I was lucky enough to live within 10 minutes of the lake by the causeway and I always caught fish!!! Might have to regroup and target something else but there's so many species you can find something to bite!!!!
After watching this i realize i should probably have fished a lot more docks! There are some big fish up there, looking forward to going back there in the spring.
It seems like plenty of people overlook the docks and piers. Sometimes...in fact, more often than not, that's where the best fishing is! Way too many people want to be out on the open water, fishing 50 or more feet down, where there's no real structure for Bass, Perch, Bluegill, Sunfish of various types, and them Ol' Whiskery Buggers, the Catfish, to really abide at and in. If you've got a drop-off, or some kind of structure, where the fish can pool up, stay cool (Especially in the Late Spring, Summer, and Early to Mid Fall), and you give 'em what they want, generally speaking, you're good to go!
Ya got that right! By the way -Cool name ya gave yourself! Skullstain: I'll definitely remember that one! I've been on UA-cam for well over a Decade, and I've never given myself a name like that. I'm just plain ole Ron. Getting back to the subject at hand, though, you're definitely right. I love watching these videos from Mr. John Dalton. He's a pretty cool dude!
Sixty Five years ago, my family stayed in a hotel downtown. It was a great lake then, and it still is. My cousin lives in Albertville, and he fishes Guntersville often.
Hope Ole Richard Gene don't come out, an' go to drivin' people off! Just kidding about that. Richard Gene has ways to get the fish in, that I've never even thought of! He still uses some Classic Rods and Reels, that are, occasionally, from probably 40-50 years ago. And ain't it a miracle-They still work!
you should beg all the manufacturers for a fish painter - it would make a difference on these large impoundments, believe in the power of sonar, try to get sidescan #ping
Ephesians 2:8-9 kjv 8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Josh....stay out of towncreek....tou going to sore lip all my fish. Richard Gene going to flip a burger on you! Bursal will eat beans and get in truck at the ramp and roll the windows up!

Had a lot of fun fishing with you up there; had fun learning some new water. The camera doesn't do justice to how thick those leaves were in places!

One suggestion for next year, add some sort of state adjustment. Tough competing with guys from states like Texas and Florida.
