While in Houston Nigel caught up with UA-cam chef and all around nice guy Joshua Weissman. They discuss Joshua upbringing and how Nigel can tell he "didn't grow up with money", why Jeffrey Dahmer could have been saved if he was handed a frying pan and Joshua's passion for water.
0:00 - Joshua’s background and the peculiar gift he wanted for his birthday as a kid
7:10 - Why Nigel thinks Jeffrey Dahmer should have been a chef and Nigel’s ideal brothel…
17:07 - Why Joshua feels bad for Jamie Oliver, how Nigel can tell that Joshua didn’t grow up with a lot of money and Nigel reveals how bringing up prenups is seen as taboo.
30:13 - Joshua explains why he is a water connoisseur and Nigel makes his case for why a little segregation is a good thing and will stop white people dying from skin cancer.
43:20 - Why Joshua farts on planes and Nigel thinks a passenger disgruntled by a Joshua fart killed his wife. Also the guys discuss the work ethic culture in the states compared to the UK.

the reason they move after death is because the muscles communicate with the nerves through pathways that are triggered by sodium ions. The ions bind to the receptors on the nerves, which releases chemicals that travel to receptors on the muscles, causing them to contract. These kinds of movements are independent of the brain in a situation like the fresh dead fish described here, though in life signals from the brain are responsible for releasing the ions in the cells that induce the ionic cascades that trigger the movement.

I love watching the Uncle Roger persona videos, but I think Mr. Ng is a man of my own heart. I love it when someone can make these strange crossover type combinations of talent where the person's multiple skills frequently have virtually zero overlap. Nigel is a fantastic cook-roaster and an absolutely hysterical comedian. He has earned all 7.4+ million & 187+ thousand subscribers (between his "mrnigelng" and "hiyaa" channels respectively) through his extraordinarily developed skills.
Nigel is just one of those dudes that I would absolutely love to meet one day because he's such an amazingly talented dude that doesn't allow the absurdity of our modern society hold him back. I respect the shit out of him and I'm really excited to see what he's going to be doing in the future.

I love that Joshua found his "thing" when he was a kid. I've always been very envious of that be used I didn't have that kind of support for it. I absolutely DID know what my thing was as a kid, but it happened to be firearms/metal working and my mom was insanely opposed to it (despite my dad having lots of guns and literally being the VP of a tool and die shop.) My dad bought me my first rifle at 10 and I was ALWAYS out shooting (which my mom hated, but she was usually at work when I would go shoot in our backyard of 10-12 acres.) Then, as I got a little older, I started learning how to run all of the machines in the shop and how to use different CAD programs to design things. But the metalworking industry is so sparse and non-competitive (compared to countries like China, India, Bangladesh, etc) that I had very few opportunities EVEN IF I had pursued it to the degree I would have needed to be successful, but I was always discouraged from it.
Our education system is a massive failure be use it's teaching kids how to pass worthless tests rather than teaching them how to become great at their interests. We don't prepare these kids for life, just the next test that they will take to get to study something they're not passionate about.

To Uncle Joshua and Nephew Nigel, how interesting you two bring up Iowa at the end of the podcast 49:56! I just moved from Des Moines, IA, to Redding, CA, to work as a pharmacist. I am originally from Fresno, CA, yet my family moved to Evansville, IN, in 2006. Including Indiana and Iowa (where I went for pharmacy school), I lived in the Midwest for 16 years. I still agree with Nigel about not wanting to live there long-term. Activities are limited plus there is little to any ethnic diversity, unless you venture into a larger city like Chicago. Living in the Midwest is overall suitable for folks who prefer a more quiet, slower lifestyle. Joshua is right about Iowa being much less populated than a place like Houston, TX. Thank you for sharing about your Iowa adventure, Josh. Sorry to hear about your airport transport struggles!

It feels right to me and honestly even if someone like that shows off their newly found wealth/success a little bit, its ok to me, its well deserved. Not to say that Joshua or Nigel are show offs, quite the contrary, however I feel that even if they were, it would be understandable to me, both are fantastic at what they do and its awesome that they can enjoy a more comfortable life ;)

Flying and cooking are very specialized skills. Your cooking appliance has to be FAA approved. I flew business jets for 4 years in the USAF. Our food was cooked from scratch. It had to fit in our microwave convection oven to be cooked. Open flames, no bueno. This level of cooking was awesome and delicious. Our flight attendants spent a lot of time learning to prep and cook. They produced amazing meals for the VIP passengers and lastly us pilots. Producing food in jets isn’t easy or without concern with quality.

I live in Vancouver and I ask for tap water here because it tastes great and I also ask for a lot of ice, so when it's super cold, it doesn't taste like anything (and I just like the sensation of icy water). I'll spend a tonne of money on all sorts of food at a restaurant, but I don't want to pay a bunch for some bottled flat water that doesn't even taste as good as our tap water. This does not work in most cities though.

Different ethnicities mean you may have a predisposition to certain illnesses. I never thought that this was me being racist, just curious and trying to help until a patient said that this is racist. I have tremendous compassion for the guy, not the least of which comes from his being fantastically funny in his natural straight man persona (the comedy technique, not the social notion). The more he’s put into stressful situations he has absolutely no training or inclination for, the more he rises to the top.

Lobster story..many years ago I had my grandmother over for dinner and decided to dispatch a lobster..I used to just put then head first in the steamer but I tried to be cleaver and do the quick way...well I came in a bit to quick and some how managed to not only stab through it...the cookie sheet it was on and the knife got stuck into the counter top...and naturally it's tail went nuts flipping up and down a million miles per hour... I my knife was stuck and the handle pulled off when I tried to extract ..my grandmother laugh so hard she was a mix of laughing and crying...lol first time she ever had a lobster steamed that ended up being ripped in half because it's unbranded claw grabbed my while I was trying to extract what was left of the stuck knife...all and all it was the best lobster dinner my grandmother ever had...whole situation was such a funny mess that I forgot about her two pound bag of steamers

Nigel to make you feel better my Dad taught me how to cook lobster, he taught me to essentially decapitate the lobster alive before it gets cooked. The whole process literally was a medieval torture room for a lobster

@41:24 there is no reason aside from the ability to add a custom Carbon Monoxide removal system. The planes are pressurized to ~8000 feet (Actually less pressure than sea level and is why the seasoning is increased on foods on planes.) while at cruising altitude, and that bleeds off if the engines do not run (THe pressure comes from bleed air from the engines and is processed through the air handlers/conditioning packs. They are built to provide environmental air only, not to process internal air. The airframe will leak air. And that was taken into consideration with the pressuration. It was not designed to extract pollutants from say cooking, (although the plane would probably smell marvelous).

Joshua is awesome as always. I feel sorry for the awkward, contrived, cringing questions he was dealt with, though he handled it with grace.
