I dont think Ive ever heard a better vocal performance in my life than when d'angelo sings how does it feel live. Overall prince and marvin are my two favorite artists in front of d'angelo, just because they were much more prolific. But this particular song, d'angelo on stage his most trusted people around him, pouring his soul out...not even do me baby or distant lover can beat that. In my humble opinion of course.
As the old saying goes; quality over quantity. Mike is an absolute monster! I had a ticket to a show of his in 2018 that unfortunately got cancelled, so that's still on my bucket list.

Ivan true, I was at the Fox for the Voodoo tour show too. They killed it. This show was more scaled down, but I still enjoyed it very much. D is a treasure. I hope he doesn't make us wait too long for more another album. Soulfeeding music is increasingly rare these days lol

@@pissnachoes That not 'the song;' that's a person rushing and off beat. I don't know if you didn't have ears in or what it was, but it was horrible during those parts. Now that I listened to again, a couple of the background singers were often noticablly flat much of the time.

Go do some research on Quest love And Chris "Daddy" Dave's drumming and also check out the voodoo album.
The drumming is not on the "one", it's around the "one", it's messy in fullest purpose.
