- Getting compliments is nice but it also sometimes makes me feel a bit uncomfortable. I wonder why that is?! Anyway, here are my most complimented perfumes from a few strangers. And from my mum. Enjoy! 😊

I get a lot of compliments whenever I wear Burberry Her Intense
Recently, I got compliments from strangers on Dolce and Gabbana the Only One Intense and Prada La Femme Intense.

Baccarat Rouge 540 and the Extrait version is my most complemented fragrance. I will say every now and then I add just a dash of Burberry Her and have receive compliments. Like you said it’s very well known in the perfume community but the average person out on the street does not always know it. I’ve also had some compliments on my Delina rosé. Oh yes! I think it’s the most popular fragrance I’ve worn that has gotten compliments. A bank teller has been the only person who guessed what it was,& she had it in her collection as well!

I enjoy hearing that I smell good but I am with you on feeling awkward when people ask what I am wearing and it is something I know they won’t recognize. Most recently I received two compliments in one trip to the grocery store wearing Al-Rehab Zahrat Hawaii perfume oil. Both people (separately) asked what I was wearing and both were like, “uhh, yeah I won’t remember that…” or on days when I’ve layered perfumes and I have to admit I am extra to strangers… 😆

Hi..I used to always get complimets using gucci bloom edp and alien edt. And mind you...I used them up like crazy because I wanted to finish them cause I hate decluttering...but seems like they are the only ones I reaaly got compliments from complete strangers...hugs😘😙

I think your Mom was right.. the petrol boy has a crush on you! You are a beautiful, striking woman. However, the fragrance probably he liked too----and used it as a way to flirt with you!! :-) Anyway, I receive compliments on Commes des Garcons KYOTO. Every single time I wear it. Unfortunately, its longevity is poor, so I don't feel like investing money in it. Keep up your great work and commitment to the world of fragrance.

I was wearing Pure Musc by NR and a woman in the grocery store told me she followed to scent because she had to know what it was! I was tickled over that! Also my mom complimented me on BR540 and she NEVER mentions my perfume!!

It’s so funny two weeks ago I went with my husband to a small glass shop and someone there said someone smells nice. I didn’t even think it was me at first and then I realized it was. I’m still happy about it. 🤣🤣

I think BR540 is a ‘neutral’ - a great layering scent that goes with everything! For some crazy reason I layered it with Pink Sugar of all things! The compliments I got!

I most recent got compliments from some ladies on Cheirosa 62 body spray/cream and Zadig & Voltaire This is Her, and a gentleman complimented me on Galivant's Gdańsk. That one is so delectable, I had to get a bigger bottle.

I own BR540 and many other expensive fragrances, and the one to Garner compliments is my drugstore cheapie AG Cloud.
I feel like AG Cloud opens up very sweet, like cotton candy sweet (which sadly I am not a fan of), but then it turns into something really beautiful and niche/expensive. It really reminds me of BR540. In my opinion it is a a dupe for BR540. Would you agree? I would say that I even like the cheapy AG Cloud more than BR540.
Back in the 80s when there was no such thing as overspraying, I was CONSTANTLY complimented on Lagerfeld’s KL. I tend to underspray now because I’m so self conscious here in the US where it seems so many are against strong fragrances. But I have been complimented by strangers for wearing: D&G Pour Fenme Intense, Libre Intense, and Lolita Lempicka’s Elle L’aime
I don’t overspray 1: because I am sensitive to some fragrances and am considerate of other’s. I don’t want to kill anyone😂 2: In my mind, it can alter the fragrance. I’d rather spray often, if necessary.

Men's noses are more sensitive to scents. So if a guy tells you he like ur scent. Or compliment ur scent. It’s because he really likes it. Otherwise, he would mention ur looks. Then scent.🥰 They’re not going to compliment a scent they don’t like. Just because they like you. Men aren’t set up that way.

I get compliments quite often as I usually overspray and it’s difficult not to notice my scent 🙈 The most recent ones were when I was wearing Delina, Tabac Rose from BDK and Armani Code Satin.
I got a compliment last week from the construction worker outside my home. I was wearing Jessica Simpson Fancy, and it was like four or five hours after I applied it. He said, “ Your perfume smells wonderful.”☺️

In Denmark you allmost NEVER get compliments either. Exept Two times. One time I sprayed BACCARAT 540 (8 sprays😂) in the Supermarcet a woman asked: WHAT are you wearing???
And then at a ROSKILDE FESTIVAL where I wore MON GUERLAIN, and the bartender asked: Is it you smelling so good??

I feel that people compliment fragrance when it "clicks" with the person who wears it.
My most complimented fragrance is Chloe Nomade, and it really fits my personality.
I love Chloe Nomade. The woody notes in Chloe Nomade are blended just right. Chloe Nomade is gorgeous.
Yeah, I’m in Canada too, and I’ve never smelled anyone wearing Baccarat rouge here! I’ve heard that apparently Canada is not a good market for perfumes 🙄 The only perfume for which I’ve received compliments from three different people in the last six months is Alien 😉

Strangers have complimented me for Ari, Cloud, Si Intense, Eternity, Beauty, Fantasy...all the easily affordable scents (apart from Si Intense as for me $150 is expensive :D )

I just this week got a decant of br540. I finally decided I need to know why people always talk about it. It’s unusual and I like it. I’m hoping my decant lasts a long time. I could see it as a good layering scent.
It's amazing...welcome to the MFK 540 club. I assumed you had it among all the other amazing unique fragrances you own. I want to add MFK 540 extrait (red bottle) version to my collection. I hear it's the same scent but even better, more date night vibes.

Girl… the extrait BY FAR is superior to the OG.. idk what it is about bitter almond, but it’s a tad more sweeter,& complex ! Amber Oud Rouge by Al harraim is a spot on dupe to the Extrait if u want to try something a bit cheaper before a $400+ original bottle!

I wore bacarrat twice and over sprayed never received not one compliment smh... I stopped wearing it ever since... it all depends on body chemistry mines suck and eat up fragrance so bad

Off hand I remember being complemented on Radiant Nectar (it was a patient of mine and that's where I usually get compliments from) as well as Orchidee Vanille, the original version of Dior Addict and Delina. Though by far my most complimented has been Alien Essence Absolue.
How fun, getting compliments out of the blue from strangers! Once, a bunch of men went gaga over the Bracken Man by Amouage I was wearing!

I so much wanted to love Baccarat Rouge 540; but....on my skin BR540 smells like antiseptic skin cleaner, so I guess I just saved myself a couple of hundred dollars.....

I just came back from a vacation in Canada :) I wear perfume everyday as well, but never got complimented. Once somebody said ' it smells good in here' and I imagined it was me, but not sure :) I don’t get out much and I’m an undersprayer, so that might be part of it 😊

BR540 always gets me compliments in the norwegian form- head turning with a wondering glare. The one that gets me actual compliments, is Delina. Last time from a Woman from the Netherlands, actually😄 i just bought Portrait of a lady second hand (a full sircle moment for me, btw) and i dont know if that will get me compliments, but people sure will smell it. I feel like i have to be in a bad ass love me or hate me-mood when Im gonna wear that one. Its GORGEOUS though.
I got compliments from friends when i wear sunshine Woman from Amouage this summer, and they really dont compliment me much. Nobody is into perfume in Norway, it seems like.

I just think that it can be harder to recieve a compliment from a man than from a woman so thats like extra nice, not that anyone is seeking male attention it just is really NICE. How many sprays do you do when putting your product on ?
It depends on how strong the perfume is. For beastmode scents I'd do 1-2 sprays. For lighter scents I'd typically do 10+ sprays 😊

I think I’m the only person in the world who thinks Baccarat 540 smells like cigarette smoke. It smells awful. I wish it smelled good to me. I’ve been tried the alternative cheaper version from Zara. Still 🤢
Today I wore roses gourmand from Zara, and layered it with choco musk by Al rehab. When I went out I got complimented by one guy from my college, and two complete strangers. (One man working at the gas station, and one woman I opened the door for that had to know what I was wearing.) I was amazed I got all those compliments in one day! Lol I felt that same shy giddy feeling you were talking about😅 The best kind of compliment any fragrance lover could get💗💗
I am always complimented on BDK Gris Charnel. And I have gotten compliments on the Julianna's Perfume dupe of BR540 (Aurora).
I wore the Sol De Janeiro Anitta spray the other day and somebody asked why it smelled like air freshener in here. I didn’t say anything. 🤷♀️😩

I have all the SDJ sprays but Anitta is my least favorite so I took it to work to spray on the dogs for our summer spa grooming package. The first time I sprayed it every male employee lost their minds, exclaimed how amazing it smelled and one insisted I write it down. I was surprised. For me it smells like a can of pineapple juice. To them it's delicious and sexy. 🤷

I get the most compliments when I'm wearing Montale - Intense Cafe, and Vanilla Cake/Chocolate Greedy (I always wear this together, I love the combination). Obviously, I love gourmand scents. I was at Starbucks and the Barista's all complimented me on Intense Cafe, well, they do have the nose for coffee! And with Vanilla Cake, somebody at the grocery told me I smell like EXACTLY like chocolates, YUMMMY! :)

Just a few days ago, I was complimented in Walmart by three separate people. Guess what I was wearing? Baccarat Rouge 540! I smiled this entire review because it confirmed it. BR540 is just that amazing!

I know I'm late, but for me... when I compliment a stranger it makes MY day when they do what you told us you did. That very happy "thank you," and oh my gosh if I happen to look and them still smiling it's pure gold. My point ... you do know what to do. Honestly it made my day hearing you tell that because you got happy all over again. I'm such a softy lol.
