I bought the subcompact for it's size as I do auto mechanics. I am not going to lie. It fits everywhere, it has enough power and speed. A month of abuse and it is now my favourite tool.
I recently picked up the Rigid subcompact kit. I love the impact driver. Is it the most powerful tool? No, but it gets the job done and it's easier to carry and fits into places a larger, more powerful, tool will not. It's a solid add to my arsenal.
The sub-compact is just too small for my hand. I had a chance to pick it up Saturday but, I can only get three fingers around the handle on else my index finger is wrapped around the top. I will likely get it for my wife though. She is small so it should work well for her.
Very creative wonder how you spliced the video together were your going head to head against yourself and make it look seamless amazing job on the editing Clint Brother keep up the great amazing work
I have to say that was one of the first things that crossed my mind I'm glad the channel is growing once people get to see who you really are I know that you're one heck of a great guy and you're also an amazing father to your son just keep being yourself and you'll have 150000 subscribers
@@ToolReviewZone that's what friends do for each other they help each other out you're always there when I have a question and you help me so it's only the right thing to do and the respect that I have to help you I'm just glad to hear the information was good
For cabinets I'll use the sub-compact. For landscaping ties, use the 1/2" Impact gun, you'll never go back to an Octane after using the Big Boy. Cheers from Canada, and keep up the good videos!
I was hoping for something new on the batteries, but now I see they took the octane out to make it more compact. Makes sense: more electronics = less compact. Something to keep in mind when purchasing these. Can’t let them entice you with a battery deal when you’re not getting an octane. Hope they come up with better combo deals when all the new stuff hits the shelves!
I wonder how the Rigid 12v Impact stacks up to these two?Are they still making those? Just wondering, maybe the Depot wants to push the Milwaukee 12v stuff instead?
I'm happy asf with my sub compacts. 😁 big difference from my stealth force and octane. Drill is great too, don't have to pull out the huge hammer drill every time now.
Awesome review. It's a nice tool. It's perfect for a homeowner who doesn't really need something as powerful. Also great for interior work like drywall.
Yeah I agree. I usually keep my mic on the other side of the computer but had to put it on the same side today. I also try to add a soft music to help blend it out, but definitely hear it in this vid
Nice comparison! I'm really interested in what the Subcompact can do. Would be cool to see it up against the Bosch GDR18V-1800CN if you still have it haha. Cant wait for you to hit 100k 🤘 Loved the little ballad 😝
I have just about rigid everything except impact and drill, I already had Dewalt XR which was before the this sub compact came out.. and the biggest thing for me was lightweight and how it felt in my hand which is what I think Rigid is trying to address and it makes sense.
Tool Review Zone thanks so much. My primary goal was to use them for my gen5x drill and impact but didn’t know if they performed much worse than the 2.0ah
I would like to see this same test, but include the Gen5X! Sell me on these new ones, give me a reason to exchange it out, make me wanna spend more money and upgrade
Yo TRZ! You comparing the size of the impact head to your hand is a bit deceptive. You need to tell people that your hands are a tad larger than Wilt Chamberlain's.

The octane impact is garbage. Like the brushless gen5x better! Thx for the vid! I ran a test on the new compact charger. It's garbage too. ua-cam.com/video/u50zBvLRxhU/v-deo.html
Please smeesh that like button and share this video to help get us to 100K subs!

Will be awesome brother 👊
I would like to see Ridgid sub-compact vs Makita sub-compact drill & impact.
I bought the subcompact for it's size as I do auto mechanics. I am not going to lie. It fits everywhere, it has enough power and speed. A month of abuse and it is now my favourite tool.
I like the BIG Base !! Makes it easier to stand up and not tip over
Yeah me too Rodney, I agree

Haha, those are some big hands💪
Ok Sasquatch 🐻😅
Loved the little ballad
If they had put in speed modes on the subcompact that would be my new go to. Missed opportunity if you ask me.

Thanks Antonio! Send me a DM on Instagram and I'll let you know💪
What about testing the subcompact with the new Max output batteries versus the octane with the octane battery
You climbing up there with subscribers. Awesome channel and content. Good luck on a speedy 100k🍀🙏👍
Thanks Brother John👊

I kinda knew the subcompact was going to lose to the octane your channel rocks look forward to whats. Next
Yeah buddy, wasn't thinking it would, but I aslo did not think it would drive the lags without pilot holes either, so I was pleasantly surprised
Can you do a video on some older ridgid wet dry vacs 2010 or older
I'll see what I can do sean
The video we’ve all been waiting for!
Hope it helps bro!
5:00 - Major change in his UA-cam channels for those who want the news first and the test later.

Yeah absolutely bro. Batteries are just a hair smaller than the regular and OCTANE batteries, but not by much
Very cool Announcement Clint Brother
Haha, tha ks brother
Hoping for a 12v version someday although I dont see it happening because milwaukee already has one.
3:33 & 6:10... LOVING the *TWIN DUDE FX* shot ...well done sir 😎👍💯🌟🌟

Is it AEG and Ridgid similar tools or same manufacturer?
Yes
Hahaha love the song, I did notice you have some sweet guitars! and that voice!!!!
Hahahaha, thanks C B!!!

Haven't heard anything on it rhino, but I'll keep my ear to the ground 👊

Another great video bud!
Thanks Craig!!!!!!👊👊👊👊👊👊
That sub probably as powerful as Milwaukee m12...
I'm going to put them up against the Makita, then try the Milwaukee
Can you do Milwaukee M12 fuel vs The sub compact
I say with the growing that I have been seeing since the start of the year. 100k before the end of the year!
Fingers crossed brother!!!!!

Absolutely bro
Hey man big fan of ridgid and TRZ great video keep it up 💯
Thanks JFlyy!!!
I subscribed because you sound like Axle Rose !!! Please keep up the awesome "singing" !!! Lol
Hahahaha
Nice video, but that mouse clicking that coincides with the pause in voice-over, is kinda difficult to ignore once you hear it. Still, nice video.

Any idea if the RIDGID 1.5ah batteries that are on sale at HD for $25 each are any good?
They are good but don't run very long. Perfect for drill and impacts, but nut much else
Tool Review Zone thanks so much. My primary goal was to use them for my gen5x drill and impact but didn’t know if they performed much worse than the 2.0ah
Yo TRZ! Cant watch now but will later. Just want to say hi, so HI!!
What's up AMOS!!!
Interesting comparison, thanks 🙏
still using my old bulky stealth driver .. lol
Ridgid seems like very good power tools
I would like to see this same test, but include the Gen5X! Sell me on these new ones, give me a reason to exchange it out, make me wanna spend more money and upgrade
Regarding the size. It doesn't matter. I prefer the more power tools
It look ok but no speed control only by treeger so no choice
Yeah, I can understand that Juan
I'd like to see a Sub Compact Octane ;)
Hahah lol cool song dude any way i dont judge you😁
Haha, don't judge me!

Subcompact from ridgid sucks should of been a 12 volt
No interest in these. Extremely weak, still bulky with the battery. I'll stick to my M12 line for sub compact.

Hey Tool Talk. I just watched your video and enjoyed it. It seemed to me that you liked the impact? I will agree on the charger though.
