  • Young Anglican is just a hobby for a theology nerd. I do all of this in my spare time and don't have any relevant degrees in theology or philosophy, but hope that nonetheless my thoughts and knowledge still have a kind of value.

I thought this was very interesting. I myself am ethnically Jewish, but I am not a Messianic Jew in the denominational sense. I’m a Reformed Baptist.
    Excellent video as always, sir!

Great exegesis. I would like to get your thoughts on Matthew 5:17-21 and what that means for Jewish and Gentile believers.

Its a perfect example of how Jesus preaches the enternality of the Law even unto our age. The language he uses of fulfilling the law points ultimately to his atonement as I mention in the video. For example, Circumcision is fulfilled at the cross (a piercing sacrifice of our bodies to set us apart for covenant relationship with God) and that through partaking in Christ the law is fulfilled in us as it was in him.

@@Young_Anglican what about verse 19? “Therefore whoever relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever does them and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.”
      ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5‬:‭19‬ ‭ESV‬‬

@@nicholaskeathley5887 Yeah this is why St. Paul does not teach that the law is reversed or revoked in any way. Every bit of the law (and the spirit beneath the law) is extended only greater in Christ. Think about how Jesus applies the law when his disciples break the sabbath in Mark 2:27. He calls people not to relax the law (as the Sadducees would have been doing at the time) but instead to expand it by true understanding seeing how it is fulfilled in him. He even hints at how his atonement will "accomplish" the law in Matthew 5:18. If the law really was about an eternal rulebook where the rules themselves are the ends rather than the means, how could he speak of it being fulfilled, or accomplished at a certain time?

New subscriber. I respect you a lot already. I’m a gentile who practices messianic Judaism, I grew up knowing next to nothing about Judaism or messianic synagogue, i was raised in non dom low church. Zero tradition, little understanding about what the tanack has to do with the Good news. I took HaySod FFOZ course. Started listening to Rabbi Jason Sobel, Michael Dr brown. Rabbi Schnider and so so so so so many more and felt called to Sojourn with the messianic Jews. If the lord hasn’t lead me to messianic synagogue I probably would have ended up in Anglicanism. Now that I am settled in my new lifestyle and I am Right with The God almighty I love to continue to stay educated on other traditions and other branches of Christianity. I watch Redeemed Zoomer a lot. The biggest thing I disagree with in Christianity is Replacement Theology. I also get annoyed when people mix up messianic Judaism with “Hebrew roots movement”. I think a lot of Christians do not care about Jews or Israel etc etc. thank you, I’m a happy new subscriber. Am Yisreal Chai.

Curious who do you think is the Israel that Paul talks about?

Want to preface this with a prayer that we focus on the things of first importance, and on unity in the faith. May God bless you and encourage you. Apologies in advance if it seems like I'm "picking apart" your comment, ultimately we should be unified in our belief in Christ.
You said "I'm a gentile who practices messianic Judaism." I'm curious how that squares with Galatians 3:28-29:
"There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise."
Isn't it enough to just say you're a Christian? Why draw a distinction between Messianic Jews and Messianic Gentiles where Paul did not draw a distinction?

There's only one Church, one body of Christ...and its not Anglican. And, the specific meaning of Catholic is ...Jews first and also the Gentiles....see Acts 15.😮

What do you mean when you say support Israel? We should absolutely share the gospel with them so that they may receive mercy as a result of God's mercy on us (Romans 11:31).
