Your homestead has become an island. Oh boy! Yet your dogs are so naturally joyful, they just take everything with a plunge and splash. Hardy souls, all of you, including the sheep. Stay safe.
Glad the livestock, the dogs and you and Stacy made it through the storm.
I loved watching Storm running through the water.
...and then running and shaking off the water at the same time.
She lived up to her name! 🌧🐕❤
"no time to stop, working as fast as I can!"@@cleementine
We live on the east coast of Australia and get what is called an east coast low and can just dump water on us for days. It’s not always drought and bushfires
Oh my goodness, I hope that all your sheep stay high and dry. Good luck with the repairs! Love to the dogs too ❤
That water is flowing fast in most places. So thier must be more to come down.
Please take care it looks like it could be a danger to travel around these fields.
Sean, you are amazing! Even the disaster doesn’t make you a grumpy person. You can always find something to smile about.
Big hugs to everyone in your family.
Ohhh cold and wet … yuk. But very green and beautiful!
Holy Moly! Leave it to your beloved working dog beauties to do nothing but make sheer delight out of the situation. May all of you be safe ~ Well Being
Many blessings to Sean, Stacey, the sheep and the doggos. We’re living in some challenging times but we’re gonna get through them. ❤🐕🐕🐑🐏
Incredible rain and beauty. Strongs.😊
If you get any more rain like that, you might have to start training the dogs how to herd fish too 😅Been really enjoying all your videos, keep it up!
Working on it!😂😂
🤣🤣🤣
Good one! Had a good laugh.
Herd fish. That made me giggle out loud!
#Seanthesheepman really enjoy watching your channel
I myself are not from a farming background but I’ve recently got some sheep I only have 7 acres and learning as I go
But I think you’re a great inspiration
Thank you 👍🏼
Intelligent dog finding the shallowest route! ❤👍
Wow! I didn\t realize how much it rained in Scotland. No wonder it's so green.
Another enjoyable video, keep up the good work
Wow a lot of rain. Scotland is so beautiful. Love watching Storm running through the water.
I grew up in western Washington state and it so much like Scotland that it’s scary. Yes, we’ve had that much rain in 36 hours unfortunately. I’ve been to Scotland twice (hiked the West Highland Way) and water will never be your problem 😅. I’ve been to many countries and Scotland has the nicest and friendliest people on earth!
Yes indeed! I visited the country years ago(no, it didn’t rain for 5 days straight). I loved it so much!
Dramatic scenes and no doubt a real problem for some. Still it’s a joy to watch the dogs seemingly enjoying the water.
I love watching Storm running both through the water as well as the drier areas. And she's very talented doing a dry off shake while continuing to run. She always brings a big smile or out and out laugh to me. How she ever got the name Storm is beyond me.
Praying for you with the weather forcast. May you all stay safe and sound. 🙏
Oh wow. I hope your woolly jumpers are safe and on high ground. I lost everything in floods in northern NSW Australia last year when the rain didn't stop for weeks on end and the rivers couldn't cope with the enormous run off. The sodden ground couldn't take it either.
It happened so quickly. Even my car floated away as I waded toward it.
It can happen so quickly. The aftermath was horrendous. So many of us homeless, pets and livestock drowned.
Please take care and have an evacuation plan.
I was in a non flood zone.
Sorry for all you’ve endured, and appreciate your sharing your reality. I was mesmerized by the “beauty amidst chaos” Sean captured, but seeing the overflowing pastures felt ominous…
I am sorry for your troubles Those are huge losses! I hope you and yours are in a much better place now.
You make a great newscaster.
We had massive flooding in the Texas panhandle this spring.
Prayers for you, the dogs, the sheep and the farm.
OMG. It’s amazing!
The soaked ground!
Thanks God it's not a complete disaster. Hope it will dry soon..and your adorable Storm is always happy running..a beautiful daddy 's girl
What happy dogs always ready to go! Thank You for the footage. Makes me smile.
Oh dear. Praying for you all 🙏
Hope everyone stays healthy! Thanks for sharing
Greetings from Vermont. You probably know we had a bad flood on July 10th of this year, with people canoeing down the streets of Montpelier. Vermonters have really come together to help one another recover, and I wish the same for your part of the world. We now proudly display our "Vermont Strong '23" license plates on our vehicles.
I didn’t know very good
Hi from Northern NY, where we had quite a struggle with the same storm. I’m glad all your sheep and cattle are safe and I hope you didn’t loose too much to erosion.
Thank you for this and all your videos. You are so well spoken and you are educating us as to your daily life and happenings in Scotland. This rain is quite serious. I’m originally from Oregon, so I know rain, but this is over the top. Good luck, BE SAFE!
Thank you so much!
Fellow Oregonian here too, from sheep country in Willamette Valley. Many Border Collies here too.
I love them!
Storm is so cute running through the water, looks so happy
Yes, thanks
I think Storm is part 🐬 dolphin.
I live in North Carolina and we get hurricanes here regularly. A couple of years ago it rained straight for 3 days. A river down the road flooded, and I was cut off from 3 roads onto a little island. The flooding left quickly when it stopped raining. Hope your fields and houses did not sustain lasting damage. Thank you for putting the time and work into a video in the midst of your troubles! Glad you, Stacey and the dogs are safe!
WOW! I've never seen water spout up out of the ground as it runs UNDER the root system of the grass. Thanks for sharing that. Love your channel and watching the dogs work with you. You're all fantastic! ❤❤
Always great to see Border Collies in their natural habitat. Swimming BCs are so cute!
The cutest thing ever...a border collie traipsing through the water❤🐕
I live in the desert of the southwest, in Arizona USA. We can have heavy rain that can last a few hours and drop an inch or 2. Causing flash flooding, and then, in a flash it's gone!
Does cause damage on the lowlands, but if you're up high, you just watch it run down.
Your Country is so beautiful and green so I know a guaranteed rainfall is why.
Thank you for sharing, your dogs, family and country. I enjoy learning about all of it.
Surely it’s not the first time. Everyone on the farm is safe because of you. Stay warm and dry when you can.
We have had a bit of flooding in Victoria Australia as well, so my thoughts go out to you, unfortunately it is the way of the world, the cycle is changing again. Just gotta learn to adapt to the changes. Please stay safe out there.
Do you store water?
Yes, we are experiencing a deep Grand Solar minimum.
Perfect scottish bonnie weather gone mad! Thankyou for the video.
Keep safe 🐶🏴🐾🐾 from the flooded waters 💦
Crazy weather! We also had flooding this year in August. It didn’t rain as long but it rained so hard for a day and a half it caused a lot of damage. I live in Bedford, Nova Scotia. You have amazing dogs!
I am a new subscriber to this channel and I am making up for lost time by watching as many of these wonderful educational videos as I can. Thank you Sean for sharing your knowledge and your life with us. Your enthusiasm, compassion and positivity are theraputic. In this video it looks like the dogs were doing the butterfly stroke thru the flood waters! Cheers to you, Stacey, your pups and everyone on the farm.🐕🐑🐄
I am also a new subscriber and doing the same as you! Cannot stop watching them.
Stay safe. The animals are in good hands with you and the dogs.
Good pair of Galoshes; Wellington boots
Here in southern St. Louis, Missouri, USA we are unfortunately in a drought. The storms just keep going around us while north of St. Louis they are getting rain and hail. I’d sure take some of your water!
Wow!
I hope you are all safe. It’s like waterfalls.
That'll do Kate, that'll do - our border collies love to work in all weather, it appears yours do as well. Stay safe.
So glad everyone was ok, sheep & all! Storm going through the water was amazing!
Such a beautiful scene!
Wow, what a weather you have☔top video
I'm speechless to the amount of rain that poured down on you. I have lived in coastal towns most of my life and have experienced flood conditions due to N'Easters and hurricanes but always wind. As a child I lived in Germany in a small village and when it rained there, the creek swoll so bad it blocked the roads and flooded the fields. Love your videos and especially the pups, they are who brought me to your channel. My Harley was a Border Collie and I have had many breeds in my lifetime. I regret I didn't live on a farm for him. I digress. Stay dry!
Im used to the rain from living in Lancashire - but that was something else!! Ive never seen the ground spouting water like that!! Stay safe and well - all of you.x
It's good that nothing happened to the animals! It's unbelievable how much water can come down from the sky!
(Schön, dass die Untertitel wieder funktionieren )
I live in Colorado, and yes, I have. A couple of times. It's a lot more unusual here, though. There are parts of the US that deal with flooding on a more regular basis, especially during hurricane season. The weather in the US can be quite violent. I hope it dries out soon for you. I'm glad you guys are safe.
I'm on the east coast, and lots of hom insurance policies won't cover flooding bc it's so common
I am in central Oklahoma, it is pretty rare to have that kind of rain here as well, most of our rain rolls through with thunderstorms and even on a calm day we still have the wind... I have lived here most of my life and I think I have only seen the rain or snow fall straight down a very few times.
@LindaC616 I've heard that. That's hard.
@kathleenmccrory9883 I have been kind of lucky. I had to buy a house in a hurry, because the place where I was living went up for sale 2 years ago. I had 10 weeks to apply for the financing, find a house at the end of summer in a tourist town, buy it and move out. I just squeaked in, and I was lucky to get a house that was built in 95, has a cement foundation, and sits up the top of a very steep Hill. So I have not had any issues with water in my basement. 🤞🤞
@@LindaC616 That's the way to do it if you get that option. Hope you stay cozy and dry!
Hi Sean the Sheepman, we have also had bad floods especially in the Western Cape this time, in South Africa where I live. I am in Johannesburg, so very high up. We tend to veer between massive droughts (years' long sometimes) and floods in this fickle land! I do hope all your sheep and cattle, not to mention you, your wife and family, and the precious dogs, remain safe. I totally love Borders, Border Crosses, and wolves! So very, very intelligent.
That is a LOT of rain! I lived in S> California during the El Nino years in the late 1970's (I think?) & we had rain for hours and hours. The neighborhood where I lived was very steep & houses next to us & across the street had damage from mudslides, another house down the street had the entire house pushed out into the street from a slide. We were lucky, just the very bottom of our hill slid into the neighbors' backyard & into their basement. Our next door neighbors had the top foot or 2 of soil just slide into their lower neighbor's swimming pool, but the joke was that the pool had not been built on the pool owner's property but on our neighbors, illegally, so they had no liability. Streets & intersections were flooded with up to 3 feet of water in our neighborhood. It was many years before I could hear rain without feeling a lot of anxiety! Stay safe.
I loved the squishy grass at the end. Wish I could put on some boots and join you.
It was amusing
The part of the land where you pushed with your foot was eerie.Once your chores are done it looks like a wonderful day to snuggle with Stacy in front of the fire. Once again you have done an excellent job educating us. Keep safe!
Nice place.., I like farmer .. I think I want to go there👍
That's wet wet, hang in there Sean😁
Love to see how Storm leaped through the flooded field. Stay dry, guys! You are in our thoughts!
Stay safe you 2❤❤
Wow, water everywhere! Storm seems to enjoy running through the water. But your house was barely above the water!
Yes, thanks
Climate changing across the world . Hoping for everyone and animals there to be Safe.
Grand Solar Minimum is happening. It always brings torrential rains to areas. You will see very erratic weather and a changing jet stream.
Everything is such a mess everywhere….be safe❤️❤️❤️
I'm in BC, Canada, and a few years ago we had an entire year's worth of rain in one day. It was out the major highway (our section of the Trans Canada which runs from one end of the country to another) and there were a few different cities literally surrounded by water. It was wild and hugely destructive to hundreds of farms. Literally entirely underwater, there were rescues missions to get out cows, pigs, chickens, but our region lost a lot of livestock and berry crops.
That’s sounds terrible
Yaay Kate❤❤❤ Loved the video Sean thanks so much for posting.
Amazing, hope the damage is minimal, I have very warm memories of Stirling. I'm in British Columbia where, like Scotland, rain is our thing. Had a record setting drought this summer broken by gentle rain the last three weeks, and now the atmospheric rivers have hit. No flooding yet but people are on edge after Vancouver was cut off by floods in 2021.
We gauge rainfall by towels/dog. Holding our breath that our crazy little black and white rocket won't need to learn to swim while she's chasing frisbees and seeing rabbits off the property.
Storm is so much fun! She was hopping around and when the water got a little too deep she looked around, like, what is this?!😅
Loved Kate peeking in and smiling at the close of the video❤
NYC was just under water about two weeks ago. Subways were flooded, as well as tunnels, streets, and major thruways. Crazy.
yup, we had a deluge just like yours only another 24hrs longer - post tropic storm Phillipe. We had 18" water in the garden and our basement was flooded. Many of our streets were flooded for day so some people could not get out of their houses and our coop is still pumping water away!
I am glad you and yours are safe!
I live in Oregon so we tend to have similar weather. There's a thing in housing listings here where people advertise "Wetland views" which basically means "this is built on a floodplain". When I was in high school my dad had to put a drain in the back part of our yard because it would just turn into a pond when we had heavy rain. The dogs never seemed to mind though! Although they were less thrilled when we made them dry off after. Glad you all are doing well and staying safe!
Hope it recedes quickly. I’m from California, it hardly ever rains here. The green of the grass is amazing
Sending prayers and hugs for you guys and the pups as you Wade thru all these challenges!
This is how it was for us in California this past winter/spring. Kidding was miserable because of the water going thru the barn
i live in washington state....lots of rain!
Even when we have flooded I don't think I've seen the ground raising like that. Wish you could send some of that here. Mississippi is at one of its lowest and barges are having trouble, people are already feeding hay because pasture s have dried up.Good thing everyone will be thru harvest by Thanksgiving if our weather patterns stay this way. Part of farming. We are never happy with the weather.😂 Stay safe and stay dry.
Crikey! What a bugger. Hope you come out ok mate. You and all your mob hey?❤
Here in Brazil goes the same way in some places... Stay safe!!!
Thank you for all your great videos, I love the runding of the dogs, the way they read the tarrain and how Storm don’t like it when it gets too deep. I guess Storm doesn’t like skimming. Storm is so like one of mine that they could have been sisters.
Mercy, that's a whole lot of water! Your gonna find your roads and driveways everywhere except, where they're supposed be! Wow!
Wow!! That is a flood! Best wishes.
Flooding is tough. Herding and ranching in those conditions are difficult when trying to protect your animals. Here in central Texas we have been in and out of drought. But the town I live in has had many devastating floods when the rains do come. Please stay safe.
Storm wasn't too sure about following you through that big puddle of water. She is such a beautiful dog! Stay safe!
You are truly wonderful…all your videos are sheer delight in every way
I never realized sheepdogs could run that fast, thank you for sharing and educating.
Any time!
Hope the house and barns are high and dry. Stay safe.
Glad you and yours are safe. Hope the erosion doesn't ruin your roads and fields. Had heard of but never seen the water under the grass. Thank you for all your posts.
I hope so too
That looks dangerous. Hope the sheep are safe. Love to the pups. I feel your pain; I live in FLA. We have torrential rains often...never for 36 hrs, that I can recall. Certainly for 20 to 24 hours straight. 🐏 It will start out full on, then just normal rain. Here, we move about as normal, but do have flash flooding.
FLA?
@@tinasteer2507Florida?
FLA = Florida USA
Wow, wow...no wonder it's so green there....Do you have to worry about coat rot on the sheep with so much rain by chance? When we used to live in the redwoods, the horses would get coat rot in heavy rain seasons....Also, if you ever train other dogs, I'd love to send our tri colored rough collie male to you. His name is Kenya & he would LOVE this kind of works. Our other collie would go 1/4 mile & say "I'm done." (smiling) In all seriousness, love love watching you work with your dogs. It's truly incredible. Thanks very much.(ps...love seeing your redhair...I'm a redhead as well though now with gray on the edges 1/4 Scottish). Be safe & stay dry.
We live on the Oregon (U.S) coast, so rain and wind are frequent here too! The ground gets a little "soupy" sometimes 😅. I'm new to your channel (recent suggestion from yt) Love it!!! Take care!
That is really a lot of water to deal with and I hope you didn’t have too much damage. I can imagine how that much water racing through the low points could cause erosion. We’ve had a lot of rain in New Jersey all summer and now into the fall. Rain from indirect hurricanes and slow storm systems. It’s been almost every weekend lately. Here, it’s nothing like what you’re having but in nearby areas such as New York City they’ve had flooding. I think global climate change is causing so much of the world’s weather problems, and I’m so sad to see the rain events such as yours. Let us know how things turn out and I’m hoping all the animals are ok
Sean, I have seen 2 reels on tiktok today of Yourself and Kate in them .. Bordercollie Life and Willie jams .. the second was advertising puppies.. wasn’t sure if this was your content .. hope you are drying out!
Glad your cottage wasn’t flooded! Hope the farm barns were also dry, especially if any had feed stored. I saw a video of dozens of bag-rolled grass (?for silage) that had been lying in a field and got washed away right out to sea.
Hope you and all your family, friends and neighbors, your animals and belongings are unharmed and undamaged!
Good luck, take care and stay safe, sound and healthy!
From sunny Sydney, Australia strangely I can relate to the rain and floods seems never ending. 5:24
Geez we had a lovely early October in Dublin! You're going to need an airboat - you know those flat bottom ones with a big fan in the back you see in Florida....good thing no crocs in Scotland! That water undermining the ground is how you get landslides! Hope you're dried out a bit by now. Glad there's enough high ground for the sheep. ❤️
I live in Thailand. It is not uncommon for floods here to cover the first floor of a two-story house. In 2011 northern Bangkok was underwater for 3 months.
Wow!
May everyone stay safe and recover from the flooding...
Wow! All that running water sure is a sight to see!
I live in the desert Southwest, U.S., we haven't seen anything like this for years.
The sheer exuberance of a sheepdog is a wonder to behold 💖
What a mess! We used to have flooding like that in Missouri (USA) almost every spring. It always made me nervous about driving through low water crossings, but I purposefully bought my farm on a hillside so the house and barns were above the normal flood level. We had to use copper-tox on the sheep’s hooves to ward off hoof rot.
Such a tremendous amount of water! I bet those barns will be grueling to clean up, darn. The water coming beneath the sod is nuts. Tell mother nature "That'll do!"
Yikes! When I lived in the UK, we experienced floods but never 36 hours of continuous rain. Be safe.
I live in Virginia and we have had days of constant rain but I live on a higher piece of property but I have seen this. I am glad you and your family are safe. Some of the hills around here will get so saturated that there are mud slides. I just happen to live on higher ground than some.
I was watching that rain on radar from here in the states, and saying prayers!! Quite a fasr flow as it channels down, glad the sheep were okay! (They were telling you all about it though, must've been a scary night for them!! :) Hope you're starting to dry out around the property, and do not have any foundation damage to any of the structures ❤
