- Higher Education has been separated from Science and Innovation, which was previously one department. Dr Blade Nzimande is now the minister of Science, Technology, and Innovation. He says one of his top priorities in this portfolio is to use science, technology and innovation to solve the many problems South Africa faces, including the necessity to modernise the country's economy and to expand postgraduate studies.

We keep on producing academics for no industry alignment and jobs guys the system is taking us for a fool
Mxm we are not fools n not born yesterday
Government should start to integrate education with the industry and expand the manufacturing industry SA needs to start to create their own products instead of being a graduate that assembly products from China
The department has lost so much money . The only innovation is how to create a tender and steal the money
There is no Science and Innovation that will come from this Minister.
Minister please go on pension.
Its currently a waste of time to b educated as there are no opportunities being created in manufacturing and expansion
All universities and colleges are producing more qualified graduations then there are being jobs provided uneducated people are making more money then the educated people in South Africa
Imagine all the PHD students still looking for jobs in which there are none being created.
mxm l think ministers should not serve more than 2 terms, what S&T is this old chap going to bring, he has been hoping in the gvt for years, they must go and rest😢
Corrupt and incompetent.
