Honestly, Brandon and Anthony are among the best presenters on this channel. Nothing to knock their coworkers, but they just have a sort of enthusiasm for their craft that's really hard to emulate.
That's craftsmen and entertainers. Most of LTT on-screen staff are entartainers, for obvious reasons. They will attract every type of viewer. But craftsman have something unique, their passion and knowledge. And I'm not saying #Lienus, others have grand knowledge, but their craft in a way is entertainment.
Most of the staff are writers/editors that like tech but it's just a thing they like. Brandon and Anthony are deeply engrossed in their respective arenas. Anthony doesn't just work in tech, he lives it. He goes home and continues with his own tech projects. Brandon doesn't just shoot for work, he's constantly shooting for fun and exercising his creativity. So when they're on camera, they don't even need a script. They know the topic deeply and are excited to share it. And it's not just them, get Taren talking keyboards or bikes and it's going to be a great video. Unfortunately biking doesn't fit a tech channel often so he rarely gets to share.

I've had moment lens for years and have had no complaints. but even if/when I ever stop using them I'll always buy their cases cause they are, in my opinion some of the best quality for iPhone.
I just love ltt videos with Brandon. So professional and still easy to understand.
I wasn't sure but have ended up using my Moment Lenses a LOT on my iPhone 11. Especially as a TikTok Creator. TikTok doesn't allow use of the Ultra-Wide or Telephoto in the app, so I use them to modify my field of view constantly. SOOOOO handy.
Wow, I’ve been looking at Moment for a while, but I don’t like their paid reviews and in their own videos they’ve been caught using a DSLR. I appreciate you laid it all out and proved to me it’s not worth the cost. 10% better photos for $120 a lens is rubbish.
I’ll save up for a DSLR kit for my nice photos.
Refurbished Canon M50s are pretty darn cheap with a kit lens!
It could be interesting compared with other competitors and different phones, especially cheaper phones that didn't have different high quality sensors or processing
If you use a manual camera app it will make the lens work better but it really depends on your phone

Apple/Google/Samsung Lenses: I've always felt the phone manufacturers need to make there own add-on lenses that THEY design to work well with whatever single generic camera they put on the phone. I feel they can provide the best combo of phone/lens if they do everything.
Please don’t give Apple ideas. Next thing you know they gonna make iPhone cameras without lenses and force you to buy the lenses at the low cost of $999

Yes. I pulled out a kit from 4 years ago on my note 20 and it finally lines up and is incredible.
It takes some more user end but can be legit with quality assesories.

Love the moment lenses. I took up photography 3 yrs ago as a hobby and came across Moment sometime down the line. The lenses paired with their app makes a differences by giving me the option to manually adjust my settings such as exposure. Also putting an ND filter on top of it helps as well. Great video.

I've had the Anamorphic lens for a year now and I absolutely love it, not only for video, but also ultrawide landscape and portrait photography. I live by the English Channel and the sea/skyscape photographs I've taken with it are breathtaking. Also, their case not only looks nice, but can survive some hefty drops. Ahem.

Great video! I’ve been using the anamorphic lens for a while, wish you went a little more in depth with it. Moment lenses are perfect for me (at least right now) because I can’t really afford a full on anamorphic setup yet.
Been using Moment lenses for a few years on my phone. It'll NEVER replace a DSLR, but it does open up some creative avenues for the camera you most likely have on you more often than your DSLR.
The main thing this video did was give me a even greater appreciation for my mirrorless camera and raw image files. The amount AI noise reduction artifacts in those images were insane once seen blown up at high resolution.
Same here. You can see how poor the quality of the corners are with phones; whether with the phone provided lens(es) or clip-on lens. Nice to see a young person like Brandon having a passion for photography.
Even though the moment tele lens seems to be quite soft, the natural bokeh it produces honestly looks really nice.

I have been eyeing these for my Galaxy Note 9 for a while I am so happy that you guys decided to do a review on these even though they have been out for a while I have yet to find an actual unbiased opinion on if these are good or not because these are kind of expensive but are worth it because of the functionality and portability

It's all about the photographer, not the camera. The best pictures of the past were taken using technology that's nowhere near as advanced as what we have today.

@@sidbrun_ the great thing about a camera is that you can play with focus, depth, exposure and more, which is something most phones do automatically and even if manually very limited. It really depends what you are trying to do with your camera, for some things a phone is perfectly fine or even better, for other things a (cheap) body with a versatile lens is more useful.
Also, the pictures people took 100 or more years ago were not better, they were different. Comparing past art to todays art is pointless and will bring you nowhere. Different technology, different ideas and different values.

Over the years, I have used a bunch of external phone lenses.
I used an adapter plate with my iPhone 6+ to use a Canon lense producing excellent quality by horrific warping due to the adaption.
Moment appears to be the forefront.
I would like to see Strange Parts dismantle an iPhone 12 Pro Max to build an EF lense mount array for each of the rear cameras.
I would love to get to a point where every camera on the IPhone can be used at the same time with any lense you want to dock onto the iPhone.

The main issue I have with this stuff, is the front element of a camera on a phone is designed to gather light from a scene, and send it through to be focused, with chromatic aberrations and such suppressed. But then you add a whole new set of glass in front of it and now you're taking an image of pre-bent light, which just is never going to be the same as a fully optimized lens stack front-to back.

I have the tele, wide, superfish, and anamorphic from Moment. They're FANTASTIC.
I bought into the Moment environment earlier this year. I have a pixel 5 and ended up snagging the 10mm macro lens alongside the case. What a clever system. Having a pixel 5, my next lens will certainly be the telephoto as google did not include a telephoto sensor on the pixel 5.

I’ve the 58mm and can attest to it adding a weird blue fringing to some photos. They’re situational lenses, but they do increase your pallet for picture taking so it’s a win!

I've made most of my videos using Moment's anamorphic lens on my Pixel until I got a mirrorless camera. For video it can really add a cool style!

In some cases where the subject is within 5m adding an accessory that blocks the radar sensor will have focussing issues and that’s why the stock camera takes better photos.

You can get the Ulanzi Anamorphic Lens from Aliexpress for 59USD.
It's fantastic, and a portion of the price from the competition.
If you need a great lense mounting solution you can get a smartphone rig like the:
Ulanzi U-Rig or the SmallRig
There are even rigs designed for specific smartphone models.
It fixes the problem of mounting the lenses perfectly, and securely.
I like smartphone videography because i record while doing extreme sports in the movement.
The gear needs to be light, and compact.
And the quality definitely beats the action cams.
I use a Anamorphic Lenze to get the full resolution from the 4:3 sensor of the camera, and still get a wide cinematic 21:9 ratio.
Zhiyun crane m2 gimbal for stabilization.
Aluminium telescopic staff with counter weight.
And a Asus Zenfone 7 because of the main camera that can be rotated 90 or 180 degrees allowing for some easy side or selfie videos during movement.
(Punce hole selfie sensors... suck...)
Everything has its limitations it just depends what is good for your use case.

I’ve used them in the past, they are very nice. Moment is expensive though. I recommend Sandmarc they’re more budget friendly with the same quality.
I used to have Moment anamorphic when i started filmmaking. I had it paired with my s9+ didn't really used it for anything except the wider field of view and some flares at night. No significant quality increase but heavy fringing and distortion around the edges. If you have multiple things to focus in your frame and you want a close up shot. around the edges things turn out to be pretty ugly since the smaller phone sensor gives little to less depth of field and looked very distorted.
After 3 months of mild use, the case mount ring broke so it didn't even hold the lens anymore. Well, there goes my $250 CAD.
I will advise, if you are into filmmaking. Just pick up a small camera lens and body or just shoot on your phone without any "camera enhancing" accessory.
This is the kind of videos that I'm really missing on LTT!
And I gotta say, the photos and videos out of the Note 20 Ultra look just amazing!

I have a bunch of 37mm nd lenses and a cpl which i use on my phone. 37mm is big enough to cover all of the iPhone cameras and they can really improve photos.

I use moment lenses all the time. It’s just about having fun with more options for me.
