Sorry guys! To answer some important questions you have been asking that I didn't mention in the video 🤦: 1. It's the 44mm version, no LTE (I mentioned this in my last video on the watch but forgot to reiterate it here) 2. Always on display was disabled. 3. Heart rate tracking is set to auto so it checks regularly for it throughout the day. Hope that helps a bit!
Thanks for the update! Can you do another test with the always on display turned on? Doesnt have to be another video, could be just a response, but that is one of my main concerns. Coming from Wear OS, where i use the always on display, I would like to know how they compare. Thanks in advance!
I have a question. I want to get a smart watch but i don't know what should i buy. I want galaxy watch or galaxy watch active 2, 44m version. My wrist is pretty small, and i like the active 2, but idk what to say because galaxy watch has a bigger battery. Pls help!
Excellent test. I prefer the rotating bezel on my Galaxy Watch, but my wife got her rose gold 44mm version Active Watch 2 to replace Gear Sport (no phone call function) and absolutely loves it, particularly as she no longer has to rummage through her Aladdins cave of a bag to find her phone when it rings! It's a very good watch.
I also did it and bought myself the note 10+ with the GWA2 and i love it The only thing thats doesnt word like i want it is the spotify app on the watch Is allways tells me that where is no bt connection soo yeaaah... but thats just a little minus point So far so good, i love the combo✌🏼
Excellent video and very informative. I actually purchased the 46mm Samsung Galaxy Watch a few weeks ago and absolutely love it. I easily get 5 days out of it on a single charge with (AOD) always on display set to off. With (AOD) on I got 3 day's out of it with 16% battery still left. In my humble opinion if you are in the market for a smartwatch Samsung is definitely the way to go.
I don't usually comment but been extremely interested in this watch because i have used galaxy watch, active but non 4g. You have shown me my most questioned answers. Spotify with watch on 4g, battery and sleep and charge after sleep. Amazing.
Yes, please if possible. I have to decide between these two devices. Personally, I love this Samsung Active 2 smartwatch even if I don't like much Samsung as a company. The only doubt I have is it's full compatibility with NON Samsung smartphones. This is where Fossil Gen 5 with Wear OS by Google should be more compatible. So, a review of this lovely Active 2 and Fossil Gen 5 paired with a NON Samsung (i.e.: Huawei, Xiaomi or elsewhere) would help a lot. Many thanks...
The fossil gen 5 is miles better. There are 1000s of apps you can download and makes it miles more useful than the samsung watch. Their app store is crap. The fossil is a step up from a smart watch as it's a semi computer on your wrist. It's far more versatile. Bixby on samsung is plan crap. The lack of apps limit the Samsung watch. I have read the GPS on the samsung is still poor. I had the last galaxy watch with rotating bezel and GPS was crap, slow and laggy and at times the gps failed to connect. Hr tracking was poor and if he went to high would fail to record.
Why smartwatches are depleting very fast? I still remember forgot to bring my galaxy classic charger, when working at the border for 3 days (although its fully charged by the time i leave for work). Had it sync all the time with my phone, so i dont have to pull out my phone everytime theres a notification or messages receive. By the third day went home and still has 30% batt.
Good video Sir. I haven’t purchased one yet. This work with iPhone? I’m guessing not. Also you see how proud your Dad was of you while your were filming? Priceless!!
Great review. One question-is the watch scratch magnet since its body is made of aluminum? DX+ screen glass is very good, but I am not sure about the body.
Great video as always! That little test at the end was a cool way of ending the video. Nice playlist too! I'm currently listening to a lot Taking Back Sunday and Saves the Day, so it's cool to see I'm not alone revisiting that genre haha
I just got mines about 3 days ago. I chose the 44mm. When I first got it I didn't know anything about it. I mean; I had the galaxy gear when it first came out but this is totally different. I honestly love the watch but for me, it has a big issue and that's Bixby. It looks and feels a lot smaller than the Galaxy Watch, which is thicker but still looks great. About the "always on display" I got about 2 days battery. Of course; I didn't time it. All I know is that I left the house with a full battery, and didn't have to charge it until the next day before going to bed. I just want to give you an idea. It depends on how much you use it. There is one thing I must mention, and that's Bixby. It stinks. it's the worst assistant I have ever used. I won't say it's completely useless because sometimes it works but; we don't want something to work once in a while, we want it to work all the time, because that's what we are paying for. Honestly; I have to find a way to put Google assistant in there. Without it; is not that good to me. If it wasn't for Bixby; I would give this watch a 5 star review in a heartbeat. With Bixby, 3 1/2 stars.
@@SaborLatino21 Hey, thanks a lot for the long yet helpful answer. So, there is an always on display and I would get around 2 days of battery with that. Yes, I've heard about Brixby 😅
You should say what's it like to use the watch, how it feels, what's your emotional reaction to having it on your wrist. I think adding these aspects to this video would have made it a lot more useful to me.
I like your videos a lot, but give us more info. What model was that, what phone did you use, how was the setup of the watch, did you find it useful with any other apps, did it work for replying to messages? Does it support other music/podcast apps?
How about protection for the overly exposed screen? Ive checked out numerous vids....and NO ONE including yourself, MR. I live in Bklyn, made ANY mention of any kind of protection for the screen....
So my main problem with my last watch was that when I used the stopwatch... The battery drained really fast... So I could barely go through a soccer game before I had to charge my device. How does this one hold up?
Do you know how to install applications while not having the galaxi store not being a samsung phone? I need help because it will arrive tomorrow and I don't know what to expect.
How much of spotify did you do? Did you actually download the playlist without LTE? Does youtube music work the way spotify does?? What about the navigation? Does the watch do Google Maps? Please tell me these are my very important usecases
1) The aluminum case version is all that is available now...how is your aluminum case holding up to scratches and digs? 2) When will the stainless steel version be available? 3) What is the crystal/watch-face made of? Gorilla Glass, hopefully.
What u mean what about always on display that's statement speaks for its self the display is always on even tho this comment is 4 months ago it triggered me lol
When I delete text messages from the watch, it also deletes the texts from my phone. How can I stop it from deleting on my phone as well? Also, is it scratch resistant?
Do you know how much the battery last on a run streaming spotify only with the watch? Let’s say I run 1h30min with streaming, how much percentaje drops down?
All I can tell you is that if you lived in Williamsburg back in the 80's and 90's, it was simply another planet! Great vid btw! Looking at getting one but I REALLY need it for Blood pressure so the ECG feature needs to be enabled. Hoping it is by the time I get it.
Improvement suggestion- We don't need loud royalty free electronic music between every segment of talking. As someone who occasionally listens to videos while working, its just kind of annoying to keep hearing this pattern of talking, cue the loud generic youtuber music, talking, repeat.
Awesome review. This would be my standard use for the watch. My only question on workout detection if you select before starting does it use more battery? I have an original Ticwatch with my new galaxy S10+ so this would be a great upgrade my concern was the battery life. Was this in screen always on?
Great job. I liked the presentation very much. I am thinking seriously of buying it come black Friday hoping that it goes on sale. But if doesn't I buy it anyway. I have a slight apprehension about how complicated it might be to use.
defo a helpful vid but quick question, can you add your own music to the watch or is only through Spotify? I'd defo be interested in buying for running and not having take my phone with me
Your own music can sync to it through the Gear/Wear app although it only has a few GB of storage. You could even sync a playlist or a few at a time to save space on it
Is there a GPS option on this watch? If I have Google maps running on my phone will the watch ding me to tell me to turn right or left being connected via Bluetooth?
Awesome review as always, I'm sold on it. Now to try both to see if I prefer the 40 or 44mm. I noticed you used the alarm function on your phone. I'm guessing like most smart watches this has a buzz to wake feature in the alarm, are you just a heavy sleeper or is the buzz too weak? I prefer the buzz to wake and hope this one can do the job.
Great review man,but I'm facing big trouble connecting with Spotify I've done everything but still can stream or the only way I can use the app is if I'm connected to Bluetooth and the app has to be open on my phone 😭😭😭 help
I was hoping you could shed some light on this... I'm debating between this watch (44mm) and the Galaxy Watch (46mm) you reviewed about a year ago. For the Galaxy Watch I believe it will last longer on a charge, has a rotating bezel which keeps fingerprints off the screen a little more often, and the bezel should also protect the screen from shattering should you whack it against a door frame (been there, done that). The Active 2 is much lighter in weight, has a larger screen, faster sensors, future implementation of the electro cardio gram, and more heart sensors, but less battery life. What's your thoughts between the two? If you were in the market today for one or the other, is there something that sways you towards one over the other?
I had trouble deciding on those two as well and have gone for the active 2. Main reasons are the bigger display, lighter/slimmer design, and also the minimalistic look. Yes the normal watch looks great, but I personally prefer the active 2s look. It's more down to personal preference. Battery life lasts for 2+ days, on the active 2, it's around double in the normal watch, so go for whichever you prefer.
