Do the wiring in this video also include the defroster wiring? If not, how do you install it? I've read the instructions, but im a visual learner. thanks
Edit: Update to my experience with these mirrors after a year. I have found that rows of the LEDs, primarily on the bottom half, sometimes the whole bottom half on one side, will not work. Sometimes all rows will work, but at this point, the second row from the bottom on both sides of my mirrors rarely lights up. The product is very nice when it is working, but for $150+ I would expect to get more that 4-6 months out of them before rows start going out. I just finished installing the driver side mirror on my 2016. It looks good but I should not have started that project so close to sundown. Did most of the project with a small LED light and will only have one installed going out tonight. Just a tip to anyone doing this. In the video I only see the one black wire. On my '16 there are 3 black wires on the drivers side which led to some confusion on my part. After cutting some of the electrical tape I was able to pull the wires apart more and found 2 of the black wires to be in a pair. The third wire that is by itself is the one that needs to be tapped into. Also the side of the taps that you connect to the black and red wires for the mirror aren't very good. I had to pull them apart, crimp the wires in, and put them back together. When I tried crimping them as a whole the wire kept falling out.

Do these have anything to do with the power windows? My power window switches in all my doors don't work anymore. Everything was fine for about two weeks and now it doesn't. Would it be the wiring became loose or something?
Eric Lee While I am not sure if this will fix your issue, I did see this note on an installation video for installing the STI mirror turn signals. It is basically the same process as these. -Note: After you unplug the driver side window switch, the Auto Up/Down feature will not work. You can easily recalibrate it by simply rolling down the window and then rolling it up and holding it for 2-3 seconds after it closes. It should start working after that.
Ali Moeeny Yes they are visible. GM and other brands have been putting this in their cars for 5yrs+ from the factory. I would only see it as being distracting if you drove with your blinker on. And i f you did that this would tell you it's on so you can turn it off. ;)
I have a 2016 base wrx. I ordered the JDM wide angle mirrors. Do you guys have a video that explains how to wire these up so the heat/de-icer works?

Passenger side doesn't have two holes to pry the mirror off... wish you would of shown this on the install

Eric Lee These would not affect the power windows. We would recommend checking your fuses.

For BASE WRX please use the GRAY and BLACK wires at the bottom. GRAY (Positive) Black is (Negative)

These turn signals match my 2015 Subaru Impreza I think they could fit. They match up alike
Or you can just peel off the mirror without taking off the cover, unless you’re doing more wiring.

my base model does not have a small hole for the outboard clip. I have no idea how to take it off without cutting a hole, which i dont want to do...

I dont see an answer on how to wire up the De-icer function on the base models that didn't come with pre existing defrosters.
I don't think this is an option that can be added that isn't factory.
Correct me if I’m wrong but those signals are only in the mirror, so invisible to other drivers. What’s the advantage?

Are the LEDs visible to the driver? isn't that distracting? I mean doesn't it prevent the driver from seeing objects in mirror especially at night?
