Quick analysis of Runes forehand: Rune has a fantastic forehand. It is simple and reliable. The reason for this is because of his early and short preparation. He emphasizes keeping his right arm on the right side of the body at all times until the follow through. This ensures the racket is behind the ball trajectory of the ball without any excessive movements reducing potential errors. 🍪 thanks for the great video and analysis. I was in Indian wells during the third round, so I don’t get to see/record any practices this time around, but this is definitely worth the price of admission.
Who is this? This Dominic Thiem is hitting some heavy deep balls with ease, he doesn’t even look like the same player when he’s playing a match. I think this basically confirms that his wrist is fine, there’s just something subconscious holding him back once they say love all. Really hope he figures it out. I also wish he’d talk about it a bit more publicly. It just seems like there’s something we’re all ignoring.
In my humble opinion, his wrist is not good, but the biggest problem is in the service because with first players he usually has a 20 percent effectiveness, it is statistical although I could be wrong.
Rune's weight transfer is godlike, i can't tell if it is just because his legs are longer, but he looks so efficient in going through the ball. Thiem is using mostly rotational force and it looks weak in comparison.
13:10 the difference between one and two hander: one-hander can hit indifferently one or two-handed backhand, while, on the contrary, two-hannder cannot hit properly with only one hand on the handle...
You do great videos of these practice sessions. But those two women prattling on in the background don't seem to be concentrating very much on the players. Lol. Also has the Australian Open always had clear plexiglass on the ends?
Fear of injury or anxiety, what is going on with Thiem? so weak forehand and backhands I never seen at Thiem. I do not think he will ever come back. Some coaches were saying his wrist injury was caused by an improper technique and if at this level you start changing the technique is a dead end road.
No this is regular speed. It may look sped up because it has no motion blur and is filmed at 60fps. I record with a high shutter speed so the image can be paused and there is no blurriness so you can analyse their technique. If you would like to reduce that effect, you can lower the quality of the video so that it's not 60fps :)

Rune's forehand technique is so freaking good
I think I find listening to the spectators conversations just as interesting as the tennis... 🤣
Some things had to be cut out because it wasn't appropriate in the slightest 😂

"hey baby, I probably would have been better than both these guys if I just stuck with it... You ever had a rose slushy?..."

that's probably why Thiem had so many upper body injuries, he really janks it with his upper body and arm
Nice camera !
Great angle and interesting analysis, so.. 🍪🤣

His technique was awesome before
I personally feel like he's also lost a lot of lower body muscle. I think that has influenced his inability to generate a lot of pace
All they need is one tennis ball.
both players have very mechanical, manicured looking strokes.
Thiem looks clumsy
He is to late with the racket on the backhand. The ball is then to high over the net. It seem's nobody care's about that.
WTA is a joke😂
sped up by 10%?
