Yo guys have no idea how long I've wanted to do something like this just never had the funds to do so and to watch y'all do it it's just awesome keep it up
When I worked on small engines, like snowblowers, lawn tractors, rototillers etc, this guy brought me a single stage 2stroke snowblower. Said it had a noise. Got it running, was listening to the noise from underneath. Threw a rod at my face. Busted a hole like the one you guys showed. Loud AF
MY DUDES! 1st off this channel means the world to me, so I’m glad to hear you’re still in control. Ive been through a lot in the past few years and this channel helps me get through my hard times while you guys just do your normal activities so thank you. I’m also stoked that you are doing what I and I’m sure a lot of others could wait for a gearbox attached to a small engine. I’ll just sit back, relax, and watch the entertainment.
That pit bike would be a good candidate for something like a 125 cc engine. or something that you could pickup pretty cheap. it would make a cool future project for sure. being as it's all junk part's you could weld that flywheel on the on to the crankshaft. but I appreciate your patience and doing it correctly.
Consider this -- pull the crankshaft out. Make an input shaft that can have the engine gear welded on one end and a key way on the other to fit your sprocket. You can make a plate to cover the cylinder opening and seal the crankshaft cavity to hold the bearing lube. This can be used on any engine and add longevity to your build. Keep on building - you guys come up with a lot of cool ideas.
It's gonna eat the main bearings out because they don't know the crank of a 2stroke is sealed. No oil from gear box is lubing the mains. Now with that being said, some bikes the PTO side main is lubed from gear box, but the flywheel side is always lubed from fuel/oil mixture. They should have filled the crank with 15-40 least quarter way b4 putting the block off plate on it. But live n lear! Maybe one day they will actually figure out how a 2stroke operates 🤷♂️
@@shawnsatterlee6035 You have to be a machinist to pull it off. I know these guys are smart but I haven't seen any lathe or mill yet - hopefully in the future. You have to cut the shaft to fit in between the bearings and make so it can't shift left or right. This cut fits the bearing - 2nd cut fits the seal 3rd cut fits the engine gear and whatever your driving. Fill the crank cavity with oil and cover the cylinder port with a plate. Output stays dry --- crank bearings stay oiled and the tranny oil stays where it belongs.

This Old Man from Washington NC enjoying 3am with my coffee. Great start to my day. So sorry about the hack. Couldn't figure out yesterday with the live chat. Love you guys 🛵🧔💝💝💝
JB weld to the rescue. My friends and I used it when we were kids. Running Coleman fuel on a minibike (yes, the lantern fuel). Threw the rid through the side of the block (hole almost as big as a tennis ball). Patched it with jb, replaced the rod and kept riding.
I've got a Predator in which the rod used the governor arm to add a custom sunroof in the block. Replaced the rod, JB Weld across the hole (about the same size as the one in your Blaster's case), and it has been running fine. Granted, the hole in mine isn't on the bottom, but I have great faith in your repair.
I'm glad you guys recovered your channel I would've missed hearing Isaac saying "it'll be fine " on here...plus I'm waiting to see the green machine (dragster) rip up a drag strip
With the oil injection still on the Yamaha Blaster engine, I would say they ran it out of oil. I had one that was a Vito’s Big Bore Stroker. It was fun and had its moments.
Could you have used the cover for the engine/ trans and extended it out and mounted tilitson to that? Might've been a little cleaner install. Love the show and good luck. Thanks for sharing y'all's talents and adventures!!!
This May be a little off topic but can y'all give us an update on the situation of the break in. ( Have y'all retrieved missing items ) I check daily to see if you have put any videos out and really do enjoy the programming. Thanks for the effort that y'all give to entertain us all.
I kept looking for the new video on my subscriptions page until I went on Facebook and saw you had posted this video. At this point I clicked the link that took me here and realized that I had somehow been unsubcribed. I didn't do it, but anyway I am a subscriber again now.
With my idea of turning an input shaft on the lathe, you could cut the input shaft to fit the secondary pulley of your torque converter (series 30 or 40 --- all the way to a 780) . This gives you a transmission that could be used in most builds -- like a jack shaft mount with gears.
Ty guys, always stoked to see a new video. Wish yaul wasn't so far from me. I'm in eastern Burke county and always working on stuff like yaul do without the awesome tools though 😆. Can't wait to see the rail at Shadyside. Merry Christmas to you all!
Ah, maybe that explains why I had been unsubscribed, was confused this morning seeing this new video but not in my subscription feed, glad you got it back quickly
The piston dome is chewed up from from bottom end coming apart and going up through the transfer ports. Normally it starts with the thrush washers which usually ends it all, but had few where the lower rod bearing cage came apart also.
Somehow I got unsubscribed from the channel and found this episode in home. I'm not sure if that happened to anyone else, but I resubbed and did the bell deal.
JB Weld is the bomb. It works in a pickle I had a Husqvarna I ran it lean, put a hole in the piston. JB welded the whole both sides let it sit for 48 hours put it together and it ran for a long time.
Hey guys, I did sumthing real similar but i used a comet 40 cvt to go from my honda racing motor to quad trans to atv axle with quad sprocket in my offroad buggy, if i had to guess, ur motor turned faster & with more torque on the sprocket & ur trans had resistance so ur key sheered, i had tried chains on mine at first too but ended up using a beefy cvt to allow for more give & less shock to the drivetrain..good luck, can't wait to c u get urs going!
I always wanted to do this but never had the tools or money. But the way I was going to do it was replace the crank with round stock and put a sprocket in the jug hole because the way you have it set up it’s probably gonna bend the crank it’s on the outside of the bearing if you put it in the jug hole there’s 2 bearings holding it from bending
You should make that transmission's "engine block off plate" extend all the way back to the rear of the frame and use that as the new engine's mounting plate. Beefy and simple.
Did you put oil in the crank case before you bolted that plate on the blaster bottom end? Those crank main bearing get oiled from the gas oil mix, not the transmission oil. It won’t last long dry.
I don't usually comment, but I've been subscribed since the first minibike videos (I was putting a 212 in a bike, and had no idea what I was doing), and I'm so glad you got your channel back.
I hope they caught the A-Holes what a bunch of you know what. so glad to see your back and fighting fit and don't forget to lock tight the nuts lol great video as always.
I had idea how mating these two items together would even work. I have several Blaster motors and cores from building them in YSR 50's. My son and his friends have about 6 different Predator type motor builds on contraptions mush like you guys build. So now my brain gears are turning, we might try to mimic this set up, so crazy, it might even work.
You are going to need to eliminate the crank and replace it with a solid shaft. The flywheel key will never stand up to being right in the middle of your drive train. It would be like trying to replace your master link in the drive chain with a piece of pull chain for a house light.
your "trans-engine" is all out of balance because you removed the piston (but left the counter weight), you can see the whole kart shaking itself loose ^^ you might want to replace the crankshaft by a jackshaft ;) That said, I'm glad seeing you back after the hack :D
Forget the chain!!! Run a belt drive system to the clutch shaft, cut the 2 stroke motor portion off, the gearbox has its own oil and j b weld the the sides up to seal it up
Glad you got your channel back,,, love love love you guys and your builds,,, this is the swap I’d love to do on my super bronc,,, y’all are good at finding stuff,,, I’m lookin for a 200 ~ 250 Honda atv motor, like from a big red or something. Been watching since before the Rat Rod Wagon, build...you guys seem to like those piranha motors, use that on your pit bike
The flywheel is used in the differend rotation now thus loosening the nut. Put the sprocket directly on the shaft. But then the cranckshaft could deform.
The gearbox and crankcase are two different units as far as lubrication is concerned. The hole in the crankcase doesn’t affect the gearbox oil. As far as lubricating the crank, you could probably get away with spraying the bearings with silicone spray lube every few minutes of riding since in the original application, it was lubricated by the 2 stroke oil mixed in the gas.
I just realized today that I haven't had a video of your alls in my feed in quite some time. Makes sense on why now. On a positive note, I have like 14 videos to binge haha.
Been watching you guys for years, love what you do. Just wish you would scale back the goofy just a little for the people that are actually mechanicly incline...
@ 7:59 those are normal cast marks on a blaster jug. The jug is still good and still usable. I would keep that seeing as a factory Yamaha one is pretty rare now days. Most of them are Chinese replacements. If it says y-1 or y-2 on the side Intake side. its an original Yamaha head. You can get a wiseco crank for These things for about $300 and $200 more you would have a decent blaster engine. Case can be repaired in shop with the correct welding wire and method. Also if the clutch is stuck together just take it apart and pull the fibers and metals apart and scrub with scotch Brite
would be much beefier if you guys had a lathe... run a jackshaft in situ of the crankshaft on sealed bearings.. or a homebrewed oil bath. you could have charge and lights on the yardkart without any fear of sending the chain or the flywheel into someone.
Probably a good idea to make a fake crankshaft, eventually... get those counterweights out of there because it's unbalanced without the piston and rod on it, which is why it was shaking so bad. Takes care of the bad threads, too... that's machine work though. Could live with the threads, weld a chunk between the throws and start cutting and grinding until it's just a straight shaft, leaving thrust bearing surfaces in place and such.
Be sure to leave a like! We're planning a podcast for Thursday evening to do a deep dive on the hacking situation, stay tuned for more info!

I love this channel, you guys actually build the things I have ideas for, but am too lazy to do myself 👌
That explains why I didn't get an alert for this video. Liked and shared. Hope y'all get it leveled out soon.
This content is like your old stuff. I LOVE IT!!! Keep on rocking boys.
glad to still have you guys been watching you since I was a kid love what you do keep it going
The flywheel is used in the differend rotation now thus loosening the nut. Put the sprocket directly on the shaft. But then the cranckshaft could deform.
We like the idea and think it will work as long as you can keep engine and trans solid for the primary chains sake.
Central California watching
Good to see y'all back. Love y'all's content.
File the edges of the clutch basket where the clutch plates slid … it’ll make a world of difference!
I was wondering why it said I was unsubscribed. Glad you guys are back!
I just realized today that I haven't had a video of your alls in my feed in quite some time. Makes sense on why now. On a positive note, I have like 14 videos to binge haha.
Can't wait to see it running fully
It makes me so happy that you guys decided not to part out the Pit Bike!! 👍👍
Poor Ike 😂
Goodness fellas! I hope things get back to normal within your channel!
I thought I did something ! Glad yall are back in action !!!!! 🤙🏼🤙🏼
Been watching you guys for years, love what you do. Just wish you would scale back the goofy just a little for the people that are actually mechanicly incline...
Mount the gear directly to the crank. You don't need the weight of the flywheel. Also a centrifugal clutch on the motor would be cool.
From what I’ve heard about blasters the transmission lasts until around the 40hp mark for the motor
I love it! Please put a blaster engine on the mini bike, that would be awesome.
would be much beefier if you guys had a lathe... run a jackshaft in situ of the crankshaft on sealed bearings.. or a homebrewed oil bath. you could have charge and lights on the yardkart without any fear of sending the chain or the flywheel into someone.
