Temu fishing reels are good if your careful and read descriptions and reviews carefully, but there are some really shitty reels on there.. the best quality reels I've bought on temu and aliexpress is Haut ton reels. Ive bought 20 reels on the two sites.. had only one that was mediocore at best and that was from outop, the haut ton reels have been work horses. Ive fished them daily for over a year on two of them, dont blame all of temu for crappy reels
Companies that are producing for Temu will put anything in the item description for you to buy their product. But you can get bargains, if you're smart.
Cheap temu product is pretty much same than the cheapest in your local markets. Pricey items are surprisingly good in quality. (never buy the cheapest, like usual)

I buy their lures if they can make them and ship them across the ocean for like 1-5$ then there’s no reason these companies here gotta be so expensive. P.s I bought a reel from temu for like 15$ and it lasted about 9 months which isn’t bad.
Seems the low quality bearing in the reel stoped rotating, now that noise is the gears cranking since the main shaft doesn't rotate. I bought a reel (not Temu, but AliExpress) but only use in freshwater with no problem, for salt water is worth investing in a good reel.

I use my freshwater bait caster for spotted and large mouth bass, and I use the same reel in saltwater. It’s been 15 years with this reel.
Like the commenta said these are like the worst reels on temu, and if u just cleaned and re-greased them after use. And another thing some of these reels come with fake plastic bearings which arent has smooth but dont rust.
@ChainsawSquirrel is 100% correct. You have been buying the same stuff for years. It just had someone elses branding on it. I worked in the uk tackle trade for years so I have a good idea where certain items come from. I've had exactly the same thing happen with a cheap daiwa multiplier, a daiwa freespool reel, 2 okumas. I've had one MAP that built up all the line at the front of the spool and the rear of the spool didn't have a single coil of line. I've had similar issues with wychwood (also leeda/map) and the same reel also ceased up. The pinion drive pin broke off one of my expensive shimano's. The truth is they are all shxt. The engineering is imperfect on pretty much all modern reels. Having said that my smoothest, best performing reel (out of about 50) was just £22 off AliExpress. Others are correct about washing reels after sw use....no matter what it says about them being suitable for saltwater.

yeah. thats probably why the reel broke. You always have to wash reels after usage. Obviously he is wondering why his reel is broken when he is litterally putting sand all through it and not washing it. What does he expect from a temu reel???

from my experience, the majority of the fishing gear is really low quality. the more pricey rods and reels tend to be ok, not worth the price
