    Ever since 'The Clean Up Crew' has been putting up these videos with Baker, it's helped my physical game quit a bit. The tip about not using a crossover step has helped the most. After removing it from my approach, my drift and miss have been more consistent.
    Thanks!

    Hi Mark. I am a 4 step, 1 handed righty bowler. From time to time, I have trouble starting my walk smoothly to the foul line because I feel locked up in my stance. This as caused my footwork rhythm and tempo to be slow and sluggish and for me to move the air up instead of forward at the release. I have tried Mo Pinel's Shift Bowl technique in where my right foot is spaced way back from my left foot in the stance with most of the weight on the back right foot and both knees bent, almost like a back stance in Tae Kwon Do. When I get ready to bowl, I would shift my weight from my right foot to my left foot to start my footwork in motion. It worked for a while. But I will be pushing 50 years old soon and have less flexibility in my knees. I am trying to simplify my stance by starting taller. But I can't get going in motion effortlessly because I feel locked up in my taller stance. Can you offer any suggestions on how I can solve these issues? Thanks Mark.

    A question Coach! how important is keeping the ball near your feet at release? Always had a problem keeping it close, I usually lay the ball down 10-12 boards from where my slide foot stops.

    Mark, I have seen many videos of the Cleanup Crew that you reference a "quiet left foot" for a right hander. Can you give more details as to what that means? Thanks for all the great videos

    Regarding Hybrid bowling style: What's the key to getting the ball into the one-handed portion of the swing with enough momentum to stay on the hand through to release?

    The last tip is super helpful. I need to stop walking left (lefty) as I think that's what's messing up my timing and causing me to tug the ball at times. I've heard Barnzy mention not walking toward your swing arm, too. Just need to make myself stop doing it. 😂

    Hi mark, I bought your 2 handed video and when you were talking about the baker box and the zones. You mentioned about changing your rotation percentage. I'm not sure what you meant for that? Does that mean you either do your rotation earlier or later or does that mean to change the hand rotation itself? Like from a 45 degree I'll change to 30 or do I just delay/sooner my normal 45 degree throw?

    My son has a modern day yoyo release but his track has progressively been getting higher and higher, to a point now most of the time he has a full roller track (or at the very least tracking over the thumb). It bothers him to no end and he can't seem to fix that. He is about to give up bowling :( Any tip on how he can fix that?

    Well, for me, as far as my eyes, I was looking down lane naturally after looking at my mark at the arrows. And unfortunately my head moves albeit not too much doing it this way and half the time I missed my mark. Now I try to keep my eyes on my mark which is actually a bit closer than the arrows and keep it there until the ball passes over it. Strike percentage increased. It’s different for everyone true but if you laser focus on your mark you will hit it far more. And don’t get me wrong I visualize my breakpoint for a second before I look at my mark.

    I am a 2 hander. My timing on my swing is late. My ball is released after my foot stops sliding. How would I get my release to be timed up earlier with my slide? Should I speed up my push away or slow down my legs?

    I am a one handed right hander and on my follow through my arm tends to go up and out right a little on the post instead of straight in front. My coach wants me to have my elbow pointing more in front. Is this normal and if so how can I fix it. I do see different pro’s that have a cross over too where the hand goes across the face (example Sam Cooley) is there a right way or is it depends on where you play and what angles you want to create?

    I would like to convert from a hybrid style to a traditional 2 handed style but I'm having issues with my left hand staying on the ball and still generating power. When I bowl traditional 2 handed I feel my upper body over rotating and I lose power and revs. Where should I start in my Conversion

    Recently increased weight from 12lbs to 14lbs and i struggling to stay consistent, and always found the ball to hook way earlier down lane(an earlier breakpoint), usually giving me a brooklyn or missing the head pin. Could this issue be because of the jump in weight which decreases my ball speed?

    • @novinnovations4026
      @novinnovations4026 2 місяці тому

      If you are drifting less than like 5/7 boards you're fine as long as your drift is consistent. If it isn't, you need to practice walking straighter and burning that muscle-memory into you

    Question for the crew! I think everyone can agree that you bowl your best when you're in the "zone". Not thinking about the hand, tempo, everything just flows. But sometimes we overthink, and the mind and body seem disconnected at times. What are some tips that you guys have to get back into rhythm?

    Question for Baker: what are the most common reasons for 2-handed bowlers to have early timing?

  • @PygmyBBQ

    Equipment question for Mark: For a lower speed, rev dominant player that that was trouble with cliffed conditions - what kind of bowling balls & surfaces do you typically recommend?

    • @AverageLeagueHack
      @AverageLeagueHack 2 місяці тому +1

      I hope Mark answers, but I'll try to help you in the meantime. I'm speculating that the cliffed condition forces you inside and when your angles get too steep the ball labors to get back and then hits like a turd and you literally have zero margin for error. I would look at your symmetric pearls. The reasoning is that you need to store more energy for when the ball exits the oil. Asymmetric has a shorter sharper hook window so it's more prone to rolling out. Symmetric has a longer smoother hook window so it should have more energy in the back.
