Risky shell was noticeably less crispy by the time I served it, so while it would still taste delicious you have little to no crisp left after a while. Maybe if you put the shredded cheese next to the crispy shell to buffer the moisture wicking in. Sour cream next to it is full of water. I learned from a pizza shop that to keep a crust from becoming soggy too quick to put a layer of cheese down then put the sauce over that. End result was still saucy without being soggy.
Do you mean a different recipes for soft tortillas or the one in this vid? The one in this vid is fried crispy and would not fold. Its not gonna be suitable for the outer wrap. Perhaps if you had a soft tortilla recipe you could make your own larger flour tortilla.
Your videos are very well done. I have a question. You use a lot of avocado oil when frying the tostada. Do you save that oil for future use? Avocado oil is pretty expensive. Also, could you bake these instead of frying? Thank you!
I used a small 6 inch pan and only about a half inch of oil and they were completely submerged until they bubbled up. I just kept flipping them with tongs till they were evenly brown. Leaving it till it was fully cooked on each side over browned the bubbly areas. I kept the heat low and still had a good amount of the oil left.
I was looking at your site, is the entire crunch wrap 37 carbs or 8 net carbs. I saw it said 8 servings in one crunchwrap which would still be a lot of carbs if you eat the entire thing.
THe protein powder is what helps give it the crisp texture. Otherwise it will be sorta cracker like instead of crisp. Maybe you could find a sample size if unflavored protein powder at a health food or gym where they sell body builder drink mixes. That way you could spend just a few bucks to see the difference it makes. Make a small batch half with and half without. You might be satisfied without but authentic crisp is the goal not just something to hold the fillings.
LaBanderita 10 inch flour tortillas. I tried to do this with the largest flour tortillas I could find locally and it was a challenge to get it to erap around andnot unfold. It was a mess, but two non-lowcarbers loved the outcome anyway. I ended up having to crack my crispy shell into quarters and making it mini. After going back to the website I finally noticed that the text was a link to the Amazon page with the description and the size. Anyway, I probably won't make this very often despite how good it was. It was a lot of effort for a meal. I do however forsee making the crisp shells again because they remind me of the fried flour shell used for Mexican Pizza. I just had a tostado with the last shell and it was great.
I will most definitely be making these!!! Thank you. I don’t know how you manage all you do but we appreciate your recipes. I’m glad you can spend more time with your kids now. They grow up so fast.

About the large tortilla, you described it as , 'low carb'. How should we know when it is low carb and when it is not ? Because the all the store bought ones are made up of normal wheat flour or rice flour and both of these flours are normal carbs, not low carb.

Nice vid! I can't afford ribeye often, so what % of fat should I ask the butcher to blend into my ground beef, to get it close to the nutritional values of ribeye? Thx!

There are brands listed in the website post for the recipe. For a cleaner version, there is untortilla but they are smaller so you would need to make smaller crunchwraps
So funny! Just two days ago, I was watching a guy with a regular cooking channel who did one of the “Cook it faster, make it better” videos about the Taco Bell Crunchwrap. Looked delish and my first thought was that I could totally do it with your tortillas! And then here you are! You are such a big help to those eating keto. You are very much appreciated! 🎃
You can easily make one. Just make the same taco meat shown here. Then add in diced onion. If you’re low carb, you could add in a few beans as the original did, but if you’re keto you’ll need to skip them. Then make the tortillas, lay them flat and put some meat mixture and a bit of shredded cheese and a drizzle of enchilada sauce down the middle and roll them up. Put them in a flat baking dish, spoon more enchilada sauce over the top, sprinkle with cheese and toss in the oven or toaster over or air fryer till the cheese is melty and everything is hot.
Unbun has tortillas which are pretty good after toasting. I was able to find them at my local Sprouts. I also like Siete Almond Flour Tortillas which are more accessible in stores but they are kinda high in carbs because they are more Paleo and they use yuca flour. They taste great though! Lol

There’s a lot of ingredients that are not good for one’s health. Granular cheese (milk, cheese culture, salt, enzymes), *Whey, sunflower oil, whey protein concentrate,* lactose, *maltodextrin,* salt, blue cheese (milk, cheese culture, salt enzymes), sodium phosphate, contains less than 2% of citric acid, lactic acid, *yellow 5, yellow 6.* Contains Milk Ingredients & is packaged in a facility shared by treenuts, peanuts, dairy, soy, and wheat products
People can buy powdered cheddar cheese but then it probably won't taste like dormitory. Other than Maltodextrin , sunflower seed oil,and the dyes, those ingredients are common in dairy products

2 things: Stop this nonsense that a keto version taste BETTER than the original. We all know it's a lie unless you're insanely easy to deceive yourself. Let's be honest and call it what it is, which is just a healthy (ie, not as tasty) alternative to the original. Next, why must every channel show a close up of them eating their food. It's grotesque. We don't need to hear you try to capture a crunch or hear you "mmmm" at your own food. These are completely unnecessary to a successful channel.
I'm sorry that you struggle to make good tasting food on keto. Perhaps if you tried cooking some of Annie's recipes instead of always looking for negative things to say about her and channel, you could change that.
