@@thomasmcknight8589 just picked up my Copperhead SG CVO. order the box but I am doing Android so from what I am taking nothing other than cables is needed?
I used this splitter and it worked flawlessly using a USB drive with tunes on it as well for my Apple car play. I connected the Bluetooth device to the USB-C side with a USB-C adapter and my USB stick to the USB-A side. The USB-A side carries data. The USB-C side is power only.

Hello! This is the easiest option I found thus far but I am looking at other ideas. The only option for a tuner on the VVT motors is still HDMC and most of the feedback is not great on the base tune it offers. The key with the new 121" is to get more air in but balancing how lean it runs is still a challenge. I have hopes of updates from Harley but many are hoping for an aftermarket option which has yet to arrive.
I’ve heard same. I just put the wedge heavy breather on (check engine light is on now but no codes). I’ve purchased tab performance mufflers - need to slide those on. Then I bought the SE Tuner and need to install. I don’t want to mess up the factory warranty so thought I needed to use their Tuner.

Hi, Thank you for all the great videos. I have a question about the volume. I have found when I am on the freeway and have the volume all the way up on both my phone and the bike I can hardly hear the music coming out of the speakers. On my 2020 Ultra, I had NO problem hearing the music coming from my speakers while on the freeway.
There are multiple volume settings in the new system. You might try turning off the automatic volume and set device volume up. Settings - Sound - Application Volume & Auto Volume Control. Lastly see what your equalizer is set to. The '24 non CVO speakers are not great and feedback has been they don't work at speed.
thanks for the video. I have the 2023 RG CVO and am constantly losing Bluetooth connection, it so irritating. So, are you saying that with the devices, that my iPhone will be directly connected to the bike and will not have to rely on the Bluetooth? If so, do you also turn off the blue tooth on the iPhone or do you leave it on? Does the bike decide how to pull the information from the phone, in otherwards if I have the iPhone Bluetooth on and connected with these devices, does the bike decide to receive information from the wired connections over the Bluetooth or vise versa? thank you. Just trying to determine if I need to disable the Bluetooth, if I am wanting a constant connection to the iPhone with the wired connections, because I am so tired of losing connection to phone. Thank you
If you delete the CarPlay paring - settings - carplay then connect your phone to the bike via USB it will prompt to enable wireless CarPlay which you would decline. This will ensure its not using BlueTooth. HOWEVER you will still need a headset for CarPlay and the only way to do this is via BlueTooth, you cannot connect a headset via wire. However since this video I showed how to install this option under the seat. I have found this work really well and then eliminates the need for this adapter. NOW as to which headset adapter you pick will determine how realiable it connects and stay connect. I purchased several that would not stay connected. The UGreen and MadeHawk ones work well. But I am using a different UGreen than most other UA-camrs. Check out the description of this video: ua-cam.com/video/_QYg2finzOA/v-deo.html
Great update. My bigger question is: will this option allow me to use Apple Car Play/Navigation while charging the phone and let me use my flash drive (1600 songs) to play at the same time. My 2020 SGS lets me use navigation and flash drive simultaneously.
Using wireless CarPlay and charging via the USB C port and then your USB media in the A port should work. Let me put together a test and I will verify.

This USB splitter gets super-hot. So, I tried it with my setup. Carpuride W702 powered via USB and a 128mb thumb drive for music. It won't recognize the thumb drive when both are plugged in. The other crappy part is this HD system won't recognize multiple Bluetooth connections, so it always outputting the sound to a headset and not thru the speakers. I've tried every possible connection and the only one that works is powering the Carpuride separately with a power bank. This works but can't play music via Bluetooth so I have to use the thumb drive which this system can't play what you want unless you make up a playlist.
Hello! I have not had any issues with the BCLink getting hot so not sure on this one. Are you using he Carpuride for Android Auto or other? For Android Auto I am having good luck with this ONINCE product: amzn.to/3Sw9KmL This AI box is also working as a headset so you then have a free USB A port with power. I do think you will need the Carpuride connected via the USBC port for sound. Remember the BCLink adapter only supports data on the USBA port. The USBC port is really meant for inbound power but the "bus" part of the adapter has just enough power on it to power something small like the headset adapter. @@dino5254 I have to assume you did not have the latest SkyLine OS then of which included a Bluetooth fix. Good to know! Enjoy the rally, looks like the weather has been good this year.
I think its frustrating that Harley have left out the cigarette lighter port thats on the earlier models. On my 2019 RGS I use the cable in the right cubby hole to connect a memory stick with about 300 songs, which I can easily change regularly, or use for system updates. On the left side I plug in a usb-a adapter and plug my phone (Android) in there for charging and store it in the left cubby hole. This works perfect for me as I love using the Boom GTS for navigation (with Ride Planner) and I can still receive my text messages or use my phone for music if I wish. I can see I could still make it work on the 24's but I think its a backward step of losing a external power outlet
Many would agree with you. We need to accessory power options. I have found posts of people converting one of the heated gear ports to USB power. I have purchased some cable to see if I can get this work for less money. Video coming! We may just have to run something up from the battery to the left cubby. This I think is the more ideal scenario.
I used your link & ordered the splitter for my 2024 road glide. If I am using a flash drive (usb-a) that I used on my 19 Street Glide to play music, do I still need to get the wireless headphone adapter in order for the 2024 radio to play music from the USB-A port? when I plugged in my USB-A thumb drive into it, it's still not reading my music?
You only need the splitter if you want to use the headset adapter. If you just want to use your flash drive for music you do not need a headset connected. So a USB C to A should let you read your thumb drive.

Hello, Since the built in headset feature of the Camecho will no longer stay paired after the update you would need to split the USB A Passthrough port. However I would recommend installing the headset adapter under the seat using the heated gear and just use the passthrough USB A port to charge your phone. I don't you will have enough power through that USBA port on the Camecho. The built in headset feature of the Camecho worked great before the SkyLine OS update for me, but I would try it and see if it will stay connected for you, if so you won't need the headset adapter at all!

The USB C on this adapter is not powered nor supports data so no. You must plug the iPhone into the USBA for charging / wired CarPlay with this setup. I however should have an improved option here in the next couple of weeks!
I tried the adapter, but it didn't work for my needs. I plugged a USB 3 flash drive in for music and that works fine but tried the USB-C to charge my iPhone 15. It will not charge the phone. Do you know of an adapter that might work in a situation like this?

Yes, it would convert wired CarPlay to wireless and yes you could use it over the built in CarPlay in this new infotainment system. I have not had enough time with it to prove any advantage.

I don't believe this will work on the older CVO's that have the WHIM installed. The WHIM is looking for a Harley Branded headset. I have not tried this setup at all with anything other than the '23. Is your bike seeing the headset at all?
In the headset setup it is connected but it doesnt show on the screen and therefore will not launch Carplay. I think it must be a Harley Branded as you mentioned but it was worth the try @@ITFZone
Correct! The USBA port on this adapter is a passthrough port so it will support power and data. The USB C port is really meant for inbound headset use BUT in our our case it provides just enough power to power the headset adapter.
I will add that I will soon be testing an updated adapter that will eliminate the need for this adapter. May be a bit ( month or so ) before its available.
Indeed, the hope is that we would see a software update, of which we now have for the '24's but not the 23.5's. I believe the headset requirement is most of the issue. If that is not present it can't go back and try again.
I hear the latest ECM update stops no start problems and also places a speed limit of 100mph. Down 20mph from the last update. Seems they are always looking for an easy way out.@@ITFZone
No it did not. I could not start carplay wired or charge my phone with the "headset" port. It will not pass data and did not have enough amps. I know there is an example out there of it working but in that example they are using wireless carplay and a phone mount with charging.
Thank you for the advice. I saw an adapter with lightning cable port instead of type A port. This can be used with old iphone lightning cabled headset. Wonder if it works.

You have the USB male that thinking out goes to the USB C on the bike then you have USB A female and then the USB C female is power input if it’s power input can it charge and all?
No there is only 1 USB C connector on these bikes! Many are converting the P&A connector or the heated gear to USB BUT this is only for charging and no data. I have a video on this option.
The USBA is for data and the USB C is just power. However we have found that an iPhone will not power off of the USB C port. Not really sure why as it indicates 100w and we only need 2.5a for an iPhone. I am looking into another adapter and have purchased a USB V / W / A tester. So updated video coming shortly.
No not at all. The ride is so much improved but I would say I had higher expectations of the motor company, expected some bugs but they have been slow to respond.

The built in headset feature of the Camecho worked great before the SkyLine OS update for me, but I would try it and see if it will stay connected for you, if so you won't need the headset adapter at all!
@@ITFZone Thank you. I actually watched your under the seat video and ordered the Gerling wire through your link after I'd sent my original message. You're a life saver. Hopefully this all works. LOL
@@nkslider If not reach out, happy to troubleshoot!
Hello with this set up can I play my music from my Apple Music through car play?
Hello, technically yes but it may be more than you need. I assume you have the new Harley Infotainment system and you are not planning to use a headset? If so you only need the headset adapter vs the splitter. I am about to feature a better option.
@@ITFZone I also want to use it to charge my phone so do I need the whole setup than?
Correct you would HOWEVER I have a much better option coming in the next week or so if you can wait a bit. Stay tuned!
Can the Bluetooth adaptor not plug into the USBa without the adapter and the iPhone on the USCc?
The USB C on this adapter is not powered nor supports data so no. You must plug the iPhone into the USBA for charging / wired CarPlay with this setup. I however should have an improved option here in the next couple of weeks!
I tried the adapter, but it didn't work for my needs. I plugged a USB 3 flash drive in for music and that works fine but tried the USB-C to charge my iPhone 15. It will not charge the phone. Do you know of an adapter that might work in a situation like this?
Hello! I tested this and came up with the same result as yourself. Really not sure why the iPhone will not charge from the USBC Port. It is rated for 100W and we only need 20W. I have ordered this option and will update on my findings: amzn.to/3V6CGnj
Did you update your findings? I just bought the cable and adapter and cannot charge my iPhone 15 pro max. Please let me know if you have found a solution.
@@charlesmascali1941 Your phone should charge through the USB A port with an adapter. It will not charge through the USB C port but the USB Headset Adapter will power on. There is just enough amps through the passthrough USB C port for the adapter. I can confirm my iPhone 15 Pro charges through the USBA port.
Great, perfect !
Thank you! Cheers!
¡Gracias!
Thank you! Appreciate your support!
thank you again i just bought the adapter
Great! Let me know how it works for you!
@alanincenraljersey Thank you for the great video. Unfortunately the Meadhawks our out of stock. I picked up a similar blue tooth plug and cable from HVMLAK and it does not work. So I need to source another one that might work. Any ideas what is different with the one you are using? Thanks!
This should work for you - UGreen BT Headset Adptr: amzn.to/3uCyzEZ
@@ITFZone That is the female version. Don’t I need the male version to fit in with the splitter that allows me to charge my phone at the same time? Thanks!
I see what you noticing but I think its just their case that makes it look like a female USB connection. Should connect with a USBC to A adapter. If you are using the BCM splitter the USB A port is for data and the USB C is just charging so ideally you would use your phone with the USBA and this adapter with the USBC. @@sharkeymusic9165
Thank you!!!!
Is it accurate to say that with this setup, I can run my "magic box", the "headset delete" tool, and charge my phone?
Would depend on the magic box. If the box has a passthrough USB A port it will charge your phone.
sir: i have a '21 street glide special with usb a. i bought a usb to 3.5mm jack with the intent of listening to the radio. it did not work. how can i listen to the harley radio with wired earbuds?
I suspect just as with the '24's your bike wants a wireless headset. So you can use a Bluetooth adapter and pair that as a headset and then connect your wired earbuds to the adapter. BUT you would need a WHIM installed on your '21 for the bluetooth headset option.
Out of curiosity, does the magic box work for Apple CarPlay?
Yes, it would convert wired CarPlay to wireless and yes you could use it over the built in CarPlay in this new infotainment system. I have not had enough time with it to prove any advantage.
@@ITFZone It was more curiosity than anything. I didn't know if you had tested it with an iPhone or not. As always, good info Tom! Thanks!
Thanks

hello , I wonder if you know la possibility to use an other system for car play .... I have see online the accessory on - TIMS STEREO SYSTEM - if ya what do you think and where I can buy it . I write from ITALY THANKS
Hello, Not sure I am following any other system? See my video on more USB power which is what the Tim's system is other than he is using the P&A port. The Gerbing cable would be easier for you to obtain.
@@ITFZone Thanks
So I got the splitter and the headset adapter. cant seem to make it work on my 2019 CVO rg. Any suggestions?
I don't believe this will work on the older CVO's that have the WHIM installed. The WHIM is looking for a Harley Branded headset. I have not tried this setup at all with anything other than the '23. Is your bike seeing the headset at all?
In the headset setup it is connected but it doesnt show on the screen and therefore will not launch Carplay. I think it must be a Harley Branded as you mentioned but it was worth the try
@@ITFZone
Indeed was worth a try. My '18 did not have the CarPlay option but I had to use the branded headset to get stereo sound!
Ordered. Thanks
Awesome! Appreciate your support!
In the friction zone!
Yes!
🙏
I got car play on screen but when I try to play my Sirius app or pandora or my music on n phone nothing comes out of my speakers.
I would make sure your audio routing is still set to speakers vs headset. - Menu Button - Settings (Gear) - Audio
I dont undestand...if I connect iPhone with usb-A, it recharge too or not?
@@ITFZone ok so if understand correctly…usb C give power to dongle usb Bluetooth and usb A transfer data and charge iPhone together? Correct?
@@GianlucaSeno Correct, only the A port can support charging and data with this adapter.
@@ITFZone great news but I see another video so that I'll connect under the seat :)
This didn’t work on mine. CarPlay tab never became active
Its important that the headset show as connected and be set to Rider. Happy to troubleshoot with you but it is easier in email: ITFZoneEmail@gmail.com
It makes you wonder why HD cant make the display connect and work in the first place.
I was able to get this update yesterday! I won't spoil the surprise, video coming here shortly!
0:28 does this adapter work?
No it did not. I could not start carplay wired or charge my phone with the "headset" port. It will not pass data and did not have enough amps. I know there is an example out there of it working but in that example they are using wireless carplay and a phone mount with charging.
Thank you for the advice. I saw an adapter with lightning cable port instead of type A port. This can be used with old iphone lightning cabled headset. Wonder if it works.
Ah so you are looking for a shorter cable option with the lightning connector. I have one that I was using until I switched to the iPhone 15, I think its a 4inch usba to lightning. Happy to send it to you, just email me your info: ITFZoneEmail@gmail.com
@@ITFZone Great! I shall email you later today.
holy cripe, i'm going out to lay down on the freeway..
Indeed! I must say especially when I first got the bike I had to keep reminding myself to not mess with the screen! I do anticipate some issues with first time riders of these bikes.
You have the USB male that thinking out goes to the USB C on the bike then you have USB A female and then the USB C female is power input if it’s power input can it charge and all?
Sorry no, only the USBA port can charge. However I have been working with a company to solve this problem! Product due end of October!
Is there a USB or USB-C connector under the seat that’s similar to the one in the front?
No there is only 1 USB C connector on these bikes! Many are converting the P&A connector or the heated gear to USB BUT this is only for charging and no data. I have a video on this option.
I tried to hook up my music i pod to the USB adapter to play music and it won't work on my 24 CVO ST the USB signal does not light up.
@@ITFZone Thank you appreciate it
I bet you have buyers remorse on that CVO
No not at all. The ride is so much improved but I would say I had higher expectations of the motor company, expected some bugs but they have been slow to respond.
So fare the only fix I have seen is an ECU or ECM flash / Update. THe 121 VVT seems to be great. I think the silver was a piss poor color choice for a CVO Hd cannot sell those bikes now for $40K@@ITFZone
Agree for sure, paint is such a key part of a Harley Davidson and it just felt a bit of a cost savings choice.@@richpuller1348
Once you tricked it isn’t CarPlay also wireless too?
Yes wired or wireless.
