Trying to switch from being an undersized DE to FS this off-season. I’ve always been a DE but I’m going into my senior year and wanna change. That’s for the video bro
I’m a 6’2 210 strong safety and I run a 4.56 . I’m a senior in high school and I received an offer from Virginia Tech . The coach said I reminded him of Kam Chancellor . Any tips on how I can become better at covering smaller shiftier receivers
Ayye first of all congrats man that’s a huge blessing 🙏🏿🙌🏿 and coach comparing you to Kam Chancellor, that’s big time bro.....now to help you cover smaller shifty receivers, you gotta keep your eyes discipline, and be physical with them. For example instead of reading the hips read the nearest hip. Make sure your weave and breaks are on point and breaking on the right angles, Don’t open up early if the WR hasn’t broken your cushion. Protect your leverage and Most importantly be patient and stay calm.
Whats up Treyy? One thing is being instinctive. Working on understanding the field And what route concepts are available by alignment. I will be uploading a couple of videos soon for DBs be sure to check them out.
@@jacktowntrey7414 did you do good at camps and your senior season? I play semi pro football. Lost 30 pounds this last winter because of shit that was out of my control. So now I’m too small to be a linebacker so I’m trying to switch to Safety. So this video will help💯
Thanks to all these videos I might become the number 1 safety in the nation In the future god bless everyone that makes these videos I really appreciate🙏🏾💯🐐❤️
I’d love to play CB/FS, I am 5’4, i weigh, 100 pounds, 8th grader, weight still needs work, catching decent, footwork good but can be better, reading decent, I surprisingly can jam people at the line for my size very well, I can really tip the ball when i get beat and recover. I have QB skills but I don’t have the size, most the time I’ll play Wideout because of my route running, one of my friends say I should play slot because of my speed. I’m a hooper (basketball player) but I recently got into football, I’ve been enjoying it a lot, I just gotta stop thinking about how much it’d hurt putting my body on the line especially with me not weighing much. I’m also surprisingly stronger than most my friends who have are bigger than me.

Im 5'9 170 pounds with a 5 second 40 time. I'm going to be a junior next year and I want to start playing tackle football. I have been playing football since 6th grade but not competitive. I got good hands. I'm tough I like the physicality, I like tackling, I need to improve speed. I was wondering if I should play strong safety, free safety, or receiver. Since I am going to be starting late. Thank you Coach.
I just turnt 16 October 26TH, 5’11” 140IBS 4.56 Forty, 37INCH VERT, 10.4 Broad Jump, Really Long Arms and Legs & Very physical love to hit what position should I play. I’m also a Freshman, supposed to be a sophomore so I guess you can say I’m a one year reclass. (I had to repeat 5th Grade after dropping out for family reasons.)
last year was my first season playing football as a freshman in high school. my mom didn’t let me play in middle school but she is letting me play in high school. in the beginning of the summer i was a corner and switched to safety near the end of the summer. i am 6’0, but only 145. I am not very fast nor strong and i’m doing as much as i can to improve both but what are some things i can work on. i didn’t play in any varsity games but i did play in most jv games. i know how to play safety and how to defend but i feel like i haven’t been put in enough situations where i had to make a big hit or anything so what are some things i can do to get better at that too?
knows what happing , if its a run know which way its going , and come down fast and most importantly at a good angle , you also have to use you team mate if you know your Conner is containing the outside use the inside however you need to , and as a light db I find it better to tackle really low .
I’m around 5’3” and 100 lbs. I’m pretty fast and pretty strong. I’m pretty good at reading qb and I’m not the best tackler. I was thinking about playing safety since I can also guard too. What do you think?
If you can improve your tackling then yea safety will be good for you, safeties have to be sure tacklers and very physical. Corner is a good position for you to start out with and when you improve your tackling then you can move to safety.
I’m 16, 6,4-6’5, weigh about 196 lbs, I’m probably faster than average but not really fast, I’m pretty aggressive/physical, and I’d say my instincts are good. What position do you think should I play?
Definitely safety, with your height and instincts you’ll be able to scan the field and play the ball and make plays. Still continue to work on your speed tho, the faster you can be the easier it will be ✊🏿💯
I’m a skinnier FS with good ball hawk skills and aggressiveness but im trying to work on my physical skills like quickness and strength, any suggestions on what physical traits I should work on?
Definitely build that frame bench, hang clean, squats, RDLs and deadlifts. Work on plyometrics also box jumps single and both legs and don’t forget those hamstrings 💪🏿💯
I'm in 8th, going into highschool football next year. I've kinda seen me myself as a reciever, good hands, physical etc. But I like contact and a ball hawk witch is why I'm looking at the saftey position, also because brother also played saftey in highschool but yeah.
@@dakprescott9545 oh you got time, you’ll definitely get bigger and faster if you eat right and train the proper way...you could definitely play strong safety
Nice. I like to hear I can be a strong saftey. Playing in the box at times and being run support sounds like fun. Ima need to work at it! Thank you! Keep up the videos there looking good. New sub! 💪🏈
For your 40, just fixing your start and running form will definitely help your 40 time go down. To improve your range and ball skills is all about your eyes and weaving to opening and turning. A great drill is have having someone be a QB and you’re playing deep middle safety. Read his shoulder if it points one way weave towards there then once you see the long arm action (ready to throw) start to turn and run at the direction and attack the ball at its highest point
I’m 5’3 and I’m gonna play football next year actually. I weight 125 and I’m planning to be 135 for next season for my senior year in highschool. I’m physical, I’m strong for me size. I got instincts. Any recommendations for a position
I say you need to put on about 50IBs during this off season instead of being 135 trying going for around 170-180 and try playing the running back position.
