hour I’m not replace the carrier bearing cause I don’t have a lift any ideas thank you for your time
Awesome video! Message us at directly (through our main website) if you would like to do an installation video with any other of our kits. Keep up the great work! -TORCH
@@MorlaProductions im really debating it. trying to spend the least money possible..i'm thinking of OME springs like what you got and I'm hoping the factory UCAs will suffice. Do you have your Bilstein's adjusted to the highest level?
Nah you’ll be fine with stock springs at that setting. Make sure to take measurements before and after so you know how much actual lift the truck got. You should make a video on the truck after everything is installed. I’m really curious to see how it turns out.

Super clear and simple guide to lifting your Yota. Thanks!
Got a 01 prerunner with 328k, I’ve had 4 sets of falkens and I love them, smooth on/off road

I love that look!
Even looks great with stock tires, very well done!
Omg yes! You simplified it for me. Thank you! Looking to do this some day. But I have a 03 Tacoma base model. I want to give it a pre runner/TRD look
best lift I seen! where did u get it done?

Glad the video helped. Tacomas are known to be pricey but they are worth every penny!
Considering your frequent trips to the beach, I would steer clear of a new truck.
Thanks for the info, this is just what I have been looking for. New subscriber.
Toyos all day! I’ve had Falken but if you want a commuter on road only, the Toyos are tough enough without being too noisy like my Falkens were
Nice👏 lift and powerful 💪 truck!
Toyota! 👍👌👊
Sure is!
Keep the 1st gen vids comin
Great detail video, thanks for the help!
One more thing make sure you go through tire rack for your tires their customer service is amazing amazing

i personally think the lift with stock tire size looks great
Cheap and Fire !
Great vid.
Did you get your parts from suspension lifts? If so what option did you select on the rear shocks? Showing three different options for me.
When buying the shocks, would you get both rear and the front or only the front and keep the stock back ones?
Front and rearboth
In my experience, the BFG KO2 are slicker n sh!t in the rain, Id recommend the toyos

Any updates on this set up 🆘🆘🆘
By any chance do you have a link to the add a leaf you purchased, I want to make sure I order the right one?
Hey question bro I have a 2001 Tacoma 2wd I don’t do off road but I want to do a little lift kit spacers is that going to work well just on road??
Go with Raptor liner I did and love it, I did Toyota lunar rock paint color. $500 bucks
I have the exact same truck and just wanted to ask what are the oem tires u got on it
Did you have any CV issues? I'm looking at this same setup.
Where did you buy your springs?
Was going to use my old springs with 100K miles 2004. crew cab

could be a tire
I have new BF Goodrich 16s tuning at 26 lbs like what the door says
Did you retain the overload leaf or take it out?
did you keep your overload leaf with the aal?
Nice info!!! did you have to relocate the rear brake cable? What brand of lower ball joints did you use?
Thanks! I didn’t have to relocate the brake cable and I went with Moog lower ball joints. No issues so far.
4WD or 2WD Prerunner?

Nice truck but you might be better off with different rims and painting your fenders black
I just recently painted the flares on my '01, made a huge difference in the appearance.
