Love the dirk. Your poor old drill sounds like the bearings have passed their expiration date. I have the same thing. Been using it for 25 years. Still works but whines and grinds like crazy. I won’t get a new one until it’s completely dead. I grow attached to tools that I’ve had forever. Really enjoy watching how you take scrap metal and turn into a weapon with character.
Another nice knife. After watching all of your videos I've noticed a major improvement in your skill as a blacksmith. This knife compared to one of your earlier ones, looks like it was made by a different person. I also like that you're getting away from the Viking stuff. There's nothing wrong with Viking blades, but experimenting with new designs is good.
Many of these things were clearly more or less ballock daggers. Your hand should fit between the two expanded parts. The expanded part nearest the blade served to keep the user's hand off the blade when stabbing just like with a Roman gladius. Why some people miss that is beyond me. I still like it. The blade shape is more like what I'd expect a country lad's blade to be because it had to multitask more than a military blade.

Good on you! You pounded your hatchet with wood, not steel, which would cause damage. Nice work.

Old rasp? I know alot of them are only case hardened, so I don't loke to use then to often unless there old old haha
