very helpful, I have a x595 and use a Multimeter to check the battery , but too check at the 12Volt port is clever.
    thanks Christian in Germany

You almost have to take the hood off to get to the battery. Or, ground negative lead and use the battery lug on the starter. I was going for easy which was also clever.

@@gotdeeres just wondering if it is correct that the 12 port is still active when the moter is off and the ignition key is also off the tractor?.
because my 12Volt post is still on or should I say active

I have a X585. The battery wasn’t charging when running. I can’t seem to find the voltage regulator to test it. I would charge of the battery and then run it till it quit well. I only ran it for a little bit yesterday, and it totally shut off. The battery is totally fried absolutely zero voltage I noticed that the battery was hot. Any idea what’s wrong. Thank you.

The voltage regulator is part # M97348 $127. It is bolted on to the pedestal. You should be able to see it if you remove the side vent shields. It is about 5" square and has heat sink blades. There is one connector with 4 or 5 wires.
