I can’t imagine The Last of Us being first-person. Thank God they went with third-person. Rarely does first-person surpass third-person gameplay, in my opinion. It’s attractive for developers because it’s easier and less expensive, but the gameplay suffers. There are exceptions - like BioShock and DOOM.
And even those would be better in third person anyway. The argument that FP is more immersive is also BS. Actually seeing your character with realistic movements, proportions, clothing and physics grounds you even more in the world than any first person with awkward looking hands and arms and weird field of view ever could
Asian studio's are kicking it out the park with the single player games. They have become the best market to make single player game's because they don't have DEI Consultant companies poisoning their studio's. Black Myth: Wukong will be like Helldiver's 2 the day after it's released and everybody will get to see what the game is really like and they will buy it. All the china hero single player game's coming will be the next genre to take over the souls like genre. Single player games are back.
If we have the option and the third person mode is equally as if not even more polished with proper animations and physics, then yes, I would be ok with it too. I Love ND but an FPS is already a Hard sell for me.
With the Timeplitters trilogy coming to PS premium next week and the possibility of Halo on PS5 coming as well certainly interesting news for fps players.
I was always excited about Stellar Blade because of what its success could mean for the Korean game industry. The country is full of game devs, but they've only been sticking to mobile or multiplayer PC. It wouldn't be too difficult to transition those devs into making single player games. Korea (I call it that because SK is the real Korea) is already a pop culture powerhouse in almost every other medium. It's about time they rise up in the single player video game space. I imagine Koreans could make some awesome rpgs.
1) Kinda rubs me the wrong way until I realize I think of games like Bioshock and Deus Ex so fondly. 2) Forza Horizon was the big game I was hoping to see to be honest, aside from new releases. 3) Still looking forward to Project M from NCSoft.

Never Pre-Order anything from anyone. Sony games are fantastic but undoubtedly have been interfered with by these consulting companies now. So have most media outlets that put out “reviews” so don’t trust them either. The best way to judge it is by yourself, trust your eyes, how the game looks and feels TO YOU. If there’s a demo Play It! Don’t let other’s opinions influence what you do or don’t play. But if you want to get someone else’s opinion that you trust anyway (as we all do) let it be from someone other than a journalist. Let it be from another ACTUAL gamer that cares about the type of game you are interested in. ✌️✌️

Many of the games PlayStation has in development are new IP. Bend Studio, Naughty Dog, Santa Monica Studio, Housemarque, Media Molecule, and possibly Bluepoint Games are making new IPs
IMHO the old console war b.s. is stale and needs to end. Let all games go to all consoles. Then performance will be the ONLY factor we need to make our choice on. Encourages hardware improvements!
It's got less to do with fans console war, and more to do with companies wanting your time and money. They won't get that by putting all their games on other systems. Why do you think a big metric now is player engagement?
@@bradblackmore2627 wrong. The game of the year award has been awarded since 2014. Since then 11 games have won the award. Of those 11 games,only 4 were exclusives. Not to mention other great games that didn't win like red dead redemption 2,doom eternal,resident evil 4 remake,etc.
I like fps games, but only on PC. Mouse and Keyboard is exponentially superior to controller for shooters. Devs should always offer support for M&K on consoles. It can't be that hard since every fps game already support M&K on PC.
@@DeathcoreManiac That's your opinion and I respect your right to it. But I, and the vast majority of PC players, find M&K far better. It wouldn't hurt to add the control scheme to console versions of fps games. Controller controls will always be there.
I’ve been gaming on XBOX since their inception into the console space. I love many of their IP, I just don’t agree with how they have been moving post 360 generation.

Resident Evil 7 was great in first person. Makes it more immersive and terrifying.
