I love this! Can you explain where the 13.26x36 came from? You said you used a ratio calculator. Can you dive deeper into this? Or am I thinking too hard? :-)
The ratio calculator is under the Help menu. Help > Ratio Calculator. This is a little side tool to resize the sides of a rectangle so that they will be the same proportion as an original rectangle. So, I wanted the rug with the name to look the same as the top of my quilt, or have the same proportions. So, I put the length of the sides on the top of the quilt into the ratio calculator. Put the length of one side of the rug in and then it calculates the other side of the rug. I believe the 36 was the new rug width and it calculated the height of the rug as 13.26 inches. So, my rug will have the same proportions as the name area of the quilt. So, basically, I have resized the rectangle 38 x 14 a little smaller to 36 x 13.26, keeping the proportions the same. This way the rectangle will look the same to the eye, even though it is a bit smaller.
Yes, the software is free. It's called Grid Designer and is located at freese-works.com. It runs in the browser for free. I am the author, so if you have any suggestions for new features, let me know! Grid Designer is my retirement project after 30 years as a software developer. Hope you enjoy it!
