I made it yesterday and it was sooo good. I forgot to buy malt powder, so I use Milo instead. My family couldn't stop munching on the toasted cornflakes, so yummy! So I ended up having a thinner layer of caramel cornflake 🤭. I cut the sugar by third and I found the taste is just right for me. I put it on a fridge overnight, the taste & the texture is even better! Thank you Sally, Jemma & all the teams at C&D! I really love your recipes, they are easy to follow and taste incredible! Thanks! ❤️
I’ve recently gotten back into baking and this channel has given me perfect results every time! I baked my mum a birthday cake the other day following the piñata cake recipe and it turned out incredible! A huge huge thank you to the cupcake Jemma team for the amazing recipes and videos x
There re so many cooking channels these days, but I find myself getting addicted in watching Jemma and her team. There is something amazing about their vibes. Sally for example is so sweet and passionate. its hard not to follow her, she takes on to a journey with you. very sweet vibes. keep up the work.
Made these 3 days ago, only 2 bits left!! They are soooo gooood!!! 🤤 used crunchie nut cornflakes and powdered milk as didn’t have malted milk powder in, still tasted amazing! Kept it in the fridge and the brownie is so gooey it’s a new fave!!
I made these over the weekend. I did them gluten free. In place of the malt, I used 2 sachets of Milky white hot chocolate drink sachets and replaced the flour with gluten free plain flour. Turned out amazing! Everyone’s eyes went wide with the first mouthful! Totally recommend the over night fridge trick... it transformed them into something special!
Thank you Sally. I got really scared making the caramel 😁 but my cornflake brownie is currently setting, hope it looks like yours, praying it taste as good as yours looks to. must say it smells amazing. Thank you all for sharing your wonderful recipes with us all 😋
I worked out from the ingredient list of the kit on the website that it's malted milk powder (Horlicks Original in the UK and easy to get in supermarkets) and therefore not 'malt powder' which is something different (diastatic malt powder used by bakers for bread) so I hope this helps some of the people asking about it. The kit ingredients list and method is different from the original recipe video but that video is from 4 years ago and the kit is more recent. Recipes get tweaked over time and both look pretty delicious. 🤤
Ordered my Cornflake kit yesterday. Can not wait til it get's here. Also love how fast you guys ship even as I am living in the Netherlands. Thank you and always love Sally's vibe!
I can’t believe y’all did a vid on Tuesday!! When I got my notification I watched it right away!! OMG!! I absolutely love y’all’s channel!! To be able to go to crumbs and doilies is on my bucket list cuz I live in the USA. Thank you so much for sharing y’all’s recipes with us!!
My love for British baking began precisely on 1 February 2020 when I made my first ever cake. It was a Victoria sandwich. Baking has now grown into a hobby overtaking profession and I make it a practice to bake something every week. I just want to move to London for the bakes, and to work to produce those!!! Hi Sally. In spirit of bonfire night this week, whenever you get a chance, please show people like us [in America] your take on the classic Yorkshire parkin using black treacle. Thanks very much indeed and take care.
I believe this is the brownie that Mike from SortedFood went nuts about. Thank you so much for sharing! I can't import the package but will definitely recreate this!
Last year, when I went to England for a (much too short) vacation, I had the best brownies in my whole life! So I‘m really looking forward to try out this recipe... 😍😍😍 Thank you very much for the upload! 🙏🍀
Finally managed to try one of these at the weekend when I was in London. Honestly probably in the top 5 desserts I’ve ever had. And I’ve had a lot of desserts 😂
Thank you so much for reiterating that the caramel is hot!!! When I interned a few months ago, I dipped my finger in caramel, and God has it been one of the worst pains I've felt in my life. I absolutely love their brownie recipes! I've tried the cookie dough one and it is TO DIE FOR. I omitted the oreo in that one but my family and friends still loved it! Can't wait to try this one
I feel sooo lucky to find this channel. They both so .. what is best to say, waking up the spirit of baking 😍😍 inspite of I come from a different culture, I enjoyed sooo much their ways and their generosity in sharing very very nice recipes ... thank you Jemma n Sally

I baked these today. I can say that the brownie is gorgeous but I found the cornflakes topping really reeeeally sweet BUT I gladly ate 2 squares with a black Colombian coffee no sugar and it balanced well. I'm going to try the cornflakes without the add ons only with the Caramel to see if it makes it less sweet. Overall, I shared this recipe with my friends! Love this channel and love Sally x (makes me smile to the screen whilst watching the video 😂)

This reminds me of the cornflakes biscuits my mum used to make when I was a kid over 30 years ago. She'd make them around Christmas time (amongst many other treats). Christmas is at least a week long holiday and celebration. We go around visiting family and friends' home and there's always a buffet laid out. Whereas here in the UK there tend to be only one big dinner with the immediate family. We'd get around at least 200-300 friends and family (not all at once but throughout the week) dropping by the house for carols and what not. It's one thing I miss about living in Asia.
For someone not in the UK, what exactly is malt powder? Is it crushed malted sprouted barley (which is what I would guess, being a baker) which seems a bit strange in a cake, or is it something else?

I’ve made these many times from the previous video Jemma uploaded and omg they are amazing! But I find the caramel but so tricky!!
Add about 50ml water to the sugar. It takes just a bit longer to turn into caramel, but it's much easier! (Do NOT stir it until you add the cream)
