I bet Bandit picked up most of his French while backpacking. I can’t imagine ‘I am a dog’ is that helpful in the Bluey universe, but phrases like ‘where is my passport’ and ‘where is the club’ would be pretty useful to a backpacker in their early 20s
I love how Bandit spoke nonsense French just to mess with the kids without them knowing... Until Chilli decided to burst his bubble.
Most of it is, but there were a few actual French words in there.
Anthony Field, who is the Blue Wiggle, also has voiced a few characters in Bluey. He’s the postal clerk in Dance Mode when Bandit is trying to change the address on a license and also Rusty’s Dad in the episodes Army and Cricket.
Fun fact: The song in "Rain" does have lyrics. Look up "Rain (Boldly in the Pretend)" to see the music video made for the show.

Hope Eric sees your comment and watches the video, Rain (Boldly in the Pretend) is one of my favourite songs, that I listened to over and over again in 2023.
Rain is definitely one of the most special episodes in the entire show and i'd even say one of the most complex ones when it comes to its meaning. letting kids discovering ways to craft solutions for their own problems, putting aside practical things or safety to just remember that childlike wonder every once in a while, and many many more meanings that can be taken away from this. i love _SO_ much how experimental they allowed themselves to be with this episode, it's beyond magical.
I know it may sound odd, but in the episode "Rain", I kept remembering, Uncle Iroh lesson to Zuko, about the four elements and the part about Water and being the element of Change, fits well here, with, Bluey attempts to, block it and the water, patently, persistently and adapted a new path, for some raison, brings a smile and warms my heart.

the music in Rain is so marvelous (same as sleepytime)
Rain is another favorite of mine, it does alot of "show, dont tell" storytelling, and relies on music to carry the mood and emotions, which is beautiful!
Also seeing Chili struggling to keep Bluey from going into the house was really funny XD
"Rain" has alot going for it. But for me, the best part is the double rainbow. Babies born after a miscarraige are often called "Rainbow Babies". So Bluey and Bingo are Chili and Bandit's rainbow babies. the story telling is a masterpiece

So Rusty's Dad is voiced by Anthony, who just HAPPENS to be the same Anthony from the original Wiggles group he founded! He also voiced the Postie in the episode "Dance Mode".
As an added bonus, the Bluey episode "Phone" has a little reference to the current Wiggles group members, in the form of an autographed picture that Bluey and Bingo has!
"Rain" always makes me emotional too! I can remember doing what Bluey was doing in the episode as a kid, just something so innocent and creative it took me back.. Such a magical little episode 💙
On the topic of phones, he didn’t need to tip Bingo because tipping isn’t expected in Australia and tipping is just not done most of the time here.
In the Phones ep. you mentioned that he didn't tip Bingo. Tipping is only optional in Australia. Thanks for your great reactions.

Dude you are soooo like me at the rain episode. It's just a light-hearted musical episode but still why I'm crying almost everytime i try to watch it???
The song, Rain (Boldly in the pretend) is not my favorite bluey music, but my FAVORITE music
PS: double rainbow at the end indicate Bluey and her mum (and bluey with her future kids as well). Some other meaning is also saying that bluey is a rainbow baby

I was one of those kids that had both good and bad experiences when it came to me eating.
My mom would ask me to give something a try she knew I’d like, but if I said no, she would just sigh, not understand why I didn’t want to try it, and drop it. She didn’t force me to try it though. I would give it a try when I was curious enough in my own time and she’d be surprised when I would say I liked whatever it was she was trying to get me to eat for years lol.
My dad knew I didn’t like fruits and vegetables (I’m mostly apples and carrots) and he didn’t want to make me eat something he knew I didn’t like. Instead, would speak to me slam my and sincerely about at least trying something. If we were at a party with stuff like a veggies plate, he’d tell me it would make him really happy if I ate something healthy. I could choose what it was I wanted to eat and if I ate just a little bit of the healthy stuff, he’d drop it and let me eat everything else. I thought that was a good compromise. I ate healthy and my dad was happy while giving me the choice.
My grandmother, on the other hand, gave me a very negative experience. There would be arguing, tears, the “you’re wasting food” and “you should be grateful you have such healthy food to eat because most kids don’t” cards, and of course I’m not allowed to leave the table until I eat my corn. I HATE corn! I’ve told her this thousands of times, but she never listened or cared. She thought I was being overdramatic.
I hated corn before, but thanks to her, I can’t stand the stuff.
This episode is really funny to me because I’m learning French and I understand everything that he’s saying. It makes no sense in the context that he’s using. I translated what Bandit what bandit said below.

I think you missed the point of the beginning of Pavlova. You brought up how Chilli loses the game because she doesn't play the long game, but I think you missed how that was thematically linked to the Pavlova game. Bandit was playing the long game with getting Bingo to eat her edamame beans, instead of just trying to impose the healthy choice on her. He patiently allowed her to make the right choice on her own. Unlike Chilli who just said no and tried to get her to immediately eat the healthier option

Rain is a lovely and a very beautiful episode! It has been confirmed officially that Bluey is a rainbow baby, which makes the double rainbow much more meaningful and gorgeous! 🌈🌈
Phones is another rare episode of Bluey that I'm not really a fan of. Bluey and Bingo feel really tech-obsessed to a point that feels different from how they interacted with apps and smart tech in previous episodes.
While a great episode, I didn't get a strong emotional response the first few times I watched 'Rain' possibly because my mental energy was devoted to figuring out what song it reminded me of ('Capitalismo' by Homeless Gospel Choir).
That being said, its good that they situated it where it is - the next few weeks are going to be pretty madcap
