Tokini Andy is the reason why I was able to finish genki I and II, and be able to actually talk and read a lot in japanese in 6 months from zero. I can't be more grateful
Gotta love Andy!
Andy is a great teacher! been watching his lesson streams every week for so long now that I've lost count. Great guy (and Yuki). Great community.

I meant Andy and myself know of each other’s existence through covering Japanese books. :)

Your channel is literally my comfort place. You make me so happy. Love you❤
Hey Sakura! Wow thank you so much for your kind words. Right from the beginning, we wanted to create a place where anyone can come and feel happy. So to see your comment really just means so much to us personally and motivates us to keep bringing more content. Once again, thank you so much.
This is the language learning podcast I’ve been looking for T^T
Thank you guys for doing what you do 🤝
That means a lot to us! Thanks Not Numbers!
Wow. Was not expecting the Bill cameo.
We weren't either
This is such a chill conversation. ToKini's story is pretty motivating, especially how he just jumped right in with no worries about speaking early.
Shoutout Andy! Super chill guy to talk to and like you mentioned super motivating!
Based Tokini enjoyers

Andy keeping it real about not being able to study for hours on end is what the people need
ToKini Andy always keeping it real!
What a cool guest! Nice interview, guys!✌️
Thanks Teruhiiko! ToKiniAndy is a super cool guy for sure
Really insightful discussion of dating and language learning. Might be worth publishing that clip as a separate video because it's real talk that a lot of people would relate to or be interested in.
Say less! KoreKara Clips got you covered: ua-cam.com/video/4trJ4m0_xx4/v-deo.html

We still need to find him for the in person video interview #FindBill
Andy is my hero
Embrace the Anki grind.
😤😤
No joke every time I watch one of these I get inspired to start studding. Even though I'm supposed to be taking a break x3
That means a lot to us! You inspire us to keep making more videos. Don't push yourself too hard though!
Would you say Quizlet is like Anki? I personally used Quizlet for studying German for years in school. So I am used to it and was wondering if they were pretty similar : )
Im not even learning japanese but this shit is like therapy, I should be doing Spanish immersion rn but this is like a warm blanket over my body god bless, the way you guys laugh together is so funny SO GOOD gawd damn
Ive watched like prob over half of the videos that have been posted LOL
Andy!!!!!
Igirisu!!!!!
That's pretty interesting about spouses with different languages. I'm a Taiwanese-American, and my wife is Chinese. I actually speak Mandarin in the home and my wife, after spending almost 15 years here now speaks pretty fluent everyday American-English. Her slang is actually better than her formal American because our workplace tends to have younger people. I grew up speaking a little bit of Mandarin in the house, but my language skills didn't really improve until 1. I took simplified Chinese in college for two years, and 2. marrying my wife. My Chinese is actually way better than from when I was a little kid growing up.
I identified with Andy so much when he said he burns out easily. I wish I didn't burn out so easily but for some reason I either bore easily or I have a high need for novelty.
Great interview!! Andy seems like such a good dude.
You guys should consider inviting Matt from Game Gengo! He’s doing some really great work.
Thanks Kisuto! Matt from Game Gengo seems like a super cool guy to talk to. Appreciate the recommendation!
@@KoreKaraPodcast Second vote for Matt!
Tokini Andy sounds like a down to earth kinda guy. Another great one, guys.
Appreciate it Clowdy!
I fully recommend Tokini Andy's courses. I think he's an excellent teacher, and if you are using Genki you'll get as lot more value out of it. I don't know if Genki would be that useful to me without his course because of my attention span.
Shoutout Andy!
Today we have inmersion with korekara podcast time , thank you so much for the good content
Thank you so much for watching!
@@KoreKaraPodcast thank you to you guys, this was even funnier than i expected
I am starting my first Japanese language course on my own and I don't know where to begin

I got burnt out on anki and going back to it gives me anxiety, so I have been messing with Wanikani for a couple months now and it’s making me start to fall in love with SRS again. I know I’d benefit a lot going back to anki but I really need to change how I go about making cards. What I have in mind is only making cards for words that I have already 90 percent acquired. Which, a lot of people will say yeah duh that’s what you’re supposed to do but for me at least I think that involves reading the same manga volume a couple times through till the words start to stick. Because before I’d see a word I didn’t know, look up the definition, throw it into anki not really having learned it then just repeatedly tried to cram words I really didn’t aquire yet into my head.
You could try making vocabulary cards instead of sentence cards, they're a lot easier to rep
@@KoreKaraPodcast I’ll try that out! I think another thing I’ll try is to not be so strict with having only kanji on the front of the card. Because I would hear a word, not be familiar with the kanji, and throw it on anki and basically try to brute force information into my head that way for half an hour to an hour. Some people can do that. I cannot. So I either need to find a way to phase in the kanji over time, or rely on the fact that Wanikani will eventually get me there with the kanji and outside of that I just need to learn words.
One month of no English, even to speakers of English, only Japanese? That isn't immersion that is submersion!
You lnow i want to join all these patrions, but if i were paying for every one of my fav peoples patrion id be broke af... not sure where ill get the best bang for my buck
I enjoyed the episode, but unfortuntly it did not deliver the promise! You guys did not talk about the effectiveness of Genki.
We can do better
@@KoreKaraPodcast I believe you. All the best ❤️
I have a Japanese wife, and I live in Japan. My Japanese sucks. So, a Japanese gf or bf does not help, unless they can't speak your native and/or has no interest in your language. So ,it is not a silver bullet. lol
Thanks for the insight Tyson!
@@KoreKaraPodcast It also doesn't help that I suffer from the 恥ずかしいs whenever I try to sperak to anyone outside of my circle.
Still frightens my that somebody is able to speak fluently after 1-2 years. I'm learning for a year, and i'm not even near speaking anything meaningful. even after learning each day 1-2 hours.
I have a Japanese wife, and I still don't speak a word of Japanese.
why not?
