- Installing a 1 inch body lift on my 1975 Ford Bronco with a special guest, Matt from Matt's Garage. We had fun working on this, and it only took us a few hours start to finish. Gotta love working on Early Bronco repairs with a fellow youtuber and classic bronco lover.
Here's a link to the 1 inch kit I bought from Wild Horses:

Just found this vid. Very helpful! Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
got the wild horses 1 inch body lift coming... can't wait to tie into it.. thanks for the video and tips!.. Tape the holes.. CHECK!.lol
Haha!
Thank you!
I wish this video was out before I did mine. Would have made things easier. It was a pain in the butt. Keep the videos coming.
After you cleaned up everything did you hit it with any paint to seal up the exposed steel? I'm about to start on this project on my '73 and figured to just steel brush and hit everything with some paint.
What about the transmission linkage? Thinking about a 2" on my 76.
I just installed a 1" body lift on mine a few weeks ago. I found that hole on the frame right as the nut fell into it. 😁
+darkmagus419 haha! I had to order a new sleeve. I couldn't get the old one out
Luckily I was able to wrap duct tape backwards on my finger and fish out the sleeve. I had to get a new nut at the hardware store though. I just found your channel, great quality videos!
+darkmagus419 good idea! Thanks man!
Thanks for sharing. I think we all can relate to the frustrations and the feelings of accomplishment when done with a project!. Maybe I missed it, but besides loosening the bolts for the V-mount support for the steering column, did you loosen or disconnect anything else? Tranny linkage? radiator shroud? What did you do for the radiator shroud to compensate for the drop of the fan? Thanks!
+pakwest I did disconnect the transmission linkage but I didn’t have a radiator shroud, so didn’t move that
This is a project I am about to start, as my current original rubber body mounts are deteriorated. Not really adding a body lift, but any recommendation on keeping rubber or going to polly? I know polly will most likely last longer, but want to keep the ride smooth. Thanks
No recommendation. I honestly can’t remember what I put in mine.
@@NashvilleEarlyBronco You have inspired me to try and post my progress, follow along as I attempt to post content that might help others...or at least show them what not to do first.
Nice!!! Let me know if you need anything
is this the lift or the body mounts? forgive me as i'm new to all of this but trying to order the right kits from toms bronco and it has two different items. thanks!
Body mounts 👍🏼
I recently bought the pro flow efi set up was curious about clearance on your stock hood. Will the one inch body lift be enough?
It fit for me with a 1” body lift
question. Do I need to replace my body mounts or does the lift kit act as a lift and body mounts ? is there a difference between the two ? thanks
A Body Lift and body mounts are the same thing. A suspension lift it different.
you guys running a standard or auto trans? I've got the 3 speed was wondering what you guys may have done with the clutch linkage
+Robert Wozniak Jr yeah C4 automatic. We loosened the clutch linkage at the transmission. I haven't tightened it back because I'm installing a wiring harness, but it looks like with the lift it has enough slack to tighten back in
Nashville Early Bronco ok, from the looks of it I'll have to cut and lengthen my clutch linkage, or order a adjustable linkage and wait..... yea I'm too impatient for that lol especially with snow coming
+Robert Wozniak Jr haha! I hear you. Are you doing the one inch lift?
Nashville Early Bronco yeah I'm doing the same stuff Billet alloy 1" lift blocks went on fairly easy. the body bushings were already brand new I just needed to bite the bullet and get another bushing kit to replace the missing ones in the engine bay. also installed a wild horses highlander hood, got James Duff front and rear plate bumpers with tire carrier and winch moubt, plus a set of rock skis. added a auxiliary fuek tank. and putting on a new set of doors today with the lift off hinges. I'm gonna get a set of trail door come spring and add onto my roll bar the forward section over the driver and passenger when I take the hardtop back off. i plan on pulling the motor here soon too, runs good but has a rear main seal leak I need to get on and compression is a little low in a few cylinders, gonna see what this 302 is sitting at and most likely just do a basic rebuild maybe throw a set of heads on it if my wallet is feeling kinda heavy. after all that I've got some buddies who work in a body shop I'm gonna get them to fix my screw ups in body work a day get her straight and a decent paint job on it.
never mind about cutting my linkage, lucked out and was able to adjust my plunger in enough to get it working again.
what's the total time investment?
Mark Cafiero I think this one took us about 4 hours between the two of us, then this video took me 2-3 hours to edit. Is that what you are asking?
just the install time - thanks!
