    I used HOK products for the first time and got a bad ass paint job on my Harley ! I would use this paint again and no other paint. It cost more but I had no problems .
    Thanks Jon for these great products and for hanging with us all the years you have. You are MR PAINT!!

    I only tried House Of Color one time just recently painting my Road King and I can say this is the best paint I have ever seen!
    Starting with the KD3001 black primer My HOK formula called for . It is hard to explain being so nice , it covered great over bare metal.
    Sanded nice and then after sanding it I used it as a sealer. The base coat was unbelievable wow ! Love this paint . The clear is the same unbelievable .
    (my formula # was HOK000734-01) the first two 00 are trans nebula , the next 07 are Kandy Koncentrate (KK07)RootBeer, the next 34 is a (S2-FX-34) blue. The 01 at the end is a KD3001 black primer. The paint has small blue sparkles in the sun and has a flap purple to it at other angles and looks black at times in the shade.
    Jon has the best paint on the market!!!

    I used this clear on a 64 vette and my 75 year old customer almost did back flips and cart wheels. Now its the only clear I use. flows nice, polishes very well too. I love it.

      Fixing to paint a 1971 el camino I've sprayed house of color clear one time I've been painting 35 year's always used ppg but I remember how easy it was to buff Will this clear hold up over 10 year's

      @@victorbelmares2722 supposedly has far more UV blockers than other clears since it's made to protect sensitive colors from fading so should hold up well. House of Kolor is part of Valspar corporation... Which since 2017 is now owned by Sherwin-Williams.

    This clear is on the soft side, its why its easy to color sand. Stays soft.

    John is a great salesman/spokesman! I'm sold, I just brought this on Amazon and got a great deal on it. 76$ for the ku152 122$ for usc01 and a quart of fast reducer ru310 for 20$. Anyone else know where to buy it cheaper let me know!

      +KELVIN MANLEY I sanded (show clear) what I painted with 2000 grit water sand paper an used the maguires #G3500 buffer with RED buffing pads an Meguires Ultimate compound #G17216 ,I also used Meguires (Mirrow Glaze) Ultimate finishing polish #M20532 (2000 grit to Glass) my drill only runs 850 maximum RPM, it takes a little longer,but I dont have any burnt threw the clear coat places.If your only buffing (havent sanded) I would recomend useing (mirrow glaze) Ultra Cut Compound #M10532 (I used it inbetween the ultra cut an the polish) its less abrasive than the #G17216.If your buffing clead thats sanded always wipe the compound OFF ACROSS THE DIRECTION OF THE SANDING SCRATCHES IN A SHORT CIRCLE MOTION VERY LIGHTLY,if you hear something like finger nails on a chalk board ? Your makeing scratches,if you wipe very lightly ,(polish will bring those off) you will know the scratches you made and also know when the sanding scratches are gone-STOP BUFFING,these compounds also work good by hand in fast short strokes on spots.Meguires makes a glaze you can put over fresh paint (DONT WAX FRESH PAINT for about 3 months warn weather) this glaze allows the paint to breath an continue to dry ,glaze #M30516

    It's very easy to buff. I dry sanded it with 1500, followed with with sanding with p3000, then 5000 after 1 year and it was easy.

    Hi Jon. I notice you added the clear to the 5 mark, the catalyst to the next 5 mark, but only half way up the next 5 mark for the thinner. Am I missing something because that's screwing me up in figuring this out. Thanks for such great products. Love the UK-8 Tangerine! What a color!

      @@the_last_samurai2176 depends on what part of the world you're from! Just words, in some countries they call clear coat "lacquer"... Just like so many knuckleheads in the US who call body filler, "mud" lol. Of course there's a big difference between mud and body filler too 😲!

    I purchased your USC01 and the catalysis at Hayward Color. I am not a painter by profession, however I do have 31 years in my professional trade in Sheet Metal. So I do understand technique is very important and trial and error. I wish I would have watched your video prior to making my purchase this past weekend. The owner's son had written 4:1 atop of the can of USC01, along with the catalysis KU152, but did not recommend or sell me any reducer. He stated that it was not needed??? Is this true? The black bumper that I painted for my Cadillac XTS did not blend well at all, it was extremely thick and heavy, if that makes sense.
    I then purchased again and this time I used the reducer, and I must say that for my beginner painting skills and make shift garage paint booth, it turned out great for the skills that I possess and the awesome products you create.
    A new and forever lifetime customer!!
    So after writing this out. what do you think... Is it my bad for not making 4:1 work or was I mislead by the sales associate. Because clearly your video is directed to the ones who will be selling your products and therefore I guess I should have READ THE DAMN CAN!
    Lesson Learned !!

      That shop owner's son was completely wrong with the 4:1 and probably should have given you a refund after that terrible experience you had (and costly). This clear always needs a reducer and catalyst, you can over reduce a bit if you want as well. It's best to check out the TDS for tips on general info, application, mixing and seeing times for each product as there is so much to learn and additional info to make your life easier. It's brilliant stuff the USC01.

    I ordered the KU152 from TCP but got sent the KU150 catalyst with the USC01 clear. I used it to spray some kandy onto bike tins before realizing I had the wrong catalyst. Am I hosed or will it be ok?

    • @goodboyringo9716
      @goodboyringo9716 6 років тому

      Jon said USCO1 could not be mixed with KU150 but we all make mistakes , you'll just have to deal with it and maybe strip it .
      I made a mistake of mixing KD 3001 with just RU311 (no KDA3000 hardner) lucky for me I just let it dry longer and had no problem. The first day I mixed it right but
      sometimes in life we Fu__ up the second day I had a small repair and forgot the KDA3000.

    Worst clear I ever used it got hard as stone and would not buff out in 2000 even. I had to reclear 2 cars in ppg 2021 just to get it to buff out. Cost me thousands of dollars in shop hours to correct my jobs. Don’t use this stuff if you value your finish and time.
    I made a big mistake using this stuff wish I never changed products.

    • @megaman4201
      @megaman4201 3 роки тому

      Sounds like something went wrong, I've never had an issue with it... Always easy buffing, unless it's not adequately cured then can be hard to buff cuz it's still a little "rubbery", but that goes for probably any clear.

      You've clearly done something wrong on your end, no pun intended. This stuff is a show clear and is used on show cars all the time, especially in the low rider scene.
