this guy save my life, i went to 3 mechanics and none of them knew what the problem was, and yes besides the speedometer, temp gauge also messed up with your ac system......THANKSS
Thank you so much I watch the video went to e-bay bought the part by brother replace the ABS-MODULE. The car is running perfect AC is so cold. AGAIN THANK YOU
It's interesting my ac doesn't work either. Nor the speedometer and can't check the engine or abs for codes. Thinking this is all related to the abs module giving a back feed or something..
helo, I watched the same, similar video, on 07 camry, with the same symptoms. the replacement on that car, was just the plastic ABS module, excluding the metal part. why need to change that metal part, why not just the plastic part?
Hey buddy !! Thank you so much for the Clarity, Knowledge and taking your time to explain thoroughly . Again , Thank you from our heart land in the Midwest !
Good video except where you say to unplug module and see if the tach and speedometer start working. The speedometer can't work with the abs module unplugged since the speed signal comes from the abs module.
Just a suggestion. Please make your videos more hands on so that we have a better visual reference of what to open, what tools to use and the refitment procedure. Also show the repaired result if you can. Thank you.
Bro... he explains it pretty dam good.. and if you dont get what hes saying, u shouldnt bother trying to do it your self, just take it to a mechanic shop instead
As i said, most of us need visual reference of what to do rather than just mere explanation. Granted we are not mechanics bro. Why we bother to try to do it ourselves coz as a hobby and also not to easily get conned by a mechanic who might take advantage of us.
One question instead of disconnecting the brake lines from the ABS system why can't you just replace the ECU of the ABS unit? if the short is located inside the ECU then we should be able to only replace the ECU which would take loosening 4 star head screws. Can you purchase just the ECU or do you have to purchase the entire ABS unit?
One way to bleed the brakes is.. bleed then as usual and go for a ride just fast enough to dump the brakes and kick in the abs. ( berp the abs modual) this can work to get the air out. And bleed the brakes again.
Friend Nice presentation ! I have a 2009 Toyota Camry LE. I have similar problem as in the video you have. Only thing is it is Intermittent meaning Speedometer drops to zero then after sometime it comes back up. DO you think replacing ABS Controller module will solve the problem. I am planning to remove my ABS and get it fixed by someone out of town. Also the Mechanic told me that even after the ABS Module has been removed i can still drive around until i get my ABS Repaired is he right?
My 2008 Camry has the same problem. Toyota should not be allowed to get away with this. The issue seems to be localized to a single make/model, all manufactured within a same 3 year period! There was obviously something wrong with the part from the start. Unbelievable :O
I have a 97 Camry LE, the odometer is blank and speed cannot be detected as well. ABS and engine lights are on. Also, transmission slips. What should I do? Thanks in advance!
Sounds like it may need a transmission and many other fix's... Might be time to go car shopping however... Do you have the code of the check engine light? and also the ABS Codes? Those codes will help me give you better advice..
So, I have a 2008 Camry doing this tachydance and the lights. It can be evoked when stopping really forcefully. When it showed I unplugged the module, but the dance remained. What is the flow logic for when the diagnostic step of testing while unplugged does not effect a change? Does this throw a fault? If so, does the fault go away when the symptoms go away? Does it mean the short is somewhere else? Could it be the blue fuse module? If a fuse, why would forceful stopping create a short? If a short I would think it is always shorted. What other diagnostic steps do you recommend?
I got this same problem air works find tho it's just the speed sensor has stop working the speed hand just dance up an down every now an then an nice video btw
Hi there I purchased an 02 toyota camry and had the engine rebuilt. The speedometer is all the way to the right and I dont see the miles moving as I drive. What's you advance. Thank you
So I replace the abs module with a used one and still have the same problem. I was doing some more research and found that it can be the wheel speed sensor? Help please
This looks like it's my problem I'm having, my car is doing this with the lights while driving but it stops gauges go back to normal after driving for awhile, wondering if that's normal and could be same problem if it stops while driving
I have a toyota camry 1995 V6 and the speedometer is flunctuating.. I thinking to replaced the VSS or what could be the problem.. Please let me knw. Thanks
I want to make an addition to the circuit board in the instrument cluster of my 2015 Camry. I can remove the instrument cluster and get the assembly partially disassembled, but I don't know how to remove the speedometer and tachometer pointers to complete the disassembly. Is there any trick to that or is it simply brute force?
Not quite my problem on a 2008 Camry. :( Anyone know what to check when the speedometer and tachometer are just dead and never leave 0. Also a number of warning lights (air bag, BRAKE, warning, ABS) have come on and requires maintenance notice. Checked what I could see as possible gauge fuses, but no dead ones found. Finally, tried my cheap OBD2 BT tool, which I've used effectively on this car before, and it can't complete data connection ('ECU not available', or some such in Torque lite.) Double checked the OBD2 adapter on another vehicle and it's still working fine. (Oh, and possibly temp gauge too is pinned at bottom, but haven't driven it enough to be sure.)
I have the same problem with my 2009 Camry LE since last year. Toyota is extending warranty on hybrids only with this problem but not regular camrys. Do I need to bleed it if replacing the abs module only and not replacing the pump?
Do you know if this is a common issue in other toyotas? Friend has 05 scion tc and speedo, odometer, fuel guage etc all do not work and I was thinking cluster but maybe it has a similar issue? Any feedback would be helpful thanks
Hi; I have a problem in my camry 2008 2.4L Automatic transmission, the 5th gear is missing, check engine light comes on, I examined the car by obd 2 scanner, the trouble code is ((P0500 - Vehicle speed sensor)) what this means? And where is the location of this sensor in the engine? I'm from Iraq we don't have car service centers in the near by, the mechanics told me to change the ABS?! I lossed a lot of money with no benefit Can you help me to solve the problem? Thanks.
my 06 nissan altima transmission is stop shifting after long drive ( about an hour or more ) plus i have hard shifting to gear 2 car jumps when shifting with like impact sound. fluid and color and level all ok ,, please help
Hey man so my 2011 Toyota Camry odometer is going up to rapidly! What do you think is the problem I don’t want my mileage going up pass 200k because that would be inaccurate
Hi, i have a 2009 Camry with exactly the same issue you demonstrated expect that it's periodic which means it happens for sometimes only & then every thing runs normally !!! would it still be the ABS module ???
Hey i really need your help here. I have the same problem with my Toyota Camry 2007, the speedometer goes crazy and the ABS light and the Break light comes on but not the cluster light, that has always been off. I checked it with the mechanic and the DTC no is U0073/94. I located the module and i took it out for a drive and the Break light and ABS light stays on. So is the problem the module or something else ? do i just need to replace the module or thats not the problem ?

+Mike Conley There is a scan tools out there you can buy that say ABS bleeding. You need to follow the direction what it says on the scan tools. I got my scan tools and it works like a charm. This is the right way. I work for Toyota for over 8 years and that how I bleed the ABS by scan tools. I have my own scan tools now.
I did unplug the ABS module, after that everything like the tachometer and engine temp gauge works properly but the speedometer sits down there itself. So should i go ahead and get the ABS module replaced ?

I'm having this exact problem, I disconnected the ABS module and test drove the vehicle, all the instruments work except for the speedometer. Does this mean the issue is with the ABS module and the Instrument Cluster?
Hey, my wifes 07 camry has the exact same symptoms. I disconnected the abs as suggested and the tachometer began working but the speedometer still registered as 0
hi my Toyota camry speedometer is over range .after changing the starter I noticed the speedometer is at 180 degrees full range . anyone can gives some advice would be great thanks
Hi, I am about to buy a toyota camry altise 2008 model but the odometer does not show the P R D S that represents Parking, Reverse, Drive on the gear...apart from this, the car is very sound. please what do you reckon?
That will most likely be a problem with the instrument cluster and would need to be repaired or replaced....Check with Toyota on the cost of a new instrument cluster.... The 08 Camry is a great car... Probably wouldn't be a bad idea to have a mechanic/shop do a pre-purchase inspection. (before you buy) Most shops charge a range of $30-$75.00 for this service..
I have problem with 2009. with random start, the ABS brake on speedo meter not work and other time random start no problem ABS light not on speed o meter work fine. do you think there are 2problems 1- cluster and 2-ABS Module, so what is you suggestion. thanx
+Mohammad Idrees Replace the ABS module, that should take care of the ABS light and Speedometer problem...However your no start issue would be something else.
Car drive like champ. No starting issue. I mention it randomly when I start if the abs light comes on then speedometer would not work and other time if abs light does not comes on the speedometer does work. It has to do with abs light when it's not on then speedometers work.thanx
Why not just replace just the ABS control module? It might save time, you don't need to bleed the system if you just replace the controll module. This only works if you don't have traction control.
I have a 1997 Toyota camry I put the battery in wrong by a mistake when I turned it around the right way the speedometer shortage out and my CD player went out I checked all the fuses they all good so what should I do now
I own a 2007 Camry Hybrid, it has two problems that I've noticed. 1.) When driving at speeds over 45mph my speedometer reads 5mph over my actual speed. 2.) The odometer reads 20 miles over what i actually drove. I started using "Mile IQ" when i noticed something was wrong. At 100 miles driven, it Displayed 160 miles. it eventually dropped to 20 mile difference once I reached 200+. What can possibly be wrong with my car? I look forward to any suggestions, thank you.
This is a bullshit auto mechanic, ABS and has nothing to do with AC turning off and on and having the speedometer and Tachometer and temp gauge bouncing. I work for Oreilly my job is to give advice and my advice to all is go check your battery and Alternator. Your problem will be a failing Alternator. Which is a faulty ground. I had the same problem. These videos are all bullshit just for marketing.
Please I have similar problem with my 2006 Toyota Corolla automatic transmission. Everything works alright but the speedometer not working and the ABS and the break lights are on. So many mechanics can't seems to get it fix. Please what's the exact problem? Kindly help me.
this guy save my life, i went to 3 mechanics and none of them knew what the problem was, and yes besides the speedometer, temp gauge also messed up with your ac system......THANKSS
Is it working for you now
TY, this does Effect the A.C. from cooling and working at its fullest. It is happening to my vehicle
Thank you so much I watch the video went to e-bay bought the part by brother replace the ABS-MODULE. The car is running perfect AC is so cold. AGAIN THANK YOU

What does a s module have to do with a/c system shutting off?
Good video except where you say to unplug module and see if the tach and speedometer start working. The speedometer can't work with the abs module unplugged since the speed signal comes from the abs module.
I was looking for this comment. You're exactly correct.
I think what he meant to say is that the needles would stop jumping around.

I have replaced the module twice, and I still have the same problem you discuss. Maybe 3 times is a charm ????

So if you unhook the abs module will your speedo stop working?
Hi, i have a 2009 Camry with exactly the same issue you demonstrated expect that it's periodic which means it happens for sometimes only & then every thing runs normally !!! would it still be the ABS module ???
+Saeed Salad yes usually there is electrical short inside the ABS module that can sometimes be intermittent

I have the same question, did u find a solution or fix the problem sir?
If I replace the module only do I still need to bleed the brakes?
I have a 2008 toyota camry 2.4 le doing this and I'm having trouble finding one to replace the one I have
Hello thanks for share with us , i from Mexico , i should buy just a new ABS module? or i need an a specifically module (Repair or without fail )? do you know what i mean?
Thanks for your support.
regards!!!
Yes I would replace with new or used... Not sure of a internal repair yet..
You just need to replace the electronic solenoid / module not the pump and valve body.
Good day sir
my tachometer is going crazy when I'm in idle and I have a "check engine" light on. 2008 Toyota camry le. Error code U0073
I got the same code plus p0500 what did u do to fix it?
I'm having this exact problem, I disconnected the ABS module and test drove the vehicle, all the instruments work except for the speedometer. Does this mean the issue is with the ABS module and the Instrument Cluster?
Should just be the ABS module....
Hi bro I have camry v6 2007 and the transmission work only on 3 speeds and another 3 speeds it’s doesn’t working and the mph go free and high
Hey, my wifes 07 camry has the exact same symptoms. I disconnected the abs as suggested and the tachometer began working but the speedometer still registered as 0
Same issue. Speedo still didn't work. Did you find the issue? Was it the same, abs control module?

hi my Toyota camry speedometer is over range .after changing the starter I noticed the speedometer is at 180 degrees full range . anyone can gives some advice would be great thanks
Do I need to replace the ABS Module and pump? Or is it ok to replace just the ABS module?
Any answer,?
Thanks for that...
is it necessary to replace the pump along with the module?
I have the same question. In other videos they just replace the module, and not the pump, and it seems to resolve the issue.
My 1997 Camry speedometer does not light up or worked, and will not go into the final gear.
Thank you....
thanks 😄😄😄
I have same problem with My toyota fielder, 08 with error code p0500, i dont know more to do
I have problem with 2009. with random start, the ABS brake on speedo meter not work and other time random start no problem ABS light not on speed o meter work fine.
do you think there are 2problems 1- cluster and 2-ABS Module,
so what is you suggestion.
Yes you need a new ABS Module...That should be your only problem.
How about my 99 Camry with the same issue
Why not just replace just the ABS control module?
It might save time, you don't need to bleed the system if you just replace the controll module. This only works if you don't have traction control.
thank you
Ty!
Cool video expected a little more detail for dumb people like me. Thanks for the video tgough.
That was an awesome video and an accurate diagnostic.

+Hanriver Shrimper Good question! No you can just replace the module on the pump, I prefer to change it as an assembly.
+Ask My Auto Mechanic Thank you for the help!
My Toyota speedometer won’t run on the dashboard, no matter the speed .
Yes, exactly the problem with my car
I own a 2007 Camry Hybrid, it has two problems that I've noticed.
1.) When driving at speeds over 45mph my speedometer reads 5mph over my actual speed.
2.) The odometer reads 20 miles over what i actually drove. I started using "Mile IQ" when i noticed something was wrong. At 100 miles driven, it Displayed 160 miles. it eventually dropped to 20 mile difference once I reached 200+.
What can possibly be wrong with my car? I look forward to any suggestions, thank you.

Don't you have other solution....replacement is very expensive
My Mechanics told me that they cannot access the ABS module, and If I want to replace the computer I need to cost 1600 bucks.
Need help
You talk way too much and don’t show pulling out the part, totally lame
