  • OK, so we got the car started in the last episode, but there is a lot to yet do, in this episode we pretty much finish up all the mechanical side. We refurbish the exhaust, plumb in the vac lines, and also the Oil catch can with breather. There are also some little things that i may have missed here.

    Your little brackets are great!

    The bit that makes no sense when I am talking about my exhaust was meant to say, its a shame I didn't do a DB test before stuffing it. I rendered the video twice and it left that bit out???

    Catch can 10:00 goes 10mm into vented catch can back out into 14mm back to the engine on the other side. With this setup should you vent or you plug the throttle body if you are turbocharging the 1zz? Also do that mean you no longer need the pcv lines on the air intake? And what does the wastegate and bov pcv pipes connect to?

    • @ModorFix

      Use the pcv vac or evap vac lines for BOV/wastegate. And yes plug the throttle body. I am pretty sure it's all in the video?

      @@ModorFix just double checking because a lot of turbo installs say to vent it to atmosphere so I get confused

      @@zokusharuuku1091 you can vent to atmosphere if you don't mind the stink. Done it on the 300zx.

    Woah this is so confusing, I seriously don’t understand all these vent pipes. I’m just trying to turbo my mr2 lol. I’ve got a catch can, I sorta understand how you installed that but I don’t know what the bov or wastegate needs to be hooked up to. Also a lot of people say to vent that pipe by the throttle body to atmosphere. And also what do you do with the pipe on the air intake?

      You really need to try and understand how it all works. But in a nutshell, the MAF is the most important thing to consider here. If the maf sits pre turbo then you need to recirculate the BOV so air is measured correctly. If the maf sits post turbo then it doesn't matter. And yes position the bov closest to the throttle butterfly as poss.

      Thats the breather for the fuel tank. For now its left but I have some one way breather valves on their way over from China which will be fitted.

    Hi do i need aftermarket computer on 8 psi ?

    • @ModorFix
      @ModorFix  3 роки тому +1

      I would say yes. You could probably get away with 1 or 2 psi on stock management, but at 8psi the car would undoubtedly run lean. If you have an AFR gauge fitted, which you really should, see how the car runs and take it from there. You don't have to spend the earth on an ecu. Have a look at an emanage blue or there is an ecu masters det3 which is deemed better and more modern, easier to map too. I dont have personal experience of the det3, but had a look online and it looks like a good bit of kit. I think the key thing is to find a good mapper and work backwards based on their recommendations

      And a question about the vacuum manifold.. where is the supply line from?

    • @ModorFix
      @ModorFix  3 роки тому +1

      @@100stamina there are 2 supplies one from the throttle body and one from the manifold itself. I think I showed that in my video. I used the thicker one from the manifold.
