Keyframes actually go back to hand drawn animation like the early Disney movies. The lead artist would draw the main frames, key frames, then lower level artists called in-betweeners would fill in the frames between the keys. In this case you are the lead artist and the software fills in the rest.

Every time I invert the mask my text disappears instead of appearing behind the person. Somebody have a solution? I'm losing my mind over this.

I created a mask around some buildings but my text still shows above them even when I invert it!
jumping from pr to your face time to time makes me dizzy and uncomfortable.
Those new to the masking, pls I advice you to start using AE

It's the placement of your keyframes. If they're far from each other, the reveal will be slower
