Call of Duty Finest Hour- Stalingrad Opening Music

- The opening theme to the Stalingrad level in the World War 2 game Call of Duty: Finest Hour. This is a fantastic game, and this piece is very beautiful. It is an orchestral version of a hymn called Oh The Deep Deep Love of Jesus and its usage is very stirring. Enjoy!
“Welcome to Stalingrad. You’re about to begin the greatest moment of your life.”
Those were the words that started a life long passion for history.
i was 4 years old when i first played a videogame and it was this thing here and i still love it
Bro same.
@@charalampossken6332 dude no way Me too
I aced a history paper in 4th grade on the Siege of Stalingrad thanks to this game lol
I was there too, I still am.
remake this whole game. Most beautiful COD game ever
The first man in line gets a rifle, the second amunition
And there you are running around with this ammo clip. And the guy doesn't even know your name, "YOU, follow me and follow my every order or I'll shoot you myself. You, PICK UP HIS RIFLE"!
Funny, that is literally American propaganda. But still an iconic line.
The man with the rifle shoots the man without the rifle follows him the man with the rifle is killed rmthe man without the rifle must pick up the rifle and SHOOT!
@@OXY187 no, it is actually purely a popular misconception lol. The Russians were able to mass produce small arms, tanks, airplanes, etc. at an equal or even higher rate than the Germans towards the middle and end of the war (especially once their industrialization starting taking off). Even in the beginning they typically had enough to keep the men armed (they even had a surplus of weapons left over from WWI they could use if they truly had to). Sure there were specific instances where supplies were cut off or suicidal charges were made, but equipping their men with guns and ammo was never systemic issue for the Russians.
"When the first is killed the second takes the rifle and shoot!"
If CoD would remaster this game like Halo did with CE it could turn this game into something truly special.
+Zach Zier
Absolutely!
Zach Zier Indeed
But instead we got WW2 a scattered as fuck version of Big Red 1
Last time I checked, they were to cheap to consider a remake
Potato Nation that makes no sense lmao.
A 16 year old game has more charm and soul than Vanguard, prove me wrong.
You’re 100% right
Cowards and traitors will be shot!
No one can prove you wrong. Because you are CORRECT. Although, I prefer world at war over finest hour, it’s still an amazing game.
You can't be proven wrong. Simply because, Finest Hour, World at War, the original trilogy, they had heart and purpose, their devs had passion in telling a story. Vanguard is a mindless cash grab.
I agree
My first cod in ps2... And the best cod all of the years... Uuhh... My old days...
Me too
+Muhammad Adi Amir oh Ottoman Emblem cool !
Behiç Işıklı Thank you bro, I'm not Türk, but Ottoman is my dna 😉😉😉😉
@@Amir-yz9mx love mehmed❣❤ "الفاتح"
The only COD I love tbh
Man, this brings back memories. Finest Hour was my first Call of Duty game.
Back then, you were just a soldier, no one particularly special. These days, you are a member of some kind of elite unit/Squad, and you have to Save the world, win the war or whatever. Mind you, this is mainly in the Modern Warfare games, although Dimitri in WAW was a damn invincible hero.
Still, it's good to hear the old music, I remember this game, particularly the first few Russian levels, as being the best for me
I'd always get stuck on the first American mission in Berlin I'd always almost immediately
I just now noticed after all these years that the music for THE best COD was composed by Michael Giacchino.
I MEAN MICHAEL GIACCHINO DID THE MUSIC FOR THIS LEGENDARY GAME!!!!!
Spectralite
I have this game otherwise I wouldn't know about it.
He also did Black as well, good soundtrack
and Medal of Honor: Allied Assault. Its theme was awesome as well.
started on call of duty 1
Medal of Honor Frontline, for me, has his best themes, and I love Star trek, the Incredibles, alot of his big Cinema stuff, but Frontline is perfect.
"Our Bolshevik party, our nation, our great country have given us the task not to let the army reach the Volga and to defend the city of Stalingrad!"
"enemy" not army. Still though the speech still gives me the chills so much better. The old call of dutys have an inexplainable charm to them making unique and precious on a whole new level.
"FORWARD, AGAINST THE ENEMY! UP INTO THE UNREMITTING BATTLE COMRADES, FOR STALINGRAD, FOR OUR GREAT COUNTRY! NOT ONE STEP BACK!"
and then you can't forget the shock when two guys jump of the boat and the commander pulls out a pistol and starts shooting at them.
i couldn't believe what i was seeing.
@@winchelseabeach4863 they have only one order: NI SHAGU NAZAD (not one step back).
Classic games FTW! I still own most of the classic CoDs... and i still play them quite everyday and night... i cant stop playing them, nowadays CoDs dont really match to these ones! Have a great time playing the classic games, dont stop loving them, they are the best
True i hate all from Modern warfare at least batlefield is new this year i think
yeah i remember why they call it call of duty, and didnt meant a common murica's soldier whos a fuckin super hero with rambo styled combat wich saves the world by saving his friends.... what i most remember from the classic cod games is that they made you feel in the battlefield that some times makes you creep, oh! and that fucking sewer stage, that made me nightmares, once i finished it i didnt wanted to play it again, i could replay the whole game except that ass scary stage
Edwardo Franco yea the sewer one was actually my fav... i hated the dam one :/
Edwardo Franco that shit was hard when I was a kid I mean hell your in a tunnel with nowere to hide and there's a damn mg nest of mg42s on the end of ghe damn tunnel
yep, and the wrost part is if you die you need to start all over again :V
This was the very first game I ever played.
Its not exactly a game a 5 year old should be playing though.
The Pariah I think Mortal Kombat vs DC was good bridge for me, going from kiddier games to more mature games.
Ayy I played it when I was 5 too
Well unlike you guys I started small with Mario party ds...
Same here
Who cares
I liked it better when COD wasn't about some little kid screaming
Hector Vargas true
Yeah
Wow the kid screaming thing was already started more than 7 years ago eh
True
One of the best COD ever made, not like those new little shits.
True that homie, this game was my child hood
In my opinion this one IS the best!
Sure
hasandeeenhorn weird videos when little Kiddies weren't getting Hyped about some Downlodable Content that doesn't contribute to the game . and when there was no raging no squeakers or Microphone using kids that are just plain stupid
Play the real call of duty 1
Welcome to Stalingrad, you're about to begin the greatest moment of your life.
I remember getting only a clip of Mosin ammo and just going "Really?"
It's dark as hell mostly but this was back when cod wasn't a shit show.
This song literally brings me to tears every time I hear it
It's like one of those moments when you see someone you know, or love killed in front of you, or if you see them dead on the ground.
It's sad really.
I know this was 5 years ago, but I'd like to tell that this was a song about the love of Jesus and how deep it was. This melody was taken from a hymnal and turned it into an epic childhood piece, one where I would like to come and listen sometimes.
My First Call Of Duty Ever Played. The nostalgia is insane. And this soundtrack signifies WAR, GLORY & HONOR.
Same here
This is just so beautiful and glorius song!
This was literally the first video game I ever played, when I was 8. That opening area made an impact on me that is still there today. This game, to me, remains on par with any video game released today.
Te hace poner la piel de gallina esta musica......
Give us back the good old once cod 1 and 2
Nostalgia :")
Essa parte chega a arrepia até a alma 1:11
Sinceramente eu acho essa uma das músicas mais lindas dessa franquia e a missão onde essa música toca para mim é a melhor missão introdutória de toda a franquia!
This song i last heard in 2004.. when i was 5... and it still haunts me!
this game brought out the russian in me ( im from russia) so thanks COD
LegioN Gaming noice
This is it. It's with this game and this theme I discovered the CoD franchise when i was 13. Feel old yet. I always remember the first word of this campaign "Welcolme to Stalingrad...". I remember the assault of Mamaiev Kurgen on the second mission. The epic soundtrack.
This is some amazing music to an amazing game. Medal of Honor frontline also had a great soundtrack and was an amazing game! I’m so glad I grew up with these games…… this music should be used in hell let loose.
@FlippinDingDong It is "Once for Evey Man and Nation" by James Lowell
best call music ever made
I was so hyped when this came on consoles when it was announced at E3 2003 but I actually played the PC version too at the time and Finest hour campaign and multiplayer was stacked
I put this song to my Dog. And he became a COMRADE lol
Hoy se cumplen 11 años de este hermoso video
If it wasn't for this game cod would've never put games on the console and make it what it is today
It was worth it. It may have spawned a load of sh*t, but it was worth it.
them feels :')
This should be a remake today to people who never played it
Yes.
The first cod game I’ve ever played and I loved this song dude
"Man with thr rifle shoots, man without the rifle follows, if the man with the rifle is dead man without the rifle picks up the rifle and shoots!"
Old is gold for a reason, games had souls way back then...
So many memories... i play thia game with my dad oans grandad, all huge fans or ww2 history... back went cod games were about history, tales of veterans and good histories.
When ever I listen to this song my life flashes before my eyes
I remember playing this as a 5 year old not being able to fucking aim for shit. And now coming back to this, brings back nostalgic memories.
@MedicalTerrorism Thank you so much! I was wondering why I was having a hard time with the song provided in the description.
2018 and still playing this awesome COD
I have to agree CLASSICAL FTW even after 10 years i still look hack at my childhood and crie everitiem....games will never be the same
Thank you for the wonderful mention of great words..... I fear I would have forgotten if not for you good sir. Thank you.
Old cod was emotional and will leave a deep after feel plus the soundtrack which new cod is very little in
Ahhh Finest Hour was so much better than the PC version of CoD 1.
Well,i kinda disagree with you, consider that CoD is one of the highest rated classic PC games, but heck.I respect your opinion
Fikri Aiman Well considering that you probably played the PC version first and I played Finest Hour first, our bias makes it difficult to think the other is better. We could always state our reasons for thinking one is better to see each others side. The reasons I liked Finest Hour more was because of the narrative, the way every character had a video biography that began a chapter, and because all the characters were much more diverse(African American Tank Operator, Russian Female Sniper, British Force in Africa, Soviet Grunt In Germany, and American Commander in Eastern Front).
ussocomfreak I've played Finest Hour on my PS2.Definitely one of the few greatest PS2 games i've ever played, but i dont know which one is better
GrinchGrog I have to agree with you, I prefer cod 1 over finest hour. But in CoD 1 it's kinda ridicilous that Soviets used lugers instead of TT-33's and MG42's instead of DP-28's. Aaand many other funny misplaced weapons.
But United Offensive fixed that issue. FH has however balls, and I like the weapon crosshair more, it's more detailed.
See - the fidelity and the quality of the missions themselves were much better on CoD1 - it was more polished and more cohesive. THIS game was much more emotional and gritty and visceral. They were two different experiences. One was action and one was horror.
Sweet childhood memory! COD is and was my life ever since the first came out. I had a server in United Offensive when I was 14yo. Had server in COD2 and 4. Played a lot with 5. Torrented the MWF2-3 Black Ops I and II. Than I stoped. WW2 was the returning and now the Warzone is rulez. But if I would have a chance to play with COD1 and UO remastered... I would deffinately die happily.
Now that i’m here I don’t think I ever even finished this game.. this is when COD was about realistic Campaigns (as most games were at the time since online wasn’t as common a thing) that took more than a few hours to finish and ACTUALLY got progressively more difficult. I think I made it as far as being part of a tank crew or something.. I remember being trapped in a city square or something along those lines. I remember being PISSED and giving up and I don’t think I played it ever afterward
I remember seeing the trailer for this game on TV
I thought this song was based on the hymn: Thy Strong Word. I just listened to it and they sound real similar.
+Jason Fenton That's because it is. Slightly modified to have a bit more of a "Soviet" sound to it.
+Jason Lammers (MetalCharizardGaming) The description claims it is based on a different hymn.
Jason Fenton Different words, same music.
+Jason Fenton the tune is called "Ebenezer" and is used in a number of hymns including "Thy Strong Word," "Oh the Deep, Deep love of Jesus," "Once to Every Man and Nation," and "Who is this, with garments gory"
Best games I ever played
aw yeah!!! that was my game right there!!!! i loved it it seemed more awsome when i played it when i was like 5 man i miss those days......
@hlsmurderer It's in the description, it's a Christian hymn called Come O Spirit.
Unlike any other tracks, this is not an original composition - this track is a remix of a CoD 1 track that was internally named "redsquare_charge".
The original song is actually a Christian Hymnal called oh the deep dep love of Jesus, beautiful song. Great game by far my favorite CoD game of all time
this music soooooo perfect amd wow wow really wow i love it this is music of anger and sadnes at same time😍😍😍😍👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
AA man brings back the old days
This is where it started for me
this song gives me the chills I feel like im fighting in the war when it plays truely beautiful great way to honor the ussr
the composer of this track is Michael Giachino
God this brings back memories.
I play this game how I have four years. Nice game. And I from Poland
URAAAAAH!
As a kid i really had some problem to beat this game now man those memories
I can picture the boys in Z moving forward to this music
Yes, there WERE versions of this game for PC but I don't know if there are still any copies of it on sale. My advice; try to look up sources on the internet. Hope this helps.
The old Call of Duty Games when it actually meant something to lose a teammate.
Big Red One for the win!
@philosophy7575 Yeah the opening scene to the game, when the city of Stalingrad is seen for the first time as its burning and the entire sky is blood red and filled with smoke and embers. this track is approperate because the impression of the city is like an image out of Dante's Inferno.
I want one of these videos for when the dudes charge. I wanna hear THAT song again.
i miss this man.
@cootester what are u? living under a rock all this years?
ITS ALWAYS A GREAT GAME EVER BEEN MADE WITH EMOTIONS AND ACTIONS EVER
I remember this part from the game my gosh the memories
The guy who scored this game was Micheal Giacchino, who scored movies like, Jurassic World, Rogue One, and Dr Strange.
"The one with the rifle shoots the one with the ammo follows him, when the one with the rifle gets killed the one who is following picks up the rifle and shoots"
Thanks to my older cousin, this was my very first PS2 game.
The man with the rile shoots the man without the rifle follows the man who has the rifle!
When the man with the rifle is killed you without the rifle, picks up his rifle AND SHOOTS!
Oh, such wonderful music for such a wonderful game! Where did all the good old CoD go?!?!
хорошая музыка
❤️ this is so beautiful and sad 💔
This was my 1st shooter game ever so many memories :)
Made me very sad and had flashbacks of the days from the great lenin to now
SpetsnazHunter
When I hear about cod I think of this... When I see a cod game I think of what Miley Cyrus used to be... Until she hit her period....
Back then cod was respectable and relied on REAL battles to make its points... First time I played cod was with a ps2.... It's hard to believe cod used to be THIS GOOD!
Gabe Layfield why did the devs to this to us. The beloved franchise that held our hearts is making a star wars meets cod.
we need a remaster
I loved this song since the first call of duty ever.
Ah the nostalgia
@mrharmonica100 depends on how busy it is. i mean if your bleeding or have broken bones then they will take you in right away because your priority with bad injuries and they put you first, but if you have the flu or anything else minor you just wait in the waiting room, and in my small town with waiting rooms full of elderly people, i can ussually be seenby a doctor within the hour. so I dont complain.
This music also appeared in the first CoD in red square and stalingrad landings
I remember playing this as a kid. A great game back then and a hell of a soundtrack. However as perhaps my first exposure to the story of the Eastern Front I now look back on how misleading it was. It perpetuated the myth of one rifle between two men and the Hollywood interpretation of blocking detachments (Commissars) gunning down 'cowards' without a second thought.
To be fair, Commissars gunning down running soldiers did happen in Penal Battalions
+arat360 A minority in the army, and even if they did shoot deserters, it was generally only if they were inciting a rout in their fellows.
It makes no sense to waste able bodies.
Nostalgie...
mine too and its still awesome ah this song brings memories=)
My first Call of duty game too
"Welcome to Stalingrad, you are about to begin the greatest moment of your life"
Isn't the movie enemy at the gates based off of this game? Someone told me it was. The opening on this level and the opening in the movie are the same.
@dancefool68
LOL, best parody ever. You, Sir, can have the internet.
The man without the rifle follows, the man with the rifle shoots.
Call of Duty will NEVER again amount to the greatness of the early games. We can only HOPE, and that is all.
My first Call of Duty *sobs tears of nostalgia*
