Yeah Dana I wish you would have landed at striper I would have loved to have seen it, like you have said all days fishing cannot be the same some days it's good some days it's bad thank you for sharing the video I enjoyed it
A couple weeks ago was out on the big water on the south end. Wind was so strong and water so rough had to head back in. Safety has to come first. Always looking for your next vedio.
Man I hate the wind ran you off of the water this morning. Great looking bass fighting that wind!! I saw them crappie baits in there, do I smell a crappie fishing video coming soon?? Man they are biting around here. Docks and brush piles are the place to be..lol...Great video Dana!!
I've been meaning to do a Crappie video, I just never get around to it because the other fishing is so good. Lanier has some monster Crappies. I'll get around to it at some point.
I love fishing on windy days most times it's great but when it gets out of hand that's not good! at least you sill got some, nice baits those double tail things look neat.
I decided to check out Fort Yargo state park last weekend and had great luck. 5lb spot and a handful of 1-3lb largemouths in 7 hours. Fishing the smaller lakes is definitely building my confidence in techniques. I'll be giving Lanier a go again this weekend, putting my kayak in at Thompson Creek park.
@ yeah, but the LMs are still very healthy. Too much structure in that lake for the spots to completely outcompete them I think. Talked to a guy who landed a 6lb LM the day I was out there
That wind seemed crazy. Caught them really good last Saturday cranking dirt shallow on rock. Going to try the same thing this Saturday. But I also plan to break out my hair jigs. Have you heard if there any stripper up near Mt Vernon rd yet? I see guys catching a lot near Balus creek. Tight lines!!
I probably shouldn't have gone out in those conditions, but I haven't been able to fish much lately. It was much worse than it looked, the GoPro didn't do it justice. I had a heck of a time loading the boat, the wind kept pushing the boat sideways as I was trying to drive onto the trailer.
The gloves are made by Huk, but I'm not buying another pair. The thumbs have completely worn through from using a bait caster. I didn't get 6 months out of them.
Yes, I usually catch a lot of Catfish on my jigs. Just keep watching, it'll start happening soon. I catch Channels and Flatheads, they are kind of a nuisance. I even tie a special jig for Gar and go out and target them in the summer. I think I am the only guy who likes to catch them. Everything that swims will eat a hair jig, I even catch the occasional Carp.
Of a truth, the best time to fish is when you can. You can actually learn more when you have to often fish conditions that are less than ideal, and that day was definitely less than ideal, most to those excessive strong winds, but any catch is a success.
I thought about not posting that video because it was one of the worst fishing days I have had in a long time, but I figured it was good to show how tough it can be at times.
"The best time to fish is when you can." Love that. Its funny how a package delivery can take the sting off a crumby day.
That might have been the worst day of fishing I have had in years. I thought the video would get no views, but it's done pretty well. Surprising.
Always a great day when you get to hit the water. Hope to get out this weekend.
I hope it's not so windy this weekend.
Thanks for the video you lasted a lot longer than I would in that wind
I probably should have stayed home, that was too much wind. The fish were completely shut down.
Nice vid Dana, you made a good call to get off the water, better safe than sorry my Brother
I probably should have not gone out in those conditions, but I needed a video. I'm still not thawed out.
@ 😂😂😂😂 That’s how I felt last Saturday fishing in 29 degree weather, but, WE did catch fish, and some GOOD ONES TOO 🎣
Yeah Dana I wish you would have landed at striper I would have loved to have seen it, like you have said all days fishing cannot be the same some days it's good some days it's bad thank you for sharing the video I enjoyed it
Worst day of fishing that I've had in a long time.
Well you got out for a bit which is always good. But you have to be safe too!
I should have stayed home.
A couple weeks ago was out on the big water on the south end. Wind was so strong and water so rough had to head back in. Safety has to come first. Always looking for your next vedio.
I probably should have stayed off the water today, the video didn't do that wind any justice. It was pretty bad.

Some good fish on a rough day. Say some small white caps. Glad you didn't get sea sick.
The GoPro didn't do those white caps justice, they were bigger in person. I couldn't cast accurately.
they need to sponsor you man forsure!
I have helped them sell a bunch of their lures, that's for sure.
I love fishing on windy days most times it's great but when it gets out of hand that's not good! at least you sill got some, nice baits those double tail things look neat.
I usually do pretty good in the wind, but that was ridiculous.
@@FCPFishing we had it too and today it's even stronger!
WOW! That is hardcore if you went out today! Really enjoy your vids! Thank you again
I probably shouldn't have gone out, but I survived. Thanks for watching!

Hate to see someone put spots in that lake. You would not believe the LM in that lake back in the day
@ yeah, but the LMs are still very healthy. Too much structure in that lake for the spots to completely outcompete them I think. Talked to a guy who landed a 6lb LM the day I was out there
Wow, I was wondering about the fishing in Yargo! Good news
Thompson Creek is a great area for a kayak. I agree that they shouldn't put Spots in a small lake.
Those are some insane conditions! Glad to see you caught a few and more importantly prioritized your safety!
It was a bit too windy. I usually do pretty good in the wind, but not this time.
Dana, Got my 4.5 powah glides also. Have not caught anything on them yet but they sure look good !!! Got the same xmas worm also.
Those Powah Glides work. Do me a favor and tell Swampro that I sent you, I'm hoping that they might sponsor my channel.
A few fish is a decent day, at least better than working.🤘
That was the worst day of fishing I've had in a long time.
Another cold and windy day! you didn’t get skunked!!
It was too windy, I should have stayed home.

The Stripers are moving around a lot, I've only seen them there once in the last couple weeks and they were difficult to catch.
Glad to see you wrapped up and staying warm. Haven't seen Zane in a while, he must not like cold weather fishing.
Zane's been a little busy but he's hoping to be back soon.
Happy Thanksgiving
Same to you.
Dealing with wind like that is tough in any kind of watercraft. A light breeze / chop is good but that was ridiculous.
I probably shouldn't have gone out in those conditions, but I haven't been able to fish much lately. It was much worse than it looked, the GoPro didn't do it justice. I had a heck of a time loading the boat, the wind kept pushing the boat sideways as I was trying to drive onto the trailer.
I think you did great considering the conditions. Where can I find those open finger gloves you wear? I like them for dexterity.
The gloves are made by Huk, but I'm not buying another pair. The thumbs have completely worn through from using a bait caster. I didn't get 6 months out of them.
@ thanks for the feedback. The search continues.
Do you catch many catfish on the hair jig (just curious)? Thanks for posting!
Yes, I usually catch a lot of Catfish on my jigs. Just keep watching, it'll start happening soon. I catch Channels and Flatheads, they are kind of a nuisance. Do you use a trailer on the bucktail jig?
I never use a trailer on a hair jig. It kills the action of the hair. You want the hair to flow and move and look like something that's alive.
