So just holding on for a few more years. Hoping the Rebellion Pro and maybe flash 2 help keep some of the running gojng. Not sure I could still run 15-20 mpw if not for carbon plates/forefoot rockers.
Congratulations on your 1k subscriber mark! Another great review, but I disagree that the comfort of the Flash 2 is similar to the Pro or even the Pro 2. I felt the Flash 2 was too stiff for me. Although, I would recommend it for those that cannot handle the height, and need a stable platform. It's Pro 2 for me all the way. I'll continue to use my New Balance SC trainer (v1) for daily work and Pro 2 for long runs, and speed work. Yes I tried the first version when it was released last year. Too aggressive for me. One mile and my calves were on fire. Too much of a continual forced forward lean. @@i.p2088
I've been running in my new Pro 2 lately but, so far, it isn't working as well as I'd expected. I think I'm landing too far in the rear of the shoe. I know I'm not at the level of fitness I was when I first got my hands on the Pro 1 and got a Half Marathon PB but still I thought I'd get along better with the Pro 2. Hopefully, I'll find that sweet spot on landing and things will change because I really loved the original Pro.
I think the sweet spot is easier to find on the Pro1. Hopefully the Pro 2 starts working for you soon...it is certainly different compared to the original.
Hey, thanks for the great review. You mentioned a while ago that the Pro 2 is more aggressive than the Pro 1, but at the same time, the Pro 2 is better for a full marathon. I'm a bit confused because usually aggressive shoes are better for shorter distances, and I prefer less aggressive shoes for a long distance. Can you explain this a little bit? Thank you!
The pitch in the Pro 2 is really aggressive meaning the lean forward whilst standing in the shoe. Once you run in it the forefoot feels like it has a flat spot to control the leg turnover. In the Pro 1 there isn't such an aggressive lean forward but the rocker feels really rounded from the midfoot and encourages me to keep going faster as I roll off the rocker hence why I think the Pro 1 is better suited to shorter stuff for me. Does that explain it better?
You could be right but I can't tell as I sized up in the Pro1 so for me the Pro 1 fits me better. The length in the flash 2 is fine, but the width may bother wide feet.
Is it too strange to handle Flash 2 for a long run at average speed, I wonder ? Because I could do that with my Asics Magic Speed 3, where I ended up doing some heel strikes when running, not too fastz but I could handle them, tamed the beast. I had the original Rebellion that was the same shoes of the Flash 1, and they were very stiff middlesole, but I could run at any speed I wanted with them. Even do some walking after a run. I'm just looking for a good plated trainer shoes that does not feels like a racer plated shoes that are almost impossible to use with safety, in low speeds and on a daily basis. Thanks.
Got the Flash. I am disappointed and sending them back. It's like Novablast 3 which I hated and Superblast which I love. First fit.. They are long and narrow. I tried to run in the house but the midfoot feel narrow and I was pronating.. I don't pronate in a Mizuno wave Rebellion Pro V1 despite the cutout. The weight is 262 gr in size 43. So like the Boston 12. Bottom part of the midsole feels like EVA. Day and night difference from the Mizuno Wave Rebellion Pro V1.. Question - in the Wave Rebellion Pro V2 is the midfoot narrower than in V1 ❓
I'm sorry to hear they don't work for you. Do you think your normal size would have fitted better or been too small? To answer your questions both look the same to me in the midfoot.
@@run-are Yes I definitely should have gone TTS. I went half up like the Pro V1. The Flash V2 was not only long but baggy loose upper above the toes...also felt bottom heavy. I think the bottom layer of the midsole is an energy killer.
Will definitely be trying the Flash 2 when it gets discounted. Very happy with the latest Mizuno releases in the Rebellion series.

I don't think the Flash 2 is the safest option for what you are after. Check out the Saucony endorphin speed or Adidas Boston 12

That bottom EVA part is really soft and has some good bounce to it for me. Might be affected by the conditions I am thinking. Middle of Summer here
