Rhino Demo Team - Based out of Naval Air Station Oceana, VA, the Strike Fighter Squadron VFA-106 will show off the incredibly powerful military capabilities of the F/A-18 Super Hornet during their single-ship demonstration.
The Super Hornet entered service in 1999 as a replacement for the F-14 Tomcat and are the second major upgrade to the F/A-18 program. As a carrier-capable, multirole fighter aircraft the Super Hornet can take on a variety of missions such as a fighter escort, air defense suppression, and day/night precision strike.
Every demonstration requires precision and meticulous teamwork. From startup to flight, this finely tuned process is orchestrated by the aircrew and maintainers working synchronously as one.
