What a wonderful history of comedy that Reg Varney shared with us.
On the buses is one of those guilty pleasures to watch! 🤣🤣👍👍👍👏👏👏
God bless you reg... Great man loved on the buses.
Lovely guy
Happy memories.
Still watch it to this day, great comedy. You don't get laughs like that anymore. On The Buses, Porridge, Rising Damp Only Fools cant beat them, the world is far too PC and sensitive and there were far happier times back then. Life is for living and laughing 😂
OHHH, ABSOLUTELY!!!!
Lefties don’t laugh ..They go around like 😣
@Oystersgetclamydia I'm a 'leftie' and I laugh loads. You sound like you see hate everywhere.
I've got the complete boxset of On The Buses, plus the 3 films they did. Great comedy, great characters and very funny.
Me too! I grew up with On The Buses every Saturday night in the 70's and still watch them regularly.
Watching the buses growing up made me want to be a bus driver.....when I passed my test with London General, the first bus I took out in service was a route master with a conductor..... Number 11 I was like a pig in shit.
Funny to hear Reg talking and not trying to make us laugh
Happy Days!
For steptoe was a cut abovw the rest but i liked on the buses
I now realise that all the time that 'Stan' was making out with 'birds' he was around 50-55 and those birds could be his daughters :D You can get a nastier role to play :P
On the Buses was of it’s time - attitudes no longer acceptable. No blame to the writers or actors, just the time. What a lovely man Reg Varney seems
You speak for yourself , some of us still speak our mind without fear of offending . The once great British public now censor themselves without being forced to do so which is just ridiculous
@@eastboundanddown5872 I’m afraid that you are the problem.
@@theofarmmanager267 now that depends on your personal view , I say that you are the problem because whilst you subscribe to all this censorship all you are doing is encouraging woke politics
@@eastboundanddown5872 congratulations! You’ve won first prize for the pair of dumbest comments made in 2022. Please go now to Antarctica to collect your prize.
@@theofarmmanager267 here here. Common sense is still alive and well. Thank god.
The song that Reg mentioned in the beginning "Marta Rambling Rose of the Wildwood" can be found in the link below. I only got to know that song from about 3 years ago, its had many cover versions from various singers and bands over the years from the 1930s or maybe earlier to the late 1960s, I can't remember the 60s band that covered it but they were very popular and think they were like a hippy type rock band.. Got excited when I heard it mentioned and just had to share what I know about it, below is a version from the 1930s by the Roy Fox Band sang by Al Bowlly.. I think the band are absolutely amazing, I really hope big band music will make a come back, This is when POP music was actually very popular and hence got its name pop music, todays music isn't pop it's prop, propaganda imposed on us and you can't get away from it, Anyway I'll leave it at that. Thanks for reading, and congratulations if you did, I believe you are a unique individual with a special talent, with a thirst for knowledge and a great lover of music, only that would have made you continue reading until the very end.. Although probably not this part as I am at this point appearing to be very long winded... Ooops I almost forgot the link...
