Goodford Model Railway MK3 - 19. Running Session 11

- Most of the rolling stock I have collected is centered around what may be seen on the GWR line in South Devon, specifically Dawlish. Whilst Goodford is a fictitious location I thought it would be nice to have a running session with just this stock. There is a couple of twists and unlikely trains to appear however with a little poetic license, most I believe would be seen around the Dawlish area in the year 2020.
I realise this is a very long running session and so have put a running list below in case there's anything you want to skip to:
0:00:00 GWR Castle set sweeps through the countryside
0:00:10 Entering one of the many tunnels commonly found on the coastline
0:00:19 The HST then pulls up at Goodford station
0:00:57 RHTT top and tailed with Freightliner 66419 and 66610
0:01:28 A Cross Country 221 service passes through Goodford station
0:01:41 On its way to Penzance, another GWR HST set stops off briefly
0:02:17 The GWR HST heading for Paddington departs Goodford station
0:02:45 This Cross Country service does not stop at Goodford
0:02:55 Colas 70805 drags a rake of PCA cement tanks
0:03:37 The service stops at the station to let a fast passenger service pass
0:04:21 This time it is a XC HST set that flies through non stop
0:04:35 Both services can make their way now the lines ahead are clear
0:05:35 Heading up an A1 steam charter service is 60163 - Tornado
0:06:48 To help with the work at Dawlish sea wall is GBRF 66789 on a ballast train
0:07:42 A common site on the line is double 150 units, one still being in FGW colours
0:07:59 Local stopping service in the form of a GWR 158 is next to stop at Goodford station
0:08:35 Time for the steam special to continue its way towards London
0:09:51 A very rare site in this part of the country is the GBRF 60095, pulled in to help out moving some of the empty wagons away from the sea wall repair works
0:10:36 The local service departs Goodford, heading to Dawlish next
0:11:05 Although the wagons are empty, the class 60 still struggles to pull away
0:12:42 On route to deliver more ballast to the Dawlish sea wall repair is 66727
0:13:19 The GBRF loco in Maritime livery pulls 2 sets of Autoballasters
0:13:45 A single class 37 in BR blue heads up a charter service
0:14:21 DRS 37401 stops off with Intercity blue MK2 coaches
0:15:02 With a little thrash the class 37 pulls away after its brief stop at Goodford
0:16:11 The China Clay traffic is handled by DB Cargo, today with 66101 at the helm
0:17:15 GBRF 66731 heads towards Dawlish with more engineering supplies
0:17:53 Progress is halted with a red signal
0:18:25 The test train crossing the main lines appears to be the reason for the red signal
0:19:03 Once the line is unblocked the engineers train can continue
0:20:16 Colas 37521 and 37421 top and tail the test train as it returns to the facility
0:21:03 Including this HST, not many Cross Country services stop at Goodford
0:21:16 Off scene is the storage and maintenance facility for network rail coaches
0:22:17 Hauling a rake of loaded IWA timber wagons is Colas 66849
0:23:27 Goodford sees many charter services, this time a class 47
0:24:24 In all Intercity swallow livery is is almost like a hop back in time
0:25:04 A regular HST castle service pulls away from Goodford
0:25:40 Local stopping service makes its way from Dawlish
0:26:12 Dropping passengers off at Goodford station
0:26:49 Colas 37057 in BR green emerges from the Network Rail facility
0:28:58 The 37 is due for a light service before it can go back on test train duty
0:29:52 DRS take care of the high security KUA nuclear flask train
0:30:06 Top and tailed with 66434 and 66433 there is plenty of staff on board
0:30:32 The NMT comes out of the Network Rail facility with 43014 and 43013
0:31:44 It's clear to see the recording equipment light under the middle coach form this angle
0:32:12 GBRF 66745 leads a short engineers train ready to pick up spoil from the works at Dawlish
0:32:33 The evening sets in as the Night Riviera Sleeper train stops off
0:33:54 Making a hell of a racket cleaning the rail heads is this Windhoff MPV
0:34:21 After a quick driver change, 57602 departs Goodford station
0:35:22 GWR class 800 has great acceleration, even under diesel power
0:36:15 GWR castle sets flying through the South Devon countryside
0:36:24 Basking in the morning sun covering Goodford station
For anyone new to the channel, Goodford is 2 layouts in 1 with 1 side being a station and TMD and the other being countryside with a small branch line junction. It is located in a room measuring around 19" x 12" and is DCC operated using the Roco Z21 system. All locos are DCC sound fitted with either ESU Loksound V5 or Zimo decoders.

I’m hoping there will be twice the stations as it would be nice to see some freight (RHTT or cargo) going through and seeing some commuters as well.
Your attention to detail is a pleasure to view. Cracking footage with a wide variety of stock. I don’t know how you have the heart to dismantle such a cracking layout?

I started building the layout around 18 months ago and stopped doing anything a couple of months ago when we decided to move house.

Found your layout just in time from the comments!! Fantastic presentation. Love the commentary, gives purpose rather than just watching trains go past. I'm a steam fan personally, being of that age, just. Green, blue, sector, seen them come and go. Lost touch at the end of the 90s. Found UA-cam last year, almost addicted now, lol 🤣 But that's great because I get to see as much railway as I can manage, of all shapes and sizes. This has to be one of the best, and now it's going. Such a shame. Good luck with the move, and I'll look out for the new build. 👍👍👍

2:22 HST castle set going to London?
Brilliant one question does the barrier come up at the crossings or just stay down
Good question. I considered motorising the barriers however it is rare that I would look at the crossing without a train passing. Plus if the barriers went up but the cars remained stationary then it would appear to be more odd than if the barriers stayed down. 👍

Can’t remember exactly but just checked the normal secondhand places. They do come up every now and then 👍

You got to sort out that hump on your layout. The screen shots showing them rising over the hump stands out a mile.
Plenty of bumps on the real thing 😂🤷🏻♂️ I think the baseboard has warped at the joint when I ballasted, will be using ply instead of chipboard on the next layout 👍

Hello at 7:35 as the 66 goes through the level crossing. Can i ask who makes the brick wall beside it please
