I'm using a mobile hotspot because I live in the woods in Bronson, Florida and have no real internet access. Destiny 2 won't work as of three days ago on my Series X, keeps giving me Turtle error code and it's worked fine for 6 years. I don't know what the heck happened but I've tried everything I can think of. Hard Resetting the console, hotspot device, factory resetting the hotspot, etc. I don't know if you know anything about that stuff but any help will be appreciated. I have a problem with my nat-type. Everytime I go on settings and the information of my network shows up(current network status), it says my nat-type is strict. But when I check my nat-type it says it's open but right after that it still shows that my nat is strict. Also everytime I play games, for example cod or dbd, it tells me my nat-type is strict. I've tried reseting my router and updating it but it didn't help. Althought it's strict it still says that everything is available and IPv4 and IPv6 is working. I don't know what to do??
What type of Xbox do you have? Xbox one/series x? Also where are you located? If you are in a remote location (middle of no where) far away from a data center you’re probably always going to have a hard time with connecting. Does you internet provider have fiber optic lines for high speed to your home? If it’s all wireless internet that could cause an issue. Is your Xbox wired to the router, that could help. Hey Tr00z port forwarding is an option, it’s tricky to understand but here’s what I found: Port Forwarding I recommend researching Port Forwarding before attempting this fix. Step 1: Firstly, head to Settings on your Xbox and open Network Settings. You’ll want to select Advanced Settings and then finally, IP Settings. Record your IP address and MAC address. Step 2: You have to access your router’s admin panel via your web browser. To do this, find your router’s IP address, usually a series of numbers located on the base of your router (for example: 192.168.1.1.), and enter them into your web browser. You may be required to enter a username and password. Check your router’s base or manual for this information and enter accordingly. Step 3: Our goal here is to set the IP address for your Xbox as a Static IP, using the IP address and MAC address you grabbed from the Xbox settings. You may find the option to do this under Advanced Settings but every router’s admin panel is going to be different. Step 4: Lastly, we’ll need to adjust your router’s Port Forwarding settings to mirror COD: Warzone’s Ports TCP: 3074 UDP: 88, 500, 3074-3075, 3544, 4500 Step 5: After successfully forwarding the ports, reboot Your Xbox and check your NAT Type, which should now read NAT Type Open.

Problem is, after A LOT of work, reconfiguring, switching options on and off, rebooting, restarting, eventually I get the open nat. But the thing is it never lasts. As soon as I turn the console off, next time I switch it on it's on moderate nat again. And it doesn't matter what power option I pick.
That’s frustrating! It’s sounds like your console is auto-default connection to moderate. You would need to change your router settings and that gets complicated. I don’t have any videos on that 🤷♂️

Hey Alex! Open is the best connection, you can connect to anyones game. Moderate allow you to connect to moderate and strict gamers. It wouldn’t hurt to try the cable, hopefully it works for you 😁👍

Clearing the cache helps eliminate and unnecessary storage causing slow down problems… generally it’s movies but if there is something you don’t use best to get rid of it 😁
Hey Lacroix! Clearing the Blu-ray is just one option, if it’s only showing moderate keep testing connection until it goes to open. It could take 5-10 tries. If that doesn’t work, certain games have methods. What game are you playing? Check the comments but If I remember correctly there was a specific way to open modern warfare to open. For Xbox One/S Ports for Xbox - 53, 3074, 53, 88, 500, 3544, 4500 Note: The mentioned ports should only be used in case the UPnP setting doesn’t fix your problem. Go to 192.168.1.1 to access your modem settings Log in to the router admin panel. The details for the same can be located on the router itself. There should be a sticker with these details. Head to Advanced Settings > Check if UPnP is enabled. If not, then enable it. Because of closed ports, your NAT type might be getting affected.
I do it all but still on Strict. Maybe it is because I am on an Asia server. Saddest life for me because I really want to grind NBA 2K23 but the server here is totally dead.
I’m not exactly sure but what I’ve heard speculating is if they have the equipment and you join their game (they are host) they can. A NAT firewall doesn't hide your public IP address, but your private IP address. All devices connected to a NAT-enabled router will share a public IP address. The NAT firewall will prevent any online communication that isn't in response to a request you sent from a private IP address.

I actually don’t mind strict, longer wait times but less laggy games. Some of the more complicated tutorials might work, search how to open ports on your specific router 👍

You have a wired or wireless connection? I wired mine to reduce lag, also if wires to/from xbox/router are pinched or damaged could cause problems

Any idea why clearing the blu-ray cache works? I didn't change my port and only cleaned my cache then just tested NAT type twice and it worked.

Mine says open but once in vanguard it says moderate so my xbox says open at the exact same time vanguard says moderate hmmm

This doesn’t work for my Xbox. I’ve tried everything man. It went from “moderate” to “open”, but it only reflected an open NAT type on the settings screen. As soon as I ran the game, it says “moderate “ like it’s always said
