She put tampons and binkys in all of their work mail boxes and told them to stop their whining they all had a laugh and stopped their whining. I understand it depends on the person who gets offended, but Sticks and Stones needs to be brought back to this society.
It's not a majority or even a minority that is offended. It is an very very very small minority of extremely loud people that are offended. The overwhelming majority of us understand it was a joke and harmless one at that. The large majority of us thought it was funny. The whole Tiger and JT joke thing had been completely blown out of all proportion. It was banter and a joke between two friends. It's not PC, but in my opinion, most ordinary people are not anyway. Tiger apologised, which is more than I would have done. Even my wife thought it was funny. The world we live in now is crazy.
It's not about whether or not you are offended by the action, you rightly state that you aren't the victim of this. But it's hugely dissappointing that THE biggest name in the sport, thought it was okay to actually plan a prank that mocked the driving performance of JT because he deemed it reminiscent of a female. If he outdrives his daugther, or a female player would he do the same? For generations, menstrual cycles have been a source of shame and discrimination for women, especially in sport, and to think this would go unnoticed during a PGA event is extremely naive, and says a lot about his respect for women.. although we already had clues around that..
I feel the tiger prank is getting blown out of proportion by the media and on social media but i just can't understand what was going on in his head. Like he must have planned that well ahead (assuming he's not usually playing golf with tampons in his pocket) and he knows cameras will be on him all the time and everyone knows how emotional those things get discussed these days. Especially considering the past media coverage of his private life i feel it was just incredibly stupid and naive.

It’s exactly what makes the game fun and people want to see the real players, not the facade. That’s who Tiger is, and us weekend warriors love to see it! You can be sure this prank will be copied by many weekend warriors this year. I’ve heard many in-kind comments when someone fails to get a putt to the hole. It may not have been Tiger’s goal to boost his brand, but for most weekend warriors, that’s exactly what he did.

Good podcast again. On the Tiger thing. I love Tiger so I will start with that. I had zero issue and was in absolutely no way offended by his prank. Do I think he should have done it on national tv no but me personally zero issue. My normal foursome have said some crazy stuff on the course regarding someone’s masculinity so I would be a fake if I said it did bother me. Now I can’t speak for how a woman would feel about this. Impossible to do so I won’t even try. The one thing that bothers me the most and Guy kinda said something about it was that there was intent to offend women in his prank. I guarantee and I have never met Tiger but I guarantee there was zero of that in his intent. I saw men and women posting on Twitter that they are concerned about Tiger Woods being violent towards women because of this. That goes way too far. Be offended but come on don’t jump to that extreme.
I am female and in my sixties so I grew up in a different era. I'm short and I've worked with men and I love the banter. I'm more offended by the spitting than a joke between friends which wasn't supposed to be seen.

I'd probably (No, not really) part with my Nike blades, but they are probably a bit difficult to hit for a 20 handicap. I just switched to the titleist blades... took hitting them to pry the Mizuno's out of my hands...
Yes, the videos the pros are doing with UA-camrs really has done a great job of humanizing the player. Fowler is a perfect example. I never cared for him but getting to hear him and see him interact with you was great for his image in my opinion. Certainly makes me pull for him now when I see him playing.
I just got back into golf June 2022. I was a junior golfer for a summer when I was twelve and golfed on and off with my father until I was twenty-six but never really got into following golf on TV. Since June 2022 I’ve been an avid golfer and started to watch on TV. The problem with the PGA is they have lots of golf on TV but not all the prime players are entering every tournament so for me, I never built up an invested interest in the players. I watched a few LIV Golf tournaments early in the year 2022 and by the second tournament I was already familiar with the players and teams. So, I looked forward to the next tournament to see how the teams and players would place and it kept building from there. Their format, for me, is far better than PGA and I look forward to 2023.
As far as Full Swing, my wife only acknowledges the Tiger Woods, Rickie Fowler, Rory McIlroy because those are the guys I watch in depth. But she is a big Tony Finau fan after his story she also likes Theegala after watching it. She just loved seeing the stories like you 2 mentioned. It would be great to see a season 2 for the PGA Tour.
Full Swing - Hard Knocks, Drive to Survive, Break Point ... did any of those shows bring in "new" viewers and fans, or did they just serve up more content to people who already enjoy that particular sport? I LOVE playing golf (active participation), like watching golf on tv (passive old school media), HATE twitter and instagram (sitting on the toilet new school media), and watched the series in one sitting (weekend binge streaming media) ... and enjoy listening to the RS podcast while driving in the car! Unless I start eating golfball shaped pasta, not sure how I could get more golf entertainment into my life!

I think you’re underestimating Full Swing 100%. My wife has random friends on Instagram that are book worms and have nothing to with golf that are watching it, posting stories about how amazing it is, saying they love Finau and may start watching golf to see him play. And I have friends who play golf and started a year or 2 ago that never watched and are now fully wanting to watch the tour. Yes those friends play, but they had no interest in watching until Full Swing. That grows viewership.

As a Scot it's so weird hearing people planning a trip here as a once in a lifetime experience! St Andrews is about a 15 minute drive from where I sit right now and at my work we deal with a lot of people coming here for a big holiday/weekend away/visit to the holy grail of the Old Course. I think we maybe just take it for granted that its right there on our doorstep!
I watched Liv golf thru its whole first season last year and PGA🤔None. Rick stated that Liv needs big names to interest him. Regardless of what you think Liv has far more bigger names than the PGA tour. Even though the names are from the past they were at one time who the general public supported and cheered on. PGA maybe has 7-10 big names who bring in viewers when they play. Liv players carry far more success in total wins when they were on the PGA tour in their prime. Just because players like Lee Westwood..Grame McDowell..Ian Poulter and so on, those were huge names in the pastime of PGA. Can’t believe you’ve just recommended run of the mill trip in Scotland. Get off the beat and track. There’s 500 courses in Scotland! Get to places like Glencruitten in Oban, get to Helensburgh, go to Dunblane, Crieff and deer Park. Everyone from the states has done the big name courses, and miss out all the real hidden gems
For me with the whole tampongate, it’s a joke between 2 pals, it shows that even though they are superstars in the sport regardless of where they are and what they’re doing it’s two pals having a bit of harmless banter, I feel everyone has taken this a little too far as with the majority of things these days, making something out of nothing for a few headlines. (Only my opinion)

I recently got rid of a set of M4s that I bought last summer because they were too chunky (top line). Ended up going with a set of Inesis 500 irons from Decathlon and I absolutely love them!

I think you’re underestimating Full Swing 100%. My wife has random friends on Instagram that are book worms and have nothing to with golf that are watching it, posting stories about how amazing it is, saying they love Finau and may start watching golf to see him play. And I have friends who play golf and started a year or 2 ago that never watched and are now fully wanting to watch the tour. Yes those friends play, but they had no interest in watching until Full Swing. That grows viewership.

Tigers joke was bloke humour and done in such a way it was meant to be private. Had it been put in the bag, it would have stayed that way. I can see some would be offended but between them it was funny.

I usually click on skip add as soon as possible for in video adds but I watched it thru to end because you mentioned it. Team aspect doesn’t do it for me and ad didn’t change my mind. One thing that's come across with LIV watching the Netflix series is that some have gone to LIV for one reason. To guarantee an income for their families and that should be applauded

The only reason the joke got any attention at all because it was Tiger Woods. If it was between two regular guys on the course, nothing would have been said. Because it was Tiger, it sells news, headlines and papers.
Great opinion and also have to agree. It was bad taste personally. It’s not about having a joke or everyone gets offended too easily these days it’s the sign of the times and we have to move with them. I think this would be a very different story if was an “unliked” player ie Bryson or Phil.
Let's all be honest, if Tiger had done this same thing back in his prime, we'd all be talking about it to this day. Nobody would have been "offended"

if someones having a joke with someone else and its not directly aimed at you and your not involved, its not about you, get over it. i think some people just need to feel like everything is about them its pathetic.

As a Scot it's so weird hearing people planning a trip here as a once in a lifetime experience! St Andrews is about a 15 minute drive from where I sit right now and at my work we deal with a lot of people coming here for a big holiday/weekend away/visit to the holy grail of the Old Course. I think we maybe just take it for granted that its right there on our doorstep!

I watched Liv golf thru its whole first season last year and PGA🤔None. Rick stated that Liv needs big names to interest him. Regardless of what you think Liv has far more bigger names than the PGA tour. Even though the names are from the past they were at one time who the general public supported and cheered on. PGA maybe has 7-10 big names who bring in viewers when they play. Liv players carry far more success in total wins when they were on the PGA tour in their prime. Just because players like Lee Westwood..Grame McDowell..Ian Poulter and so on, those were huge names in the pastime of PGA.

Can’t believe you’ve just recommended run of the mill trip in Scotland. Get off the beat and track. There’s 500 courses in Scotland! Get to places like Glencruitten in Oban, get to Helensburgh, go to Dunblane, Crieff and deer Park. Everyone from the states has done the big name courses, and miss out all the real hidden gems
I thought Tiger's joke was freaking hilarious plain and simple.
For me with the whole tampongate, it’s a joke between 2 pals, it shows that even though they are superstars in the sport regardless of where they are and what they’re doing it’s two pals having a bit of harmless banter, I feel everyone has taken this a little too far as with the majority of things these days, making something out of nothing for a few headlines. (Only my opinion)
Rick, can you gift us a video of your club collection. Over the years, im sure you've got one of the best collections. You could do a club museum at this point.
Enjoyed the show fellas good laughs and insight. Just purchased tixs to the LIV Tour tournament in Orlando, FL. Excited to go check it out and see how those players perform. I've been to quite a few PGA Tour tournaments so this should be a good comparison.
