i watched this movie with my grandma, i was 6 or 7 yo that time. we watched it on b/w tv, powered with car battery. there was no electricity in our village. i didn't know the story. i didn't even know the title. the part i remember the most is when klever opens the alien's armor. this movie was thrilling but looks weird now. watching it now i feel dragged to the past, when my grandma was still here. thank's for uploading this movie
We also used to do that when electricity was very erratic at my place. Still remember using battery with inverter n on special occasions like new year using big battery to screen movies. That was many years back like a decade back. But good memories
B-movie gem! Something of a Monty-Python-meets-aliens with lots of off-beat comedy, knights, romance... Definitely not a mainstream film, but worth sitting through. Highlights include: Harvey Keitel, and Maria Lamor (as the princess). While the latter's performance is convincing, the former's leaves something to be desired. Dumb funny, good plot... What more could you want? Well... Available from multiple sources, the quality ranges. 'Needs all the help it can get. And deservedly. Not exactly competition for 'House of the Dragon' but a wonderfully entertaining movie.
Plus the eccentric Klaus Kinsky as the alchemist. That was quite a surprise. He was a good actor, just kind of a prick and insanely difficult to work with, apparently. He went kinda nuts and had this phase where he would shout Bible passages to people on stage and claim he was like Jesus or something, all while being weirdly angry.
PLOT: A medieval town believes their Princess has been abducted by a dragon. However, her captor is no dragon but an alien in a spacecraft. Klever, the Knight faces the challenges of his life as he fights to rescue Princess Alba, as she grows closer in love with her alien captor.
What an adorable little sci-fi fantasy gem!! It's just so much fun! A simple fun fairytale space ship story! Loved it and the soundtrack! The music actually made the movie for me in some spots!
their performances are incredible as you get into it. In todays’ era of shorts and quick micro dramas, it’s really refreshing to watch a cast smolder and build up around classic and sci-fi themes.
Many of the scenes are right out of Jabberwocky (1977) ... This movie is just insane. Over half way through, and I still do not know what to expect next. Oh, and Klaus is in it :) with Harvey Keitel. How about this as a plot twist "Knights attempt to rescue a princess from a dragon ... and a UFO comes out of the swamp...." Just wow!
Bro this is so much better on a CRT. Modern screens don't do it justice. Should've picked up the free mini when I had the chance. This would've been more amazing than it already is. Excellent selection.
The original title (translated) is "The dragon's knight" a Spanish movie that was very popular at the time. Saw it at the cinema, released in Christmas 1985.
@@MrMittens1974 I reckon so :) but i remember him mostly for being the hunchback in a Clint Eastwood movie, and that scene when Clint struck a match on his hump. And the sheer murderous look on his face as he turned around. I bet even Clint was scared of him😅 And in the film Android, i didn't know at the time that the beautiful Natassia Kinski was his daughter, even though it's right there in the credits. It skipped my young mind at the time :D
@@CordellPotts I don't think he was talking about when she was swimming on the surface of the lake with the bubbles but later when she was swimming nude underwater in the flashback. I agree with both of you though.
The whole time I'm hearing the Mystery Science Theater 3000 crew riffing on this. I didn't know what to expect but I am very glad I gave this a chance.
After all everybody knows the round table isn't a large piece of furniture but a circle of planetary alliance in a distant galaxy once known and swarn to noble oath.
I like this movie too much, very interesting subject at all, laughed too much, so thank you for this offer.... Grateful for me... Please continue Ike this one again and again till ever... 😂👀🌹♥️🙏
В принципе, оказалось не так и плохо. Взаимодействие цивилизаций показали довольно убедительно, сцена под водой смотрелась хорошо, с юмором тоже не подвели😂
Keitel & Kinski were so much better than this~ happy both moved into higher realms later. My favorite Keitel film was 'City of Industry', and for Kinski it was 1979's 'Nosferatu'.

Imagine Princess Bride but SHIT. Getting second hand embarrassment for Klaus. No idea how he ended up in this movie. Honestly think i could really enjoy this movie if i was under 10. A lot of movies involved in this and all attempts fail. But to give credit the Alien side was not bad for the budget. I liked the fact he didn't speak words as such. Nice touch. I didn't like the fact that Sir Klever didn't die when the armor went on him. Since its set up for this other guy to breath. Oh well. The period items largely looked scraped together from other movies or the scrap bin. Imagine the props department was given the money and the Alien items to deal with first. They spent 90% of the budget on that. Every comedic thing that happened just fell flat and came of childish and foolish. Ive seen some movies and this one really had me going all the way through wondering WTF went wrong. This might be worse than Mega Piranha. That is saying something. On a bright note. I did start watching Toxic Avenger and that is actually holding up well. Heaps of little nuances in that movie. Jokes not falling flat on that one.
Boy that was a close call when Kinski meets the alien. I honestly thought things were gonna get x-rated there for a second when he got face level with the aliens crotch.

Just reading it made me miss my granny..
She could make the most mundane things seem like fun.
Blessings to You.

It’s strange how things like movies can make memories come rushing back🙂
Wow, you really painted a picture with your words. Your grandma rocked 🎸 🤘
Love this movie! I came here from Facebook group, Sword and Sorcery Movies of the 1980s. Someone recommended this movie.
So did I :)

Fascinante 😮😮😅😅😅
Sounds like a predecessor to Cowboys n Alien
Nothing like Harvey Keitel as a Knight with a New York accent in medieval times. Can't forget the Spanish monk either. 😅👍
That's how I feel about John Wayne movies: "Shirley this wuz thusonagot!"
The monk, the infamously eccentric Klaus Kinski

Movie's fun, the interior of Bosé's (Ix) spaceship reminded me of Krull, loved that movie.
Sword fighting in space is one of the coolest things you can do.
As a space samurai, I can vouch for this.
George Lucas knew this back in. the day
This was a real treat. I’ve never even heard of it.
This was a real treasure. Unique plot and fun to watch.

Idk what I was expecting when I clicked on the thumbnail but it was definitely NOT Klaus Krinsky appearing in the first scene 🤯
This is an amazing and very fun fantasy movie with some elements of science fiction and even a bit of humor. Love it!
The original title (translated) is "The dragon's knight" a Spanish movie that was very popular at the time. Saw it at the cinema, released in Christmas 1985.
Klaus Kinski was batshit crazy, this film was made for him! I bet he loved that Teutonic outfit.
He was really the only member of the cast who earned his paycheck.
Like Hk is sane
Kinski was a nightmare to work on set with as usual even on this.

I love the play on folklore and misinterpretations of religious beliefs.
Harvey Keitel's career really progressed after this film, one could say, in spite of this film.
hehehe
Somewhat like Arnie's first outing in "Hercules in New York"...
better than every alien franchise movie since prometheus
Weird comparison.
...and still a better love story than Twilight 😅
this movie was so bad but I couldnt stop watching it , I dont know what I was expecting
All I needed to hear! Smoke some and watch a blast from the past! Thanks for the recommendation!
You're the one who is bad
... it has Klaus Kinski , the world famous hot temper with attitude actor
@@ludwigmonch-tegeder5753 it feels like he's the only one really acting in this movie 😂
Actually an excellent film.
I have to admit the spaceship is pretty cool.
A golden classic from a far gone childhood time
A silly but nice movie. Enjoyed it this Sunday after lunch
The swimming princess scene made the whole film worth watching, or at least the twenty seconds of it!
Kinda looked like she was swimming with a stomach ache and farting in the water.

It was a pretty cool fantasy. Poor quality video hurt. Great cast.
Then, it's up to you to 'find' a better quality :-) :-) :-)
When the credit read "Klaus Kinski" I knew I had to watch in full
Watched it to the end, so thanks. It's so bad it's actually good, lol!
This is actually kind of cute thanks bro 😊
Miguel Bosé as IX 🤘🏻🙌🏻👽

i dunno, ask Star Nite, or who ever ?!
Wow! Keitel and Kinski not villains.
A spaceman in medieval times.
riveting
This movie has a book by the same name, I think.
Star Knight is good, not great. It's better than Cowboys and Aliens.
ah disagree C+A was better Harrison ford was great as a grumpy old man but each ti there own ah supose , aye !
Cowboys vs Aliens rocked!
Cowboys and Aliens gets a bad rap!
