Viruses, solemns, Pots, Forbiddens (dress, Chalice), Polymerisations, Book of.., Twisters (MST, cosmic cyclone, ect), Raigekis, just to name a few. Lovin this series... mini series... whatever. Edit: Little something i thought up would be like a historic pack analysis, like how "This" main set affected the meta and what decks looked at the time. Would be a lot of work and a long series, but an interesting one
Josiah Vock That card is really good in ancient gears. Surprised it was in the dino structure deck and not in the ancient gears. It works with catapault
FullTimeSlacker go re-read the card bro it can't be target or destroyed by card effect not unaffected. I'm assuming since you have ability to comment on UA-cam you have the access to search on Google a yugioh card...
You and i both maybe it's kaijodo fault remmber ? The 5 elements cards ? Monsters with attack of multiples of 1000 and no deffence ? Check room of nightmare or something like that it's a dark spell
Floodgate Trap Hole saw a lot of competitive play in Duel Links when Cyber Angels were really strong. FGTH and Enemy Controller were the best ways for us to shut down Cyber Angel Dakini (who was summoned on turn 1/2 consistently thanks to the balance and restart skills). FGTH isn't as good right now since Cyber Angels aren't as good (they've been hit by the ban list, and they lose to Spellbook of Fate and Amazonesses), and since Sylvans tend to blow up all our backrow. Duel Links likes Treacherous Trap Hole now.
I remember playing one of the very early yugioh PC video games (I think it was called power of chaos yugi the destiny). I was pretty young back then but very much into the game and the Anime, and I still remember Yugis chuckle before he shouts "TRAP HOLE!" whenever you summon a good tributed monster.
please do a " best ritual cards " in the game every ritual card has effects that help the archetype....chaos form can ritual summon from the grave.....the gishki ritual cards can get back to the deck and bring back a gishki ritual monster.......
You know, when I was trying to get my friend back into Yugioh, one of the first questions he asked me was "Is Trap Hole banned?" This was in reference to the original Oh, how the times have changed...
Break off trap hole is great in Traptrix, and is used when you link summon Sera. Since Sera only points backwards, your opponent must have a link monster pointing towards useful monster zones to avoid your break off trap hole. The Traptrix you have are completely safe, due to their effects. Really useful against decks that don't spam link summon, and can wipe a board easy.
I love these videos! A very informative stroll through yugioh history :) I remember when Bottomless, Book of Moon, and Effect Veiler got even better when priority disappeared and suddenly they could actually function as a pseudo-solemn
13:40 Yeah Floodgate Trap Hole was played a lot since September 2017 after it was released in Duel Links. But now players are using Treacherous Trap Hole more now since Spellbooks were released this May 2018.
I run D.D. Trap Hole in Traptrix because the Traptrix are immune to Trap Hole effects. So in the end, it's a somewhat situational Acid Trap Hole but banishes instead. I also run Acid Trap Hole in my Flip decks because it doesn't prevent the flip effect from going off if used on yourself.
The Man who sold Za Warudo they won’t hit sylvans. Also, you could just tech cards like Desert sunlight. Check my comment on my experience with floodgate using geargias if you can find it.
Chaos Trap Hole is even better in Counter Fairies. Easily searchable, recyclable, and no cost. Floodgate Trap Hole is very effective in Ghostricks, along with Quaking MF. As for other ideas, the Swords Of cards? Swords of Revealing Light, Swords of Burning Light, Swords of Concealing Light, but also Wall of Revealing Light, and also that really strange Swordsman of Revealing Light monster. They aren't really Spell or Trap cards, but the Ghost hand traps?
Bottomless Trap Hole was good a few months ago in Duel Links, but when Sylvans became popular the trap fell out of favor since it didn’t work against monsters special summoned by Rose Lover.
Funnily enough, because Floodgate was one of the only trap holes in Duel links, for a while it was a incredibly popular, and was played in almost every deck. After a while though, it was creeped from the meta and it is now barely (if ever) used.
Also, flood gate was very popular in duel links for quite a while but has recently lost popularity. It still sees play occasionally, usually in burn/stall decks, but it’s still pretty good. It’s funny, because one time my opponent floodgated my geargias I special summoned with ties of the brethren and I used desert sunlight to flip them back up, then I just reset them using their effects. Good times.
A good chuck of photon galaxy deck special in defence position, like soldier, when you summon G.E. Photon dragon off of knight. Galaxy expedition, Galaxy trance summons monsters into defense position. Photon sanctuary summons tokens in defense position. So cards like double trap hole that can stop summonings in defense position can hurt photon galaxy decks.
I recommend covering the "Pot of" cards. Like Pot of Greed, etc. There are quite a few of them, and many have seen competitive play. Of course there are also some silly, garbage ones for comparison. Ditto the "Jar" monsters, many of whom were TOO powerful to be played. I like this series, keep it up!
And yes, floodgate was played (and it was a staple) for 5 months... But then hey trunade came to the game and killed a few decks who depended of their back row (Gladiator beasts, Amazoness-Lava Golem burn... And completely killed the Sacred Phoenix deck that was still used for his back row removal)
Rank 4 turbo flip-effect builds, my love, run rafflesia with acid trap hole bcuz it flips them up then back down. Since pot of the forbidden has (2000 or more defense) it flips back down and its effect triggers still. Ripping a card from their hand, and since you know know what the opponent is playing, you can set up your board proper.
Floodgate trap hole used to be really popular and powerful in Duel Links, but ever since the release of Sylvans and Masked Heroes is has become too slow to be really usuable. I think that is mostly due to it being a reactive card in a game where you still need every card in your hand to set up anything close to resembling a decent board. Also there are only fusion monsters in the extra deck so the card doesn’t lock your opponent out of them.
Floodgate Trap Hole is good in Duel Links, but not for the reason its good in the TCG. Its just one of the only Trap Hole cards there. We'd play normal destruction and targetting if we could. Tribute summon monsters are also fairly common (Hazy, Sylvan, etc.), but it was also good in burn / stall decks to force tributes for Lava Golem on your opponent's field, removing the safety net of only owning one monster.
It would be interesting seeing a discussion brought up about the Virus trap cards, seeing how the latest structure deck was focused on these Virus cards
Make sure you don't forget about Pendulum Hole👀 It's not a "trap hole" but it's a "hole" trap and it's in the spirit of the other trap hole cards. I was going to side it when Electrumite was released for the pendulum mirror since it's searchable by Duelist Alliance but then the banlist hit magicians really really hard.
I read some comments and condensed some of the suggestions so lets start: virus trap cards, crush card virus, deck devastation virus etc. :Swords of... revealing light/burning light etc. :Pot of... greed/duality/desires along with the jars: jar of greed/avarice etc :Solemn Judgement/strike/warning etc. :Forbidden Lance/chalice/dress etc. And finally my suggestion is the "C" cards: Max "C"/Confronting the "C" and others anyway thank you for reading this whoever you are and remember that you are awesome :)
Floodgate was the best trap in Duel Links for a while and was a staple at 3 in almost every control deck. Nowadays it doesn't see any play as traps have fallen heavily out of the meta. Interestingly we recently got Treacherous Trap Hole inDL which is now proving itself to be one of the best defensive cards in the game, period.
A ruling I haven't been able to find anywhere is how does D.D. Trap Hole interact with Traptrix's "Hole" normal trap card immunity? I know that if it's a Traptrix monster set, Acid and D.D. ignore their immunity, since they aren't face-up to apply it, but what if you activate D.D. and use a Traptrix as the monster you target that you control? It says to destroy and then banish it, but since face-up Traptrix are unaffected by "Hole" normal trap cards, would they be destroyed by D.D. Trap Hole when chosen this way?
Maybe the "Storm" series of backrow removal cards (Heavy, MST, Twister, TT, Cosmic, etc.) I know there are a metric ton of them and they are all themed around storms in some way.
Next set of spells and traps should be the Pots and Jars and the duality (no pun intended) of how all of the jar cards are just worse pot cards to "balance" them
Pretty sure Bottomless doesn't even work on stardust, at least in Tag Force 5 it doesn't. However Compulsory Evac does, and one of the most annoying card to play if you main Stardust. Caius, provided that you have your tribute on your turn also a good removal.
Extremely powerful in duel links cause only 3 monster zones and non targeting, the Debate goes back and forth with paleo canadia and floodgate traphole
I’m a little new to this modern game, but if you chain Break Off Trap Hole with your own link summon would it be better or is it still not worth the looks based off of other options available today?
Doug i know you have already talked about some of the fusion spells in other videos but a video about all of them can be interresting... or not i don't know but it's a suggestion
Couldn't you summon a link monster with arrows pointing to the monsters in your zones for protection and then blow up anything you want on your field to get an effect and anything unlinked on the other side? Seems like a selective black hole/ graveyard sender
Will you please go over these two structure decks I have for me because I need help on deciding if they are good or not it’s the saga of blue eyes white dragon and the realm of light Bc I kinda think they are good but I hear from you to see if they are actually good or not
If your opponent pendulum summons, do all of the monsters have to have 1500 or more attack to activate bottomless or can you activate it regardless and only the monsters with 1500 or more attack are banished? And if they're pendulum monsters would they just got to the extra deck instead of being banished?
"Noone wants to sit here and listen to me talk about trap hole for 30 minutes" this is entirely false
2 years later and this is still entirely false
Dzeef 30 Minute Trap Hole Analysis Type Beat
Watching these two videos back to back, absolutely isn't true.
Ooooo you should do the Virus trap cards next
how about the series of SWORDS OF REVEALING LIGHT cards?
ZTW1234 Swords of Concealing Light being my favourite
Josiah Vock That card is really good in ancient gears. Surprised it was in the dino structure deck and not in the ancient gears. It works with catapault
It only has like 3 cards to it tho
No just revealing light cards
Spiritual swords of revealing light
#enoughsaid
Actually, Adhesion Trap Hole is perfect counter against Chaos MAX. Totally worth playing
Pokémon Chat-eau Podcast a Kaiju would be faster, and better if you we forced/choice to go second
Pokémon Chat-eau Podcast magical cylinder is clearly a better trap against the chaos max meta.
FullTimeSlacker go re-read the card bro it can't be target or destroyed by card effect not unaffected. I'm assuming since you have ability to comment on UA-cam you have the access to search on Google a yugioh card...
Romulus Numa does cylinder target?
EddieP9524 it was a joke
when i was younger I thought the trap hole art was a monster reaching for a ball of light, rather than a hole. I was a dumb kid lol
You and i both maybe it's kaijodo fault remmber ? The 5 elements cards ? Monsters with attack of multiples of 1000 and no deffence ?
Check room of nightmare or something like that it's a dark spell
I can relate. The one I had was darker colored making it even harder to notice that it was a hole.
MY GOD NOW I CAN'T UNSEE IT.
Tom Sassi
Sucks being you then
TheBeachFiend when the monster goes to heaven after drowning
Yes! Very exciting to see my idea get actually made into a video. Thanks Doug!
You missed astrograph sorcerer lol

What about all the "Pot of" cards?
Also Jars.
WHAT DO THEY DO
Pot of wEED
גיא קרוננפלד
Draw half your deck
Not every hole has a trap but every trap has a hole
Idk. A lot of holes are traps.
This comment got my dick hard
Especially those dark holes
Trap hole is the best hole tho
When I saw your comment, how do I say this...
I GOT AN *ERECTION*
Actually I do want to sit thru 30 minutes of trap holes so I'm going to wait for the next video and watch them both in a row
It's a...trap opening video?
Sounds like it belongs on PornHub
Madra new title, "Reviewing Every Hole (Traps)"
"No one wants to sit here and listen to me talk about Trap Holes for thirty minutes."
You don't know your audience very well, do you?
Yes Floodgate is a good card in duel links
Yet treacherous trap hole is constantly in popular cards
Floodgate Trap Hole saw a lot of competitive play in Duel Links when Cyber Angels were really strong. FGTH and Enemy Controller were the best ways for us to shut down Cyber Angel Dakini (who was summoned on turn 1/2 consistently thanks to the balance and restart skills).

Duel Links likes Treacherous Trap Hole now.
josh hull nobody cares LOL
I never realized that the artist just gave up on Goyo's right hand in Deep Dark Trap Hole
relatable tho
Next video. Review every draw card that ever came out.
I remember playing one of the very early yugioh PC video games (I think it was called power of chaos yugi the destiny).

“Immediately power crept after a couple of years.” Real smart, Dzeeff.

Oh, how the times have changed...
Troll Face Yeah
Back in 1999 when OCG Volume 1 first came out
solemn cards next after trap holes?
Fun fact: "Solemn" Traps are "of God" in the OCG. For example, that weird LP-gaining Continuous Trap, Solemn Wishes? "Blessings of God".
Elijah Padilla So grandpa on card is actually Dad? Shit
Elijah Padilla That explains the old bearded man in the series then.
@@elijahpadilla5083 Does that mean solemn johnson is actually...
Maybe the solemn trap cards next? And make it together with the forbidden spell cards. Sounds kinda interesting
A video on Bamboo Swords would be neat
Isn't there only like 4?
I'd be into watching more of these like Pots and raigekis.
Break off trap hole is great in Traptrix, and is used when you link summon Sera. Double Trap Hole Works Against Superheavy Samurai
Floodgate used o be good in duellinks but got powercreeped. by the fact that it doesn't do much against recent top tier
Whenever they hit Sylvans in Duel Links I'm sure it'll come back. Its very good against every other meta deck besides it.
The Man who sold Za Warudo they won’t hit sylvans. Also, you could just tech cards like Desert sunlight. Check my comment on my experience with floodgate using geargias if you can find it.
Cat Like Thief well they did hit sylvans
sour fortunately. I didn’t think they would considering it requires cards from a box.
Sylvanas are mostly powercreeped now. An the quick spell which negates a monsters effect is highly effective against it
Chaos Trap Hole is even better in Counter Fairies. Easily searchable, recyclable, and no cost.
Floodgate Trap Hole is very effective in Ghostricks, along with Quaking MF.

Maaaan this series is poppin'! So glad to see you making the yugioh content the community needs.
A good chuck of photon galaxy deck special in defence position, like soldier, when you summon G.E. Photon dragon off of knight. Jaime Gonzalez are you talking about duel links?
fhsrthj jtryhjert yes, but i forgot to write that xd
Yeah, floodgate was pretty scary in duel links for a long time. I don’t see it as much right now but it’s still really gops
*good

12:00 oh man how things change
how so?
"no one wants to sit here for 30 minutes listening to me talk about trap hole"
it is the best type of hole
It would be interesting seeing a discussion brought up about the Virus trap cards, seeing how the latest structure deck was focused on these Virus cards
Sometimes doomking balderoch gets special summon once a turn in defence position, would you recomend to side double trap hole for that?
Winning the yugituber championship with Chaos Max was your peak. I can die without watching anymore of your videos.
Also orginal trap hole doesnt negate the summon just destroy after summon so if effect activates on summon it can still be used in chain to trap hole
What would be your best deck build if you could only make it up of cards on the banned list?
I personally love this series of videos keep going Doug
I read some comments and condensed some of the suggestions so
lets start: virus trap cards, crush card virus, deck devastation virus etc.
:Swords of... revealing light/burning light etc.
:Pot of... greed/duality/desires along with the jars: jar of greed/avarice etc
:Solemn Judgement/strike/warning etc.
:Forbidden Lance/chalice/dress etc.
And finally my suggestion is the "C" cards: Max "C"/Confronting the "C" and others
anyway thank you for reading this whoever you are and remember that you are awesome :)
what if traptrix monsters are traps? puts a whole new meaning to "Trap Hole"
I definitely want to sit here and listen to you talk about trap holes for 30 minutes
Doug D.D. Trap Hole gives Mage Power *and* Emergency Provisions synergy
Floodgate was the best trap in Duel Links for a while and was a staple at 3 in almost every control deck. Nowadays it doesn't see any play as traps have fallen heavily out of the meta. Interestingly we recently got Treacherous Trap Hole inDL which is now proving itself to be one of the best defensive cards in the game, period.
jared tsirides I believe WoD is still played a lot, but only that one
"No one wans to sit here and listen to me talk about trap holes for 30 minutes" and yet here i am. watching these videos back to back.
Floodgate is quite good on DL. It was godlike back in January but Sylvan/Rose Lover made it less effecting
I'm not sure if these really count per se but I would love to see a video like this on Artifacts
Back row spell cards, like MST, galaxy cyclone, twin twister, parralel twister, dust tornado etc
OR THE SOLEM traps
Floodgate Trap Hole is used a lot in Duel Links, although it's really not the first card I go to.
Yep back then I used trap hole fissure and man eater bug. That was the best way to remove monsters from the field.
Depends on if you're talking about trap holes or "trap" holes
DZEEFF the original trap hole was made and released in 2002 the first set of the game
im that one dude who would sit down and listen to you reviewing trap holes for 30 minutes
in duel links its an above average card. not everyone uses it but it is very effective since there are only 3 monster zones
I've always liked the 'with chain' cards. I would love to see a video on them.
Why is Trap Hole’s serial code # 42069 🧐🧐🧐 don’t think that’s a true 1st edition
Next set of spells and traps should be the Pots and Jars and the duality (no pun intended) of how all of the jar cards are just worse pot cards to "balance" them
I like how the code for Trap Hole is 42069
i hate getting floodgate trap holed in Yu-Gi-Oh duel links. me: I Synchro summon a monster, opponent: no you don't
i used to use bottomless traphole in my D.D deck. it fits so well
an analysis of all the "Storm" themed spell/trap destruction cards would be cool
Back during the Synchro era, Bottomless Trap Hole was literally my shitty deck’s ONLY option for killing Stardust Dragon
_BOTTOMLESS_ was one of my my first experiences of "Wait, there are other Trap Holes?".
Yep Floodgate Trap Hole is played a ton in Duel Links!!
Trap hole was a great side deck choice in fire fist format not saying it was good but it was very relevant
Would you also consider doing a video over the Solemn traps?
Think after this you could do this for the Pot/Jar cards?
Can you do a new f.a. deck list after the new ban list, or do you think the deck is completely dead now?
11:23 Double Trap Hole seems more like a potential upgrade to Dark Mirror Force than to DD trap hole
I’m a little new to this modern game, but if you chain Break Off Trap Hole with your own link summon would it be better or is it still not worth the looks based off of other options available today?
Does bottemless trap hole not allow the creature that was summoned to use it effect even if its a quick effect?
The "Greed" cards would be cool (pots, jars, upstart goblin, etc).
The "eyes of blue" monsters
The "umi" cards
When talking about attack reduction cards not being viable i cant help but think about lightning bolt and dismember
Can you do the MST line, like all the spell/trap targeting destruction cards
Doug i know you have already talked about some of the fusion spells in other videos but a video about all of them can be interresting... or not i don't know but it's a suggestion
Couldn't you summon a link monster with arrows pointing to the monsters in your zones for protection and then blow up anything you want on your field to get an effect and anything unlinked on the other side? Seems like a selective black hole/ graveyard sender
Will you please go over these two structure decks I have for me because I need help on deciding if they are good or not it’s the saga of blue eyes white dragon and the realm of light Bc I kinda think they are good but I hear from you to see if they are actually good or not
Can acid trap hole work on your own monsters?
Do a video on the pot cards (pot of greed, avarice, desires etc)
Regarding it being played in Duel Links: not anymore. It stopped seing much use after Sylvans and Geargia appear
Bottomless is my fave. Network Trap Hole isn't bad either, especially if you use a Cyberse archetype deck.
If your opponent pendulum summons, do all of the monsters have to have 1500 or more attack to activate bottomless or can you activate it regardless and only the monsters with 1500 or more attack are banished? And if they're pendulum monsters would they just got to the extra deck instead of being banished?
